Console is disabled for Survival?

Post » Thu Mar 31, 2016 5:27 am

There's a list over on the Steam forums that outlines what's in the Survival mode.

Under Features it says:

You can only opt into the Survival once, to deter difficulty switching.

Console is disabled.

So, that right there says that PC players won't have access to the Console Commands, even when the new mode gets out of Beta. Hopefully, with the amount of feedback their likely to get from this, Bethesda will change their minds and re-enable Console Commands.

Once again, the new survival mode is supposed to be realistic. I've used console commands, and it's easy to get addicted to them. Taking them out will force you to not use them to keep you going, which is a huge plus for me.

Im a PS4 player so have no access to this option but I voted no as I hate to see any players single player game be spoiled due to glitches & crashes.

Just a shame there is not more support among the player base for more freedom and options in a single player game but hey must be terrible knowing someone in the world might not be playing the game in the exact way certain players feel they should.

What's funny is the PC owners bashing someone because, while they want console to be in, they are suggesting that there's options if Beth doesn't reenable the console. I also voted no

Here's the thing. PC Fallout players are used to the game giving players an insane level of options. I really think that the main push on the "no console" side and the "you play the game I want to play" are coming from the console side. My only reasoning for this is that some toxic commenters (not aiming that one at you) have pointed out that they're playing on the console version, and the console version is the most limited version of the game.

I don't mean limited as an insult. I mean, if they change how damage resistance works in a patch, ALL console users are FORCED to get that patch and are forced to play the game that way. But PC users don't have to get that patch. Or they can mod or edit game files to turn that off. Personally I think that those limits svck.

So many of the negative comments come across as "Someone insulted me and said my PS4 version wasn't the real game because it wasn't moddable. Now your PC version's limited against your will. Ha HA. Hows it feel.".

Here's the big thing. I want the console on my PC copy of the game. And I want YOU to have the console on your PS4 or Xbox version of the game. If you need to fix the game because a quest is bugged, I want you to be able to fix it. That's it. That's all there is to this.

Anything else is baggage that people are dragging along behind them.

EDIT: My own included.
