Spears and more conjurations please.
I am hoping for spell creation and all of the old spells we once had, these two things I would love to see.

I'm hoping Dawnguard allows a return to Solstheim.I'd love to revisit there and see what's happened in the past 200 odd years...

I'm thinking a later DLC will have to do with Lorkhan. Where there is a Dragonborn there is a Shezarine. Where is your Shezarine?

I would love it if they gave us the commands and quests to start recruiting and training Dark Brotherhood initiates. Then when they reach a certain "level" we could send them out to start repopulating and re-securing the different Sanctuaries around Tamriel.

I would just like there to be more than six of us left...

Come on , Bethesda. Let us actually rebuild the Dark Brotherhood!

I wonder how they will add the expansion if it has new areas. Will it be a doorway like Shivering Islands, or a new Island appearing like bloodmoon?

All of those things would be amazing! Especially the whale and the other sea creatures, they could really make the sea at the north coast a lot more interesting...
That's what I got really excited about when I first got Skyrim. I was imagining all sorts of underwater enemies; Colossal Squid/Kraken, sea serpents ala Beowulf and Leviathon like creatures. Instead we just got slaughterfish and there isn't even a giant one this time lol.

I would hope that they'd just turn off the clipping on the invisible border walls and let us cross into the new area at our leisure. They've already got the base programming for three other provinces in the game, it wouldn't be hard to use them in full/part for an expansion.

As I think about it, I believe we have to take it for granted that the expansion will NOT - repeat, NOT - be within the province of Skyrim, unless it's a Blackreach kind of thing.

There's simply no room within skyrim to add new terrain features and a large collection of dungeons, crypts, caves and ruins. The province is stuffed to the brink as it is.

Im inclined to think so too. With all the hours put in the game already there will be no dungeons left to search. Or places to hide. It would be entirely logical that they include a new province/world. Im hopeful for a new province as I have only played Skyrim, and to go back and play the others, would be like dating the best looking girl in the world then dumping her just because you want to try dating others to say that you did. And since they already made the other provinces of Cyrodil and Morrowind in the past 2 games, they can almost cut and paste the provinces in. Plus it would be kinda a bonus to those who played the last 2 games to see the provinces now and how they changed.

1. Molag Bal, Azura, the Twin Lamps.

Several threads ago, http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1371845-dawnguard-and-future-dlc-discussion-thread-26/page__view__findpost__p__20743880 that the connection between Falmers and vampires could be Molag Bal. Molag Bal created the first vampire, Lamae Beolfag, the Blood-Matron. Moreover, Molag Bal is the Prince of Domination and Enslavement of the Mortals. Therefore, he might be involved in the narcotic enslavement of the Falmers by the Dwemers and its perpetuation even after the Disapearnce of the Deep Ones.

Azura's followers have already fought against vampires in the past, the specific example of Dratik appeared in Oblivion. Moreover, Azura is the Prince of Dusk and Dawn. Thus, Dawnguard could be the name of a faction of her worshippers, who struggles against Molag Bal. Let's expand a little railtracer's ideas...

Alas, Moonshadow is said to be so beautiful that it turns the ones who visit it blind or mad. Well. Maybe the Dovahkiin's glowing eyes are in fact an outer sign of the change which happened after his coming to Moonshadow? Maybe other people visited it in the past, and came back with such eyes, and were then wrongly considered blind? Or maybe those eyes are a blessing from Azura, allowing its wielder to walk into Moonshadow without harm?

The natural opponents of the Prince of Enslavement seem to be the Twin Lamps encountered in Morrowind. Now, would it be possible that its name originate in such a blessing of Azura, that the founder of this order had two glowing eyes, and was seen by his or her followers as the wielder of "Twin Lamps"? Could the Twin Lamps of Morrowind be actually a subfaction of a larger Dawnguard?

So a new hero, blessed by the "Twin Lamps", could have to free the Falmer from their perpetuated enslavement, restore them, and then fight against the worshippers of Bal's creature, Lamae Beolfag.

(Besides, if Lamae is featured in a DLC, or her followers, I hope we'll also meet the Shrieking Winds.)

