I've been on quite a few fora around a release date of a game. I can't think of any community that acted this jealous. Take that whatever way you want, I'm just putting it out there.

All those retailers that broke street date should get ALL future releases of Bethesda games a week after release. If you're going to have street dates, especially completely artificial ones like 11/11/11, you should enforce them damn it. And there should be real consequences for breaking those street dates.

The only fair thing to do now is for Bethesda to call retailers online and off and tell them to start shipping.

Some retailers broke the street date and it's Bethesda's fault. We're having an astonishing logic fail here.

It will be a while until the modders fix the game anyways.

I'm always stunned when I hear that people are getting it for console.

I'm not poking fun at consoles. I get the appeal of playing it relaxed on your couch with a big screen. But, mods just change the game from something that might have been great to actually great (or at least good).

I do that anyway with a HTPC.. I remember trying to play GTA4 on the PS3.. ugh.. slow and boggy to load everything, never again with this generation of consoles, which are now laughably outdated in processing power

If i saw it for sale, i would buy it, without a doubt.

I lol'd at the people saying if same happened to them they ''wouldn't'' out of respect, but then go on to whinge about how the wait feels so long.

Basically, i can wait while friday, but if im out and about and it's there, yeah, i would.

Pretty much this. What svcks is the connected people who get it early and BRAG about it.

I don't think it's a big deal as long as it's paid for and the profit was made all around.

I can't escape the fact that if Bethesda hadn't got all numerological with the release date, we'd all be playing Skyrim now instead of just a lucky few... thanks a lot Bethesda.

If Bethesda hadnt done the date thing i'd still be waiting anyways as games are released on Fridays over here in the UK so it would make zero difference - only very rarely do we get games released on a Tuesday like the US but if it happens it is usually only Halo or a CoD game.

I'm going to be a total loser and spend all day at the mall just so I can be first to get it once it hits midnight. I blame gamestop for leaking the game. Do I smell a lawsuit?

Heh, console version was leaked, console version was released early by some shops, console people are playing it early Meanwhile PC users are waiting for the release day. And DRM isn't effective? :lmao:

It's not bethesda's fault. It was the retailers here in Belgium/Netherlands that decided to release early.

Anyway, in my case I can't play anyway until steam activates. So all I can do is read the manual and look at the map.

3 days (now more like 2) is not the end of the world.

This really doesn't seem like a big deal to me. So some people got the game early, who cares? Everyone's going to be playing it by the end of the week.

Ya, honestly, Steam is awesome.

In all seriousness, though. Who cares. Sure, there's leaked info, but you sort of have to put yourself in a position to find said leaked info. It's not like you can come on this board, click on a thread and see a bunch of leaked content. Mods delete it (and you can't even embed images so you would have to consciously click on the link).

Cool for the people who got it early. I can wait 3 days. HOLY [censored] 3 DAYS GUYS.

Be glad that the people that are playing the game haven't all come online complaining about the game being unplayable because of bugs and such.

One less thing to worry about, no?

It svcks for those of us who have to wait, but we've already waited years. Yeah, this week is seriously dragging, and the fact people are playing is annoying. If I saw it at my local Sainsburies I probably would pick it up, that said two more days won't hurt.

And as many have said, it's the retailers at "fault" here, not Bethesda.

A few months ago the release date of 11-11-11 seemed really awesome
I thought, "Yeah, so what if regular release days are Tuesdays, I can wait three days."
Now I'm just like... "I WANT IT NOWWWW!"

actually owning my games and no being locked out of them (console or websites that don't use the steam business model) > steam

Also, seeing videos everywhere of gameplay makes me hate the 360's DLC exclusivity even more. If the current situation is bad, the situation of DLC videos that won't get taken down because it is street legal for 360 means a month of videos for the rest of us to endure/dodge for each and every DLC released.

...thanks a lot Bethesda. :sadvaultboy:
You'd feel the same way about it last week if it was released today. The game JUST went Gold, that means they've JUST shipped the copies out. Companies have them and they need to unload them, make shelf space for them, and prepare things for the midnight release. Retail is a lot more difficult than "get product sell product."

Doesn't bother me AT ALL that some people are playing early. I got to watch hours of leaked footage which, for me, since I don't mind spoilers, is all that's kept me sane (or has it made me more insane wanting it so badly now?).

Anyway, many of those people will only ever play Skyrim on the 360. By contrast, I'm going to have thousands of mods to choose from which will make a great game that much better. They'll never have that. They're getting "bare bones" Skyrim early. I'll be getting the enhanced version, made better by a fantastic community of modders and scripters who are just as talented---if not more so---than Bethesda.

You do realize that any date would have the same result, right? The games have to be sent to the store SOMETIME in order to be there for you to GET THEM on time.

I'm sick and tired of these threads. You act like this is all their fault, like somehow, they should have secret agents at every store location and every warehouse to prevent people from breaking street date.

Not really. When a game is street dated for some obscure release date like this it sits in stores much longer than it would have had Bethesda simply released it on a standard day (Tuesday).
