I think the moderators here are the finest people on the planet.
I have met three of them personally (I'm very close to one of them), although two are no longer moderators.
I think the amount of contact we have now is just about right.
Hold on, since when were you not a mod? I leave for six months and the cow leaves!
As far as your questions go:
In general, do you like the Moderators here?Yes. They're well chosen, they professional, they have a sense of humour and, most important of all, they're fair.
Do you know any of them personally? Have you met any in real life?Nope. Although I did see a bear once...
Would you like to have more or less contact with them?I think it's fine how it is. You hear from them if you stray from the path, that's always a given. You contact them with reports etc to help keep spam to a minimum. Whenever I've had a query, I've been able to PM a mod and usually within the hour I'll get a reply (depending on whether said mod is online or not...try to pick one that is unless it's relevant to a certain moderator). You also see them post in standard threads...this makes them seem more real, and less like a spam filter. Them posting in threads gives you an insight into them a bit (for instance, Rohugh posts quite a bit in the Post Your Desktop thread, with some epic backgrounds!) but it can also get a thread back on track when it's close to derailing. Now and then there will be a warning, but often just knowing a mod is watching the thread, even for personal interest, can make the spammers stop and reconsider.
