Bethesda launch fail

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 12:37 pm

I thought the release date was cool enough. Ye some people have it already, not Bethesda's fault though. At the end of the day MS want the Xbox to have the exclusivity. So they use their money and influence to make it so. It's business. I'm not condoning it and I know it is annoying for non xbox users but MS aren't going to let an opportunity like that slip by.

I don't mind that people have Skyrim already.

The 360 situation is [censored] though. $$$

If they had planned to release it earlier then reviewers would've gotten their hands on the game earlier and the Xbox 360 version would have leaked earlier.

Aye none of the things that have happened around the launch are actually Bethesda's fault.

True, but as this is a Tuesday... and games usually come out on Tuesday... had Bethesda not sought some numerological kismet, then release Tuesday would be today and I'd be playing regardless of what other platforms are doing. My focus was the recognition of what day of the week this is.

You would really want to be in line at the same time as 9 million MW3 buyers?

It does not bother me that other people have it, I would like to be playing as well.
I was fine waiting last week and up until Monday. However its killing me now (the wait) and I would love to play it now, instead of soon.

I have BF3, and its only two more days (Wed-Thu) but I really want to play it now.

Hi, I'm here to buy MW3, that's Morrowind 3, AKA Skyrim.

How old are you may I ask? Please use some common sense instead of accusing the wrong people.

I remember ordering Two Worlds 2 for the PC online, and I couldn't believe the number of British people still moaning about the delayed release date a month later. It was totally legitimate, perfectly boxed and everything, but when I told everyone on the forum about the online gaming company I ordered it from they just ignored me. Sadly I can't remember what they were called it 'game click' or something I think? Don't know how I came by it, tried googling it and can't find it now. It's not unusual for games to appear much earlier than they're supposed to?

actually owning my games and no being locked out of them (console or websites that don't use the steam business model) > steam
Lol, I'll never be locked out of my games.... trust me. :)

I swear on my dead grandmother's grave, that even if I had gotten the game early, I wouldn't play it a second before 00:00:00 on 11 - 11 - 11.

But I guess I don't blame those who are playing it... I'd do it mainly because playing it before november 11th would feel "wrong".

Beth already has their money. Retailers have to pay up front for merchandise from manufacturers.

It aint the fault of the retailers, it is the person behind the counter stupid enough to sell and register a not yet released game. Someone, somewhere, clearly jumped the gun on this one and that's when fair competition steps right in. Should someone sell anything to early, then everyone may sell it.

Only if Bethesda follows up with lawsuits and legal claims. That's when they get money out of it.

Bah, I for one, am accusing the game for seemingly being so addictive.

In other words, I am the weak link here :tes:

Its not a multiplayer game, on top of that it is 300+ hours long. Nobody is going to get ahead of you, and even if they do, it won't matter because it is a Single player game.

You can wait another 3 days.

I can't escape the fact that if Bethesda hadn't got all numerological with the release date, we'd all be playing Skyrim now instead of just a lucky few... thanks a lot Bethesda.

What is the whole deal with release dates anyway? I don't see why there should be a lock.

I have no problem getting the game early as long as they can spare the time to tell us whether it is good or not? Saying that, probably not the best way to find out if it's bad.
