Daggerfell remake and Morrowind Expansion

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 10:09 am

Well I first was around RIften and I came across the gate that leads to Morrowind but many people already know about that.. Then I set out to find a gate or a cave leading to the area of High Rock..

And I found it.. If you go North-west of Solitude you can find a road that leads to a rock.. But this rock isn't ordinary.. It has a indentation like a cave would but has no black color making it represent a cave..

Has anyone else seen something similar to this maybe to another area?

http://playstationlifestyle.net/2011/10/09/skyrims-map-is-large-and-extremely-detailed-see-it-and-believe-it/ - See how the road above Solitude ends right before it hits High Rock.. That's the one i am talking about

I was wondering around the gate of Morrowind.. I climbed up a hill next to it and found a bed with a book called the Cats of Skyrim.. I was wondering if this was an Easter Egg because the Cats of Morrowind have different legs.. Also their is a Tower nearby owning to the Vigil of Stendarr and the people of Morrowind worship daedric princes.. Their is also a weird Frost Troll nearby who resides near a flag.. Their is a weird blood trail leading to him..

Interesting. It appears we will have a Morrowind and Cyrodiil expansion based on the White-Ivory tower being seen. Any pics on the Daggerfall place.

I don't know why we're acting like these are surprises.

Doesn't the physical map show these paths to other provinces?

I'm pretty sure they've done this for a little bit of believability so Skyrim doesn't feel completely shut off and isolated from the rest of Tamriel; and perhaps also for the convenience of modders. I really wouldn't read into it as a sign that we'll see the other provinces appear as DLC.

Basically, this.

Physical map also shows a road into Hammerfell, Pale Pass into Cyrodiil, and a road near Riften into either Cyrodiil or Morrowind (it's gotta be close to the border between them, so I'm not sure).

That is very interesting. I do think this probably means something with DLCs.

I try not to get my hopes too high, but if they did province size expansions, it would be hot ! And sells like candy.

Actually out of curiosity , I took a break from my real master difficulty character, and built a straight up cheat level 252 multiclass hero with all perks and spells
Just for the purpose of sizing up the world

You see, with my real charctyer I walked from Solitude toward high rock border, I had barely made progress, and I estimate it would take over 30 minutes of real world time from that little stretch

So with my cheated chacter I started there, and circled arround the perimeter of the world, I went as far as near falkreath (close to riverwood)
It took many real life hours, and it was an amazing journey
I used invisibility and muffle to avoid being disturbed

So while I didnt saw the morrowind gate, because it s on the other side, I saw a few strange zones that could be used as *welcome to high rock, hammerfell, cyrodil)
usually mountain passses that could just be artificial blocks (i e invisible barriers)
and one character, the lioness mentioned adventuring across all of tamriel, its too much of a tease, nearly a torture
also high rock could be accessible using boats

I also think some aspects of the game they didnt had tome to finish like the mills to make the flour, and no recipes for aple pies and such....
I do smell some big expansions coming up

And since they sold 3 million copies the first two days, its a lot of potential income

Especially since the engine is already done

So far, it feels a lot larger than morrowind (which was larger than oblivion) and better done than both
some of the views are beyond breathtaking, I thought I had seen the best with markath and solitude !!!
Not so, some mountain top you can reach near high rock let you having insane downward views
toward the sea (in the north) and toward the inner plains and mount hrothgard (middle of high rock frontier)
and then there is the secret valley to the south, a dangerous but verry beautifull zone
you think you saw warerwork in marjath !!! wait till you see those majestic waterfall,
makes markath look tiny.

some ruins (dwemer ruins, nord ruins) are just so gigantic its insane
There was a lot of variety and mysteries too.
I just wish I had time left for the eastern part toward morrowind
but I dont want to ruin all my experience either (for my real character)

and if you play master difficulty, you can do a trick to lower your skills by one when they reach 100 (using the console)
allowing you to level up slowly till you reach 252 and get all perks

Its trully epic, and after a test drive, I figured out my level 252 isnt invulnerable at all,
he can be knocked out real fast if I m careless, I love the master difficulty
I hope they unlock those skills for real, and throw it worst badies in the expansion, level 250 leviathan or something

Rather than the decidedly improbably full-province expansions; DLCs to sections of other parts of the Empire might well be plausible, launched from the gates which travel to their respective provinces.

For instance, combating Thalmor plots in Cyrodil isn't impossible, if, say, the DLC consisted of just the Imperial City or some other chunk you gain access to from a southern pass.

I wouldn't mind seeing them do something just like that; an urban DLC in another province where the city's given proper treatment, not a scaled down environ. Who wouldn't like a big, detailed Imperial City the size of, say, Point Lookout from Fallout 3, or Zion from New Vegas?

However, I've been wondering, given the huge amounts of ancient nord ruins in Skyrim, and a number of sideplots tied to them, would it be completely insane to send the players to Atmora? It's certainly an angle that'd be huge from a plot/universe perspective, and Skyrim's the perfect environ to do it in.

I would love either The Imperial City or Atmora.

Their is no entrance.. It's a path leading to a rock that looks kind of like a cave would.. Indentation where the entrance is..

I also would like to add Todd Howard said something around E3.. Skyrim wasn't even out and he said that he always wanted to redo the area where the game Daggerfell took place.. He said they didn't pull it off the way they wanted because of the lack of software at that time..

Yes! It could send you on the trail of the Nerevarine, which would be awesome.

I would LOVE some dlc that takes us to Hammerfell to help the resistance! Going to an arid desert would be a really nice change with all of the snow too, I love the environment in Skyrim but I wouldn't really want any of the first dlc's to take place in or too near to it. Hammerfell or Morowind would be great but Hammerfell would tie in with the Thalmor story side of things.

The game has lots of references to other places and other times.

Doesn't mean we will see them in DLC. maybe a touch of hesitation could prove wise, in order to avoid un-founded disappointment

The entire World on Nirn is in skyrim,They probaly added that to the modders but it isn't complete. If you enable the controls u can easily breach the invisible barriers and if u walk to the south u can find the imperial city, also the sea is like infinity,i tried to find magical barriers when i was bored, but there wasn't.Here's the info:

You do know the location I am talking about is a road that leads to a rock that looks like it could have been a cave.. Unlike the other exits to Morrowind and Cyrodiil..

Their is no road leading to High Rock or Hammerfell.. Their is one that could be leading to High Rock in a DLC because their is 1 road which is the one your probably looking at.. It goes to right before the edge of High Rock and stops.. It stops in some snowy area but somehow their is dirt around.. Their is a rock with a big slice in it like a cave would have..