Blug.. I wish I didn't read this.. this sounds so good that from now on the changes are high that I can only be dissapointed... :(

I was wodering that, but where would they add the extra area, unless it was part of another province. I really hope there is a new land mass, but it could just be like KotN and add extra bits to the province.

I think BGS mentioned before Skyrim's release that the expansions will be big but maybe nothing like new land. I may be wrong, but it does make sense since the game world is so big already.

I'm pretty sure we get to see new land... I'm personnaly thinking we will see Tribunal-sized expansions, which is just a bit smaller than Bloodmoon or the Shivering Isles (wich Todd Howard said once that they wouldn't go that size)..

Correct about the size, but in an interview a while back someone (forgot who, Gstaff or Pete Hines) mentioned that they benchmarked FO3's Point Lookout.

Yeah..but I've never came to play the DLC (even though I own the GOTY Edition of Fallout3) so don't really know how big that is... Just hope it's bigger than that Pittsburg DLC-thingy....

So here are some more ideas I think would be great for upcoming dlc. Just so we all know these are ideas that I'm hopeful for and in no way am trying to implement them into the game. Enjoy!

1. Remake the crime punishments
Well of course there should be more crime punishments other than just paying for a bounty. The whole point of having a bounty put on your head is that your a wanted man and you should be arrested on sight. For one, this punishment should have a more variety of effects such as being hunted by dangerous bounty hunters, seeing wanted posters in the cities, and family members hiring assassins for your death. If someone murders someone elses family member he's not going to be happy to see that he just paying off his own bail and is now walking around like nothing happened. So what if the player can't afford to pay off his bounty right now? Well there are many ways one can sneak into a city such as tossing a rope over the wall or maybe disguising himself. This way players just maybe might be able to sell any loot they might have collected without constant harassment from the guards and pay off their bounty. Also since when your in the Dark Brotherhood and you murder the emperor this should be a death warrant. Atleast make a quest to forge your death warrant so that you walk free or if needed...make it permanent. Make it a timed quest also where if there player doesnt stop their death warrant documents from leaving Skyrim they will forever be known as the man who killed the emperor and will be killed on sight.

2. Bring a hardcoe mode for Skyrim
This I would love to see in the game. Not just me but alot of people would love to see this in the game. Having to worry about feeding, drinking and giving your character some sleep would not make the game alot more interesting but it would also give players reason to visit certain vendors in cities such as the food sellers and reason to cook. I personally have never visited or bought anything from food sellers nor bought or slept in a bed mainly because I dont need it. Cooked food can give you some nice effects but I can eventually just find a potion with way better effects in the middle of a dungeon or buy the potion from a nearby alchemist. The beds also leave much to be desired. The resting effect is pretty nice but I dont really need it because most likely Im going to end up traveling to the otherside of Skyrim anyway so it would wear off before I got to my destination. Also I think it would be cool if Survival was implemented here also such as having to recover from a harsh blizzard up north. Having to keep your character from getting hypothermia could be a great reason for characters to have to take shelter from the blizzards. Also gathering up firewood and building small fires would be a great way to keep ones self warm after a harsh snowstorm and maybe give players more reason to want to work in the lumber mills.

3. Bring in joinable vampire clans
I think Vampire guilds or clans would be a great way to serve as kind of a refuge for blood-starved vampires. Since cities attack you when you are a stage 4 vampire why not join a group of vampires that attack you when your not at stage 4? I have killed guards at stage 4 and not get a bounty on my head so clearly they see me "as a vampire" and not as the real me. A little shop here and there would also be a great way for players to want to stay as a stage 4 vampire. Or maybe vampire dungeons welcome you with open arms as a stage 4 vampire. Or even buy out a nice cave and have vampire servants go out and kill people and bring back loot like in oblivion. The possiblities are limitless but These here are just some small ideas I thought of since there are rumors escalating about vampires being in the dlc these could be helpful.

