Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #31

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 12:57 am

I would love to play as a werewolf hunting for other monsters. That said they need to add a Lycanthropy Perk Tree or just boost the survivability.
I would prefer something along the lines of Totems of Hircine. It was fun slaying the Silver Hand with Aela the Huntress(the only one besides Skjor that understands something about being a werewolf), but there should of been more supernatural-like quests for werewolves. I think they should of scraqed werewolves off of the Companions and made them a very small tribe of werewolves trying to find the mysteries of the Totems and also perform hunting missions for Hircine, ala Bloodmoon where you receive visions from the Daedric Prince himself.

"Kill this person, fetch this trinket, and you will receive treats like a good doggie" type thing. With a good story and some of the folklore/Native American elements they had before, Bethesda could of definetly pullled it off.

Wow a person that can absorb Dragon Souls and can shout Storms has glowing eyes... he must be a Vampire!
Ha! You have a point. Still, that color and look just screams Vamp. They are a lot brighter than the Skyrim Vamp eyes but then again, that pic is doctored up for show.

Anyway you can be a vampire/werewolf and a hunter at the same time, which sounds kinda cool.
Wait, I thought you could only be a Vamp - Wolf by a glitch. Still, a Vampire hunting Vampires is not unheard of.

EDIT :

As long as they do NOT use that "L" word. That is a term I never heard before the Underworld movies. That would just be sad and cheap, if they done that.

But you can already get the totems of hircine...in the companions radiants...for whatever that is worth

The totems of Hircine should of been unrelated to the Companions. It was just meh.

Vampires in Skyrim have Sith eyes. The exact same irises and pupils as Darth Vader. I think Bethesda also borrowed from Star Wars. I have nothing wrong with it, the eyes are badass.

Very nice and I agree completely.

That direct and hardline influence with the companions was a mistake. It should have been a set aside.

These two shots look pretty similar to me. The DG shot just looks brighter.

This is exactly how I wish they had it. Maybe they will add in a village of werewolves, and you can do quests to help them get rid of other werewolves coming in their territory or something.

Not an entire village, but a small Grotto or something. I would want to see more Silver Hand vs werewolves thing with a good story, not just bandits who use silver and torture werewolves without having any clear motive.

If vamps are appearing i think it would be safe to bet that the "Vigilantes of Stendar" will also, hope we can join them :) OH hope they add some sort of warrior monk Armour like something similar that the "Knights Templar" or Teutonic knights wore!!!

Not necessarily a whole village, but a small town maybe of a group of werewolves, or a little tribe. I would like to see an actual story between the Silver Hand and some werewolves as well.

I would like this also, I thought the Vigilants of Stendarr were supposed to have a quest but they didn't. So having a new group with special armor would be nice.

I might be gettin' old...but I can still see, W&V.
These eyes all look yellow and the red is around the iris and just gives the appearance of being bloodshot. Even DV's Iris are yellow. I agree that they are the same as Sky Vamps, but that DG pic is the same yellow eyes. They are just runnin' with a higher wattage lamp.

Also about vampire eyes,Do eyes on vampires look different on every race? or do they just look different when you are on lets say stage 4 etc. havent really played that much as a vampire. just 3 or 7 hours

I was thinking that if they changed the Vamp Lord into an actual Volkihar instead of flying it would turn to mist which is like being a Wisp covered in a Frost Cloak Spell (i would assume) and maybe you could summon Ice Wraiths

Well, I don't see why so much people complaint about vampires.

First these aren't Volkhiars. Well, not a too bad news, as it probably means that they belong to another strain of vampirism, which maybe originates from another place in Tamriel. Then it possibly means we'll have new places to visit.

Second, of course, I would be disappointed if the only addition of the DLC was the ability to become a vampire warlord. However, I think it won't happen, and the DLC will probably give us the choice (isn't it what we all want?) of becoming either a feared vampire, or a vampire hunter. Or possibly a vampire hunter cured from vampirism. And after so many months, I would be extremely astonished if the sole purpose of this DLC was only to add some meat on the vampires.

Third, I think that even after the DLC, the player will have the choice, somehow, not to remain a vampire warlord forever, or not to suffer permanently from its effect. Otherwise, NPC would attack him on sight everywhere and it would be impossible for him to get into the second DLC without creating a new character, which would piss off many... And which Bethesda probably doesn't want...

Also, since it's likely that the vampires will get some more stuff with the DLC, I keep hoping that we'll see Volkhiars passwalling through ice and have more informations about the http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Opusculus_Lamae_Bal_ta_Mezzamortie.

Well, I think Bethesda could make the questline where we can become a Volkihar because what they could do is at the end of the questline, if you chose the vampire side you could get a special hood or helmet that hides your vampire identity so you can go into towns and stuff.

Rather than a hood i think it should be an enchanted amulet or something because we will still want to wear our cool armor that will surely be apart of the dlc

But we would need something to cover our face, otherwise everyone will notice that you are a vampire. This is why we would need a hood or helmet, rather than an amulet or ring.

Yeah, but I think that is a little farfetched because you would think at least some mages would know what you are, but if your face is hidden not even they could tell.

But would the guards not be suspicious? That would mean that the amulet is just as effective

I'm quite sure you'll be able to transform back and forth. Vampire lords are known to be extremely powerful, almost demi-god level beings. I wouldn't be surprised if they were able to conceal their forms. I know many of you think that that'd be impossible since only the cyrodillic vampires can do this, but vampires in many parts of tamriel are able to conceal their forms in different ways. Cyrodillic ones just have a special method by which they do so. Some of the Valenwood vampire nests actually bodysnatch children and live with the kid's old families, according to legend at least. Skyrim vampires are never said to NOT have this ability, just that according to legend, they prefer to remain bestial and isolated from society. I'm sure at least the most poweful among them can hide their true forms.

Mercenaries where full helmets too, at least some of them do. So I think the guards wouldn't be that suspicious of someone wearing a helmet that hides their face.
