Sen's Fortress wasn't as bad for me as it seems to be for most players I've talked to, or read/heard talk about it. It took me three run-throughs to reach the bonfire. Would have been two but the firebomb giant took me by surprise. However, the Iron Golem was a total jerk. He probably knocked me off the platform four or five times. Then, I whipped out my bow to mix things up and killed him on my first try. I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick with ranged whenever I can. My bow.

Died quite a few times in sens fortress, but only died once to the Iron golem. Dont think that when they designed Sen's they had much thought for Health and Safety :\

Spoiler
Just kept dodging between his legs and attacking him from behind. Seemed fairly easy. Though he managed to grab me once, but rest of time was fine.

Haven't played much at all this week, but probably will a bit later. Left off at the Duke's Archives with all the crystalline guys.

Re-posting since I did not realize the post limit was hit by the time I made this post:

Oh boy... Smough and Ornstein are absolutely ridiculous. I almost beat them on my first try, but Smough hit me and knocked me down to 1 health I guess, since there was no red left in my life bar. I only realized I still had chance when it was too late and he hit me again.

Tried a second time and was killed almost instantaneously. They both hit me at the exact same time.

Yay, I finally platinumed this game. Now I can be found waiting in dark anor londo for invaders trying to get into the new combat features of dark souls.

Welcome to Luck: The Boss.

Honestly I don't know how ANYBODY does it without two summoned phantoms to help.

I did that fight with the help of Solaire. With his help, Ornstein was out of the way within a few minutes, and Smough isn't all that terrible.

i hate archers..... anor lando ones specifically. Those 2 where you are running up the narrow bridge things.

So annoying....

Getting some good gear so far in lando though. Got the black knight set and finally worked out what the fire keeper souls actually do when talking to the fire keeper.
Been carrying 2 around for ages. I now have +2 flasks :D

Also, im carrying Queelags soul and the core of an iron golem around.

I know that they make special weapons if you upgrade a scimiter to +10 and a great axe to +10, but if i dont use those weapons, am i as well cashing them in for souls, ie no other use for them?

Edit- Just watched a video. Think im doing the archers wrong. Should go for the right one, not the left one. To be fair i only died 3 times going for the same guy on left

The furty fury sword is formidable on a dexterity build, the golem axe is formidable on a strength build. If you aren't a dexterity build, or strength build and you aren't throphy hunting for all unique and rare weapons, then I'd just use the souls to level up or buy upgrade stones.

So, just playing this game when I have little bits of time. Seem to be struggling to kill the black knight in Dead burg. He pretty much 3 shots me.

Try walking around him with your shield up and when he has done a particulary long or complex move with long recovery time, backstab him. Repeat.

@Ratt80

Yeah for my first 60 hours Epicnamebro gave me the confidence to fight bosses.I was still scared of this game until Blightown.

Now, can anyone help me here?
The soul of Sif makes a cursed sword that I could use.I hear conflicting info on whether its a +10 sword hilt, or +10 greatsword that you need. One source says I need the hilt, the other says the opposite. It is the Cursed Greatsword of Artorias that I want.

The cursed artorias greatsword is made from a normal sword, not a hilt one. (opposite to what you'd think). You can, however, double check it before actually finishing the upgrade and using his souls: the cursed one only does physical damage, the non-cursed one does both physical and magic damage.

Ah so I will see the name of what I am about to make as usual.I didn't know the boss souls would work the same.I bought a plain Greatsword from the merchant in Sen's Fortress so it looks like I am all set. Thanks dude.

The name is the same, but you'll see what kind of damage the weapon you are about to make will do in the modify weapon screen. You'll need any sword +10 and the soul of sif, and go to the giant blacksmtih in anor londo.

Okay so I need the physical damage only one.I hear that particular sword will save me from using transient curse items, which is gonna help lots I hope.

Whats past the New Londo Ruins?
I had left that area alone and just used that start of it as a shortcut to Blightown and used the blacksmith.I thought Anor Londo would be down there but its up on the mountain it turns out.Should I head down there again before I proceed?

New londo ruin is the home of one of the great lord(s) (the four kings ghosts are down there). You will neeb the abyss walking ring to even be able to get to them. You'll also need very stong gear to even be able to kill one of them.

It wasn't too hard, actually. All I did, since Ornstein is quicker than Smough, was keep both of them apart from each other. Since Ornstein's attacks are easier to block, I always take him down first. I'm going to try summoning Astora. His summoning sign is not too far from the fog gate and I never bothered with it. I may be able to beat them with his help.

Ah so that was supposed to be my reason for killing Sif.I shall leave that place alone until the game asks me to go there.Cheers.

Finally got to Ornstiem and slough.

I have 2 options to die from now. Can either go and fight those 2, or try and kill Lautrec. Both kill me equally as easy :(

I have no humanity (never do), is there anywhere in anor londo i could get some?
So that i can summon solaire for the boss fight. He helped me out with the 2 gargoyles, so hope he can manage it again.

Not even sure how i get out of where i am anyway to go someplace else for Humanity.

He is a tough one I admit. The best thing for you to do is to learn to parry and basically rapidly succeed in parrying all of the three dudes there. That, or you need to level up your gear a lot. You have hit a gold-mine for soul farming btw, the knights inside anor drop 900 per kill (1000+ if you parry them to death).

Good for you, a serious undertaking. I'm no trophy chaser, but I know how hard it is. What was the hardest trophy to get?

Managed to kill lautrec. Actually managed fairly easy with quite a bit of kiting up and down stairs till they were seperated.

Unfortuantly, 5 humanity was not enough.
Lost 2 humanity due to errors when fighting the 2 big halberd guys (such as pulling both without realising :\ ), and the rest on the bosses.

Had knight solaire+ random summoned each time, but on my very last humanity, i had Knight Solaire and a decent caster summoned.

We killed the skinny guy no problem, then was having no problems with the fat guy also. Then the fat guy got a hit on me.
I wasnt right beside him so i didnt bother healing as it should only of been a hit or 2 till hes dead anyway, plus i was still fairly high hp. Then he jumps in the air....

By the time i realised i should of started running it was too late. Just wasnt far enough away. Big aoe attack :(

He only had litterally 1 or 2 hits left till he was dead.

Dont really know whether i was closer to tears, or to screaming.

Out of humanity, so now i need to try and solo :\
Edit- Having watched a video, it doesnt really look hard to solo, just takes a bit of time. (hopefully)

I always forget about summoning other players. I should probably play online more often. ;)

The only downside to that is, there is no way for me to communicate I want to kill Ornstein last so I can get his armor.