4. Bring in the elven children and schools for kids
This to me came as a cute and realistic idea to bring into the game. Have elven and beast children running around skyrim. I always see normal human children running around everywhere so I think bringing in elven children and having them integrate themselves within society would be pretty fun to see. Also I have always wondered where kids go for an education so maybe put in a few schools in here and there. This could bring in a good opportunity for more quests for players to emerse themselves in such as stopping bullies or wanting to discipline bad (or their own if they have any) children in the middle of class. Or maybe when you are fully recognized as dragonborn children hug and gather around you wanting to hear stories about your adventures. Something like this to me could make the children play a bigger role in Skyrim's gameplay and maybe open up more lore for players such as new books about their adventures!

5. Joining the Thalmor
Personally I love the Aldmeri dominion. They are the baddest of the bad factions of the game. Also I like the idea of them rewarding me Aldmeri luxury such as colorful beds, maybe owning my own Thalmor stronghold or embassy, basking in their wealth and enjoying watching elves in skinky bikini's as far as the eye can see...ok Im getting waayy too ahead of myself here lol but still the opportunity has to come. Besides, the Dominion in my opinion is clearly the rightful rulers since they can actually hold what they own aside from the empire who couldn't even hold the stormcloaks at bay and barely survived the oblivion crisis.

6. Own a keep, castle, fort or large city
I would love to be able to own my own stronghold. Having a house was never enough for me honestly. I like to decorate my own stronghold with its own defenses, guards, and buying my own large house and decorating it as I see fit. This was also my most favorite thing about morrowind and oblivion where you got to own your own tower or fighter's stronghold. Something like this alot of fans would love to see in Skyrim. Alot of cool buildings inside such as a temple to the divines (or some other entity depending on delights your fancy).

7. More weaponry and artifacts
I would love to see some more weaponry available in Skyrim. Weapons I think would be cool are claw weapons, hidden blades (like from assassins creed), throwing weapons ( such as throwing spears, darts, or throwing knives), spears, slings, blow darts, polearms, or even pikes. Claws, of course could function as a damage fortifier for your hand to hand or maybe function as a dual wielding weapon like another form of daggers. Hidden blades is optional honestly since you can easily just sneak attack someone with another weapon. But these could function as more of a sneak weapon rather than an open weapon so for example you sneak attack someone with a dagger and it does 15x dmg correct? Well with a hidden blade it can do 30x or 45x as much dmg so as to give players reason to not have to wear the backstab gloves given by the brotherhood. Throwing weapons could also function as a sneak attack weapon depending on which one you use. Throwing spears could function as like a power attack weapon for ranged weapons and should expose you should you ever use this for sneak attacks. Throwing darts and knives could function as a ranged sneak attack weapon doing a certain amount of damage and can also function as a melee weapon should enemies get too close. Slings could be implemented also as a sneak attack weapon but with a twist. They use special bullets that can have unique effects like explode or knock an enemy unconscious if aimed at the head. Blow darts should be a good way to further implement the poisons you use. Mainly each dart should do 1 pt of damage so as to ensure the player that this should be for poisonous uses only. Spears, polearms, and pikes make good "keep-away" weapons. They should be slow attacks but each attack is a power attack and has a greater range and chance of staggering the enemy back, holding them at bay (thus was the purpose of spears in the dark times). Also I would like to see the return of many daedric artifacts from recent tes games like the daedric crescent (hope thats the right name) as well as many other artifacts too.

Anyway these are ideas that probably all wont get into the game but it would be cool to see in-game. I might get some more ideas in later. Hope you enjoyed it!!

~ snip~

#5 I disagree with. While it would be neat to join the Thalmor, it would only work in one specific scenario. The Thalmor also aren't the baddest of the bad. They took just as heavy losses as the Empire in the war, the White Gold Concordat wasn't just to get them into the Empire so that they could wipe out Talos worship, it was also because their forces were very much decimated as much as the Empires was.

You can't really make the argument that the Thalmor can "hold onto what they take". Example? Hammerfell. As part of the WGC, the Empire was supposed to hand over half of Hammerfell to the Thalmor because it would be a strategic border for the Dominion. The Redguards kept fighting, refusing to honor the WGC. The Empire told them to quit fighting the Thalmor, Hammerfell said "Screw you, we're not giving up our land."

