Wait, I just re-watched gamejam and I think we might have something that wasnt talked about. Dark dungeons. We have night eye and detect creatures as a vampire lord and it would make sense. If I am correct on the Dawnguard screenshot too the Dawnguard should have "light" spells to fight the vampires.

I thought I had double posted at first and then I realised :P

After reading that article which i hadnt seen before I noticed the part in quotes 'whole new base you call your own' in regards to the dawnguard base, I hope it will be more than a small room with a chest and a bed :(

That would be interesting. Though, if they are adding dark dungeons, it should not just be new dungeons that are dark - that wouldn't make much sense. They would need to readjust the lighting in dungeons throughout the game, making dark the ones where it makes sense to be dark. That would be a major change to the main game, but it is possible because they have shown a willingness to make changes to the main game.

It says it's a power attack. I think it should be usable in both forms, considering we see a regular looking Nord bite someone in the trailer.
thanks. free biting !

Also wonder how word walls will look because if you see the dragon die instead of it buning away it makes a purple aura maybe due to it being in the soul cairne so the word walls might have been affected the same way in the soul cairne.Or the dragon is so powerful it will just teach you the shout and give you the soul once dead.

Also I dont wanna look like a beggar but no one even bothered to pass me a fishystick.

A lot of the dungeons are already lit though, i seldom find a dungeon that if allowed would be pitch black, it would be amazing though.

sorry if this is old info, I haven't been on this thread much today, but Kotaku is saying that dawnguard will have 2 new large landmasses: Soul cairn we knew about... but what would the other be?

Most of the dungeons have torches and lights throughout them. Making them pitch black would be a bit... Silly. If you ask me, the only dungeons that should be completely pitch black are ones crawling with vampires, vampire lords and gargoyles.

You should atleast have a choice and not be FORCED too.

Oh I'm all for the option to choose, I'm not saying you shouldn't but IMO you miss a lot of details in the kill animations while in 1st person, they happen so quick.

I enjoyed the Kotaku article. Especially when they talked about how big Soul Cairn is with all the castles and fortresses. Dawnguard is sounding better and better.

There has been some speculation that Dawnguard's main questline may require the player to proceed to at least a certain part of vanilla's main questline (the part where dragons enter the world as enemy encounters). Not sure if there is a direct confirmation of this yet, though.

The kotaku article explains that there are tons of side quests. Most have to do with either the dawnguard or vampires base... but others are placed into the vanilla game and left for you to find. Todd even says there is one large sidequest that has nothing do do with the dawnguard at all, but that he says is worth finding.

I remember hearing in an interview that there are side quests and that one of them in particular has nothing to do with the dawnguard/vampire quests and involves an 'epic' dungeon

That Kotaku article confirms that becoming a vampire lord cures you of being a werewolf. Now we just need a confirmation on how you become a werewolf again after curing yourself of being a vampire lord, though it'll probably remain a secret until Dawnguard launches.

likewise the beast blood must continue to run strong, im hoping that a way of allowing the player to gain the ability again will be to have roaming werewolves in the wilderness :D
