Did Bethesda drop the ball with Skyrim?

I actually like the look of Dwarven armor, and to some extent glass armor. But you see, that's the problem your tastes are different from mine but on occasion I'm forced to use the armor that you like and you're forced to use the armor that I like.

How many heavy armor characters have we all created that bought/smithed a set of iron armor at Riverwood, and then later bought/smithed a steel armor set in Whiterun, and then later replaced it with smithed Dwarven or at least Orcish armor? I feel like I'm playing an MMO and progressing up the 'equipment tree', gearing up to the next tier of epics every so often. And I really don't understand why some people are trying to sit here and tell us that more choices are bad, or we shouldn't desire them...

Is the game perfect?
No.
Is it epic, and worth every penny?
Defiantly.
Am I looking to Elder Scrolls 6, with new and exciting improvements?
You betcha.
Did they drop the ball?
No.

I usually skipped Dwarven armor and ran with steel until I got to orcish.

My sword/board imperial went blades weapon/armor as soon as I could get them and never looked back.

I could at least understand why dwarven looks the way it does. What culture makes glass armor? And who the hell makes armor from glass anyway? Like I said before, I end up looking like Aquaman's bodyguard.

There are any number of game mechanics that can be argued around. My biggest gripe is the very short quest lines of some major factions and the lack of depth of most NPCS. On the former, TG and DB are pretty good. Mages guild not so much. Still haven't gotten to companions and the MQ. On the latter, while certainly every or even most NPCs cannot be fully fleshed out, I would have preferred a few companions to be, even if it meant fewer companion choices.

But that's my $.02. As for dropping the ball, it's made of gold and has been dropped into the bank :)

With Skyrim being my first Elder Scrolls game, I can't miss these things so the game seems pretty great to me
