In general, do you like the Moderators here?

Yes. I've not much experience with forums, but they're some of the best mods, as a whole, that I've had the pleasure of being policed by.

Do you know any of them personally? Have you met any in real life?

No, and no.

Would you like to have more or less contact with them?

I don't have an opinion about this. Some are aloof, and some are sociable. To each their own. But I like that they aren't faceless boogiemen. :smile:

I like the moderators here alot with out them this forum would probably be no better than gamefaqs

(interestingly a single mod hasn't posted yet wonders what a moderator thinks about moderating)

Honesty doesn't go down too well in threads like these.

I'm sure most of the mods are perfectly nice people off the forums. Some are even perfectly nice on them too.

1. Yes, even the ones that eat weird things like marmite and ammonia chloride candy.

2. I know several quite well, although I've only met one fellow mod in real life. Unfortunately missed out on what could have been a four-mod summit in NYC a while back.

They bring an air of professionalism here on the forums. Yet they are not above idle chit-chat. Which is why I love em.

I generally get on well with all of the moderators. I don't always agree with their decisions, but I have no problem with any of them personally.

I like us fine and met one. I keep trying to get them all to fly up here and meet me. Only one taker so far.

I'm pretty happy that most seem to think we do a good job. BTW, I tend to like most of our members as well. We have a jim dandy community here that just keeps growing.

I find them to be very respectful and reasonable. I like how they are quick to stop spamming and trolling and unlike some forums don't abuse the power they have

I like the mods here, they seem like nice people. Though some may be a bit overzealous in the closing of threads.

I don't know any of them personally, to my knowledge. Who knows, maybe I passed one on the street.

I'd like to have about the same amount of contact now. Not distant from the events on the forum, but not having Big Brother breathing down my neck.

I was surprised about how many female mods there are on here. My experience on other forums led me to believe that most moderators were male.

The mods here are amazing. They do a great job while staying human.

I have not any of them in real life as of yet.

I think that they are good as of how they operate as of now. They enforce the rules, but they do not let it go to their head.

If you put your ear up to someone's leg, you can hear them say: "what are you doing?"

Don't really care? I don't mind forum mods who may largely stay at a distance from posting, and I don't mind forum mods who participate regularly in the forums.

My opinion has always been, if I don't like how a forum is run, I'll make my own forum where I can be the boss do what I want. eg, it's not my house, so even if I disagree with a rule/wouldn't have that rule in my own house, I'm not bothered by following it while I visit.
Huge forums (a ton of active members) that I've been to that were fairly lax moderation tend to fall into chaos. I don't like chaos, so things suit me fine here.

I like the mods here, they are very proactive compared to other sites I've been too, and they aren't scared to post their opinions on topics either. That being said, they aren't perfect, and I've seen some pretty bad calls (and been on the end of a few too) when it comes to punishing people.

I like how it is now. I haven't had any problems getting in touch with them if I need them.
