Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #23

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 4:38 pm

I know a lot of people feel that the whole Dragon threat has been played out already with the Skyrim MQ... but I think - story wise- that there's still a lot more that can be done with dragons.

In a future DLC (not necessarily Dawnguard) I'd love to see the rebirth of the evil Dragon Cult.
There's Dark Mages and Necromancers all over Skyrim after all, I could easily see them being tempted by a Powerful Dragon promising them power if they help subjugate Tamriel to Dragon rulership.

This plot could potentially offer:

New enemies
-- Living breathing Dragonpriests.
-- Evil Dragon Warriors.
-- NEW DRAGON TYPES!
-- Juvenile dragons that could be found in dungeon interiors.

New factions
-- Dragon Cult (totally evil): They worship Dragons, and want to help the dragons achieve complete dominion.
-- Dragon allies (neutral and good): They want Dragons to live peacefully alongside Men and Elves.
-- Dragon slayers (neutral and evil): The neutral members simply want to drive dragons away from Tamriel, the evil ones want an outright Dragon genocide.

Misc.
-- New Dragon NPCs
-- New weapons, apparel, shouts, and spells (duh)

Could be cool if they return.

it would, but it could completely ruin the fantasy vibe that makes the series great, which is why it would be better if they distance themselves for whatever reason.

Eh. I would rather turn into a dragon and eat people. But shapeshifting into a dragon would be ridiculous.

No, it would not be cool if they returned. In fact, it's probably be disastrous. What makes them so popular is the fact that they are gone. We only get clues about them and our imagination has to fill in the rest. The moment they bring them back that all goes out the window. Chances are they will not match up to most people's imagination and they will be ruined.

No, best to leave them as they are. A mystery.

Why does everyone care when there is a dev on the thread?
But while you are here FIX werewolves! Please.
Because if Devs are viewing we could get news or even talk to them.

how hard do you think the people at beth are laughing at the great debate that a pic and name cause...23 threads later at 7pages per thread and counting ;)

beth should realize that TES is serious business for many and listen to what fans want

I don't know why but I get the feeling that this DLC isn't werewolf related. Having said that I'd love them to throw in a Lycanthropy perk tree in with the DLC.

What are you talking about? Werewolves have no armor rating, they have no defense, and at higher levels they are useless. Also not to mention there are no forced lunar transformations, or no bonuses in human form besides disease resistance.

but its also mechanical, and if they brought back and merged the dwemer with other races, it would quickly become steam punky.

Ew no forced transformations. that'd be terrible. but i do agree the Werewolf's need to have armor ratings and higher damage ratings.

And? Uhh those things should be in the game. I am not complaining about the offence of werewolves because with their sprint power attack you can kill just about anything, but they need to fix the defence so I don't die in two hits from a Sabre Cat, or one hit from a bandit.

The Unconnected One: I am not saying they should get rid of the current Lycanthropy, but add the "normal" strain of Lycanthropy like we had in Daggerfall.

I think they would come back humbled and they would also have to rebuild as well just because they come back won't ruin anything you still have the crazy Divines and Deadra stirring up stuff all the time. If anything they would add more conflict and thats always good for a game.

Im guessing we will start out being asked by a legion/stormcloak officer to investigate a certain ruin that is infested with falmer. the dungeon turns out to be very long and at some point you start seeing Thalmor agents in there..

turns out the thalmor have been dealing with the Snow Prince in secret and are arming and training the few unchanged falmer to invade the outside, with promises of glory and elven supremacy on Tamriel. The goal of course being to further destabilize human provinces.

Ew no forced transformations.
You didn't expect there should be all these bonuses without drawbacks did you? Forced transformations is what makes the werewolf legend iconic. And in game, it makes sense to not have too many benefits or too many drawbacks.

Unless it comes from Bethesda's mouth or UESP. then it's wrong.