The Thalmor threatened the war to start again if the Empire didn't do something (stupid bluff by a very weakened Thalmor), so the Empire kicked Hammerfell out of the Empire. Hammerfell is it's own Sovereign Kingdom again. So the Redguards kept fighting the Thalmor and soundly kicked them out of all of Hammerfell.

The Thalmor got their asses kicked by Hammerfell and lost all of the land that they tried to capture there. If Hammerfell can whoop that ass, then so can the Nords of Skyrim. In fact, it was Nords and Redguards on the front lines of the war that caused the Thalmor such heavy losses.

All of what I've just said is in the Lore, as well as easily obtainable in in-game books (you are reading those, right? ;)).

So to join the Thalmor may not be as grand of an idea as everyone may think. The only reason that they're in Skyrim is to wipe out Talos worship, but also to keep the Civil War going. As long as their is a Civil War, then there's less Nords to kick their ass a second time. And also, the Thalmor actually fear Skyrim breaking away from the Empire. If Skyrim goes secedes from the Empire, and allies with Hammerfell, the combined might of a Redguard/Nord army is really more than the Aldmeri Dominion would be able to handle.

Just my views on this new suggestion.

You're probably right. I reckon they might do a shivering isles style/size expansion, but it will be the last one they do, especially if the actual shivering isles release date is anything to go by.

But keep in mind the TES IV team was much, much smaller than the Skyrim dev team. So I would expect a lot of goodies, big or small, for a few years.

I can't wait until this is released on XBox and they start posting all kinds of spoilers. I'll have to take a month off from the forums so I don't ruin the game for myself. Way to split your player base, Bethesda!
I like to revel in anticipation and read the spoilers. They give me some insight in what to expect.

Point Lookout was bigger than the Pitt DLC. I think Point Lookout was the biggest DLC for Fallout 3, though I don't remember off hand how big Broken Steel was. That said, I'm hoping that Dawnguard is bigger than Point Lookout since they are spending so much time on it. They have clearly adopted a much slower release schedule for Skyrim DLC compared to Fallout 3, so it seem reasonable to me to expect more content.

Personally, I want to see a new area on the map. Ideally, I want to be able to walk into the new region, and expand the actual game map, rather than just be taken to a new area with its own map.

Ive got some ideas for vampirism. What if vampires could sacrifice their health with a spell like healing and put the health points into magic instead only the health points go through a multiplier so that the vampire gets more magic than loss of health. Like:

Level 1 Vampirism 10 health points x 1 = 10 magic points

Level 2 Vampirism 10 health points x 2 = 20 magic points

Level 3 Vampirism 10 health points x 3 = 30 magic points

Level 4 Vampirism 10 health points x 4 = 40 magic points

Another power I thought to go in conjunction with this ability is a sort of passive power only active a short while after health has been sacrificed that increases the damage of destruction spells or the effectiveness of all spells really. Its just this dark power that only gets stronger the deeper you are into vampirism. Alot can be done with this but heres an example:

Level 1 Vampirism Dark Frenzy - Frost spells now freeze oponents at 20% health/ Dark Frenzy Last 10 seconds

Level 2 Vampirism Dark Frenzy - Frost spells now freeze oponents at 25% health/ Dark Frenzy Last 20 seconds

Level 3 Vampirism Dark Frenzy - Frost spells now freeze oponents at 30% health/ Dark Frenzy Last 30 seconds

Level 4 Vampirism Dark Frenzy - Frost spells now freeze oponents at 35% health/ Dark Frenzy Last 40 seconds

Dont take this idea and write it off as just another stupid fan who wants an overpowerful vampire, this can go a lot of ways and doesnt have to be for vampires that was just a way to introduce the idea. It could just as easily be used to raise stamina and power melee attacks so that maces and hammers ignore even more armor, axes cause more bleeding and blades critical is way more likely to happen. The powers dont have to be leveled in stages like the vampires it could be set like a perk bonus is and improved with more perks.
