Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #24

yeah vamps in skyrim, could be so much better, it is fun but the ability to feed in combat will transform being a vampire, and add realism, also if thats how you contracted the disease, it would just seem to fit more. as it is you can catch it by just having a sword fight with one which to me seems a little odd.

I think the combat feeding was a kill move, cos it would be OP if its a regular attack it immobilizes the poor sod, and your follower can easily attack as your svcking them dry
sorry for double post forgot...

Below me post
That's patch material not DLC, DLC will be pointlook out to shivering isle size, that probably means new land mass and quests not new stuff

Its well worth becoming a vampire already if you couple it with a certain restoration perk.

But anyway, I reckon the arrows could be a reference to the elemental arrows that were shown in the Game Jam video rather than them being bolts.

Werewolves already have yellow eyes. So my bet is the yellow glowing eyes being something to do with the lycanthropy perk tree.

Nah. I mean, yeah, werewolves do need some improvements but Bethesda already did a expansion based on werewolves(bloodmoon). And that wasn't big enough of an expansion since they added too many other stuff that got in the way of the story. But I don't see Bethesda doing anything werewolf centric. If anything, vampires haven't been in the spotlight. They should be, since they never were in Elder Scrolls games before. And people may have opinions about them, but remember, the damned dragons got the spotlight too. So did Daedra. So did Dagoth Ur.

yeah true, but just that if you can feed whilst npc's are awake it could keep you strong whilst being able to feel like a vampire, also the different abilities of vampires in the link, would flesh out a perk tree and transform what is quite a small skill into an entire play style, this makes me happy

Or not. I don't want to get out of topic, but Movarth Piquine is a Cyrodiilic vampire. And they all have similar traits as the Cyrodiilic vampires, including the fact that they can blend in, a power that only the Order of Cyrodiil can do.

But hey, this isn't a "Twilight" topic, is it now? Let's get back to discussing, erm, Snowy Princes.
Ah fair enough, I guess I was wrong. Either way, I'd like to become a Volkahir vampire.

Once a week if you could become a flying vampire lord that would own, if you could hypnotize people so after you feed they wont remember (no bounty) it would make it more realistic. or using vampire seduction makes the NPC want you to feed from them

how to fix werewolves

werewolves gain armor equal levelX1.5 (so at level one your wolf form as 1.5 armor rating, its a small amount but helps wolf form scale better in late game)
werewolves health increases by levelX1.3=X% [so wolf form health increase at level ten would be 13% more hp]
werewolves damage increases by levelX0.25 [at level 4 the damage increased per hit is 1]

and because you cannot wear gear durring this time in wolf form, your level dettermins your strength, and these values can be adjusted to make sure wolf form stays strong throughout the game, without becoming OP

I like a wolfies low def and high attack seems realistic, a dog wearing nothing but fur isnt going to have 150 armour value

I was criticizing the shameless rational for old mechanics made by fans, and he slapped me with. "its in the Books" leading to my defeat.
Well I agree with you there.

Well nobody ever said that, but I can see that being a possibility sure.

Could be right. The Game Jam video showed both a lycanthropy perk tree and (I think?) a vampire one.. They had a playable flying vampire lord anyway so maybe we could get both.
Reasoning why I think it is more to do with lycanthropy is A) The Yellow eyes and B) Many views I have read saying that playing a were wolf is a bit of a let down ATM.

Eh, just make werewolves like Daggerfall.

-Forced Lunar transformations.
-Enhanced abilities in human form such as strength, speed and stamina.
-Lycanthropy perk tree(includes armor, claws and etc).

For people to avoid complaint, they can just add a second method of becoming a werewolf. The second having forced transformations and etc. So people who contracted Lycanthropy from the Companions can go ahead and run around as a "werewolf" without worrying about turning during the full moon.

In the game jam, there were many things that were not shown. Vampire perk tree was confirmed by a developer here in the forums to be "messed around" with. I am assuming they might add a stronger vampiric drain and etc. I also heard from many people who played the leaked version of Skyrim that their werewolf characters had animalistic eyes. Perhaps Bethesda changed it in the release or maybe they were lying.

Only one instance did we see a yellow eyed werewolf in human form was in the Daggerfall Lycanthropy dream. Which was a bit...homo erotic? With a naked shirtless werewolf with washboard abs, long hair and yellow eyes. Guess Bethesda beat Twilight to the punch! Ha!

if your using that logic there is a lot of things that need the spotlight that have better story material as well, like akaviri races, sload and snow elves. :P

True. Then again it comes down to people's taste and what they want to see. Some people want to see the Snow Prince, other people want dragonmounts, some people want better vampires and etc.

We can already time travel in the game via the wooden mask so fitting Pre blind snow elves isn't that much of a stretch. The majority of Falmer also hid in the Dwemer ruins to escape being wiped out so they could have found an old Dwemer Tardis knocking about also. :ermm:

Well it was in Morrowind, but Uncle Sweetshare in Bloodmon had a unique white one.

And the things that could be done to improve werewolves for me is:
Forced lunar transformation (this can be added along with the optional transformation every day for all I care)
First person option, this would add a lot IMO, if only to immersion.
A perk tree and enhancements in human form, would also be nice.

But that doesn't make up an entire DLC, if we look at it:
- Dawnguard, could be just about anything.
- Snowprince, sounds like it could be something like a Falmer king or a powerful Volikhar vampire (spelling?)
- If it's a vampire we can speculate about Meridia and stuff.

I guess we'll find out at E3.

I reckon its about Meridia, I mean she does love the word "Dawn" and the whole glowing eyes would suggest something of the sort.

Huh? Sure, I guess. He could of killed some of them. But not the entire clan. Hell, he returned to the priest's chapel four days later after he fought the Volkihar. It would take a lot more than four days to wipe out an entire vampire clan at once.

Uncle Sweetshare. The Santa Clause-esque Moon sugar druggie? Haha, I remember him. I hope Bethesda adds someone like him as an easter egg. He was memorable.

I tell you guys, this Dawnguard DLC will be nothing from the Game Jam.It will be something completely different.Maybe they will include some ideas from the game jam vid but that's it.Anyways, they said more info on E3?!!
Are you kidding me?!
Possible release this summer, yeah sure.I had the feeling it would take another month or two but i lost my interest in it.I completed KoA and the combat is so addicting and fun compared to Skyrim and with Dragons Dogma coming out this month. There are too many other good games right now.And a summer release DLC,sorry Bethesda.
I'am surely not going to sit behind a PC or TV to sweat to death while playing some mysterious Dawnguard DLC.I have better things to do with wonderful summertime ahead.I will take a look at the PC Goty edtion when it comes out.Untill that i'am not going to buy anymore content. :bunny:

I see, well if the snowprince is what is the main story is about I have no idea what to make of anything really, unless he is also a vampire, or has an army of undead or something.
