Bethesda launch fail

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 12:39 am

I can't escape the fact that if Bethesda hadn't got all numerological with the release date, we'd all be playing Skyrim now instead of just a lucky few... thanks a lot Bethesda.

Also, seeing videos everywhere of gameplay makes me hate the 360's DLC exclusivity even more. If the current situation is bad, the situation of DLC videos that won't get taken down because it is street legal for 360 means a month of videos for the rest of us to endure/dodge for each and every DLC released.

...thanks a lot Bethesda. :sadvaultboy:

I agree, it kind of bums me out. I don't know if I should blame Bethesda, but in any case, this is actually the only thing I'm disappointed with.

If i saw it for sale, i would buy it, without a doubt.

I lol'd at the people saying if same happened to them they ''wouldn't'' out of respect, but then go on to whinge about how the wait feels so long.

Basically, i can wait while friday, but if im out and about and it's there, yeah, i would.

I have to admit, i envy those people who have Skyrim now a lot... But, they deserve it. They have waited as long as us (Almost... We wait 3 days more), months and years. I would have taken the chance to get the game early without hesitation.

You're not referring to the pirated version right?

It is sitting ready for release to preload, really no reason to hold it back from release other than some pretentious marketing date.

You do realize that any date would have the same result, right? The games have to be sent to the store SOMETIME in order to be there for you to GET THEM on time.

I'm sick and tired of these threads. You act like this is all their fault, like somehow, they should have secret agents at every store location and every warehouse to prevent people from breaking street date.

Sadly your anger is misplaced. This is not the fault of Bethesda, Steam, Microsoft, nor Sony. This is the fault of the RETAILERS breaking the street date plain and simple. Rant about them if you want, but don't go around accusing all the wrong people.

I'd love to have it early, but that seems silly with just a few days to go (I can wait). That being said, I hope to see some videos to tide me over, because I desire this game greatly (especially after watching others play).

People, look at it this way - this changes nothing for you personally. I am still getting the game on the 11th, regardless of anyone else having it.

On the positive side, maybe we'll see some more footage of the game before "launch".

Has absolutely nothing to do with Bethesda. Had the release date been 11/7/11, or any other date, it would still have been shipped out to reviewers early, those reviewers would have leaked it, and stores would still have broken street dates. Don't blame Bethesda, blame the wankers who are leaking/pirating/breaking street dates.

I can wait, and I'm happy for the people playing it, who stick to playing it. Nothing annoys me more than 'I got the gameeee' forum posts.

Not really Bethesda's fault that a bunch of stores decided to hand them out before the official release date.
