Dead is Dead - First Playthrough

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 4:43 am

Hello!
Who else, other than me are planning to play Dead is Dead exclusively from the start? I think it's a great rule of thumbs and adds alot to the experience.

You might of course want to create your own set of rules for such a Gamestyle.
I only reload a dead character if the death was caused by Bugs/Glitches with the software/hardware, but if i die due to my own stupidity i have to reload.

Certainly not on the first playthrough, it's not how it's meant to be played, and i think it's for a reason. Might be fun to try it out sometime though...

Not I. I want to get a feel for the game play before I try something like that.

Since i manage to die in first minute or two and some games, i think I'll do just fine with saving and loading.

Not me.Seems kinda stupid.I play games so I can wonder around without fear of permanent death. If I would like that I would go outside,to the wilderness.

It sounds interesting, but I'll save a DiD playthrough for later. I need to get used to the game first. (yes I know, I'm a coward).

I won't play dead is dead in any playthrough. I'm playing the game to enjoy it, not to get frustrated because I need to start a new game every time my character dies.

Well, as all the other posters, you like to get to know the game, and i understand that! Might just be me, i find it adds more gameplay hours, and i love "mourning" over dead characters, haha. It adds great value. :)

My first playthrough will be dead-is-dead. I like the intensity.

I will try my damnedest not to die (ie. I'll play it DiD style), but if I do die I will carry on.

Well, carrying on really destroys the purpose of DID, but i know what you mean. But as long as you know you can just reload the game, it really makes you more comfortable. Give me hell! :obliviongate:

Yes I'll play DiD from the beggining along with http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1250685-this-is-how-i-plan-on-playing-skyrim/ set of rules beause I want the game to be really hard. I want to feel like I've accomplished something epic when I first beat the main quest.

I'll probably have a more relaxed approach from my second playthrough on tho.

The odds are highly likely I'll get smushed by the first Dragon I see. So no.

I can't find myself commiting to rules like the above. But i guess they add quite the difficult meter! :cryvaultboy: I'll launch the game on Hard, DID and learn from there.

Moderators: If this is an actual in-game feature, then please move this thread to "Spoilers". Thanks.

On Topic:
I think permanent death or similar is something I'll try out later on, not on the first playthroughs.

No. http://graveyard.wikia.com/wiki/Dead_is_Dead:_A_gaming_playstyle_choice

It's a rule where if you die, you'll reload with no other "prompt" than yourself. :P

Dead is Dead is where if you die the game deletes your save file. Well that's how it works in X3:TC anyway.

Damnit, can't people just keep their mouths shut until release? /rant.

this is not a game feature, this is a play style.
