Did you become bored of Skyrim quicker than previous Elder S

Sadly, yes I grew bored of Skyrim much faster than Morrowind or Oblivion. I had high hopes for Skyrim.
I was disappointed.

No.... The game is still blowing my mind. And I havent even scratched the surface. Easily one of the best games Ive ever played, and the best Elder Scrolls game (having played the crap outta Morrowind and Oblivion)

Its like stepping into another world, like no other game I have ever played.

Subsequently, the enjoyment factor hasnt waned much since purchase on 11.11.11..... Its actually put me off buying other games, simply because Skyrim has so much, why bother with other sub par and fankly contrived, predictable gaming experiences?

I was toying with picking up Kingdoms of Amular, but honestly I dont see the point when Skyrim is so majestic, and frankly I havent got the time to sink hours into another game.

So Skyrim keeps me going and going and going...................................................... DVT ahoy !!! lol

Didn't read through the whole thread, but no, I'm not getting bored with Skyrim. About to finish the game, then go finish Mass Effect 2 in time for ME3's release, then I already know what my next character in Skyrim will be like.

I was bored...but then...the creation kit came out  Now i'm sitting and modding my own dungeons, fixing some bugs and sorting out whatever stuff i was bummed about

Followers sorted.
Marriage system sorted.
I have a bigger house now on the cliff.
No more fast travel.
Must sleep, drink, eat food.

Harder difficulty (trying to sort out hit "boxes")

Using PS to make my own daggers and bows (sigh we don't have enough of those).
Most of the stuff is on beta atm (got friends helping me out).

But some of the stuff is just for personal use. (Why?).
Well have you seen the SW? People are complaining instead of giving constructive feedback and then they're DEMANDING that the mod is made to their liking.
i.e a guy wants the bookshelf moved 2 inches to the right, whilst the other people wants it 3 inches to the left. Instead of asking they're freaking demanding it....So i'm just saying, for those tools that can't mod and complain/demand, let them sort stuff out themselves.
For those that don't know how to mod, but are asking politely! They deserve a hug

What i'm trying to say with my long rambling, if you're bored with this game and you're on the PC. MOD! ;D

It's people getting to bossy and spoiled.

Morrowind I played...I guess 300+ hours. I hated Oblivion after one week (say 30 hours), because vanilla Oblivion was SO bad. I lost all interest the moment a bandit in full daedric armor appeared.

Skyrim...I am now at around 250 hours (I played the first two weeks in offline mode so Steam did not track my playtime) and I am far from being bored. I take my breaks though. So I guess no, Skyrim is easily on the same level as Morrowind.

Played it so far for about 220-230 hours or so. Tried various characters and on my 4. assassin build now. The game is still a ton of fun, I did have a break where I played SWTOR, specially now with the creation kit out. I installed a realistic light mod and it really makes exploring the wilderness and dungeouns a better experience. Now dungeouns are properly dark unless you have a light source or use night eye ability. Playing as a Nord I did also download Midas Magic and made myself the night eye spell to compensate a bit for the extra darkness. Will install later today a mod that makes traps much more dangerous to make dungeon crawling more hazardious. With Mods I see myself adding easy another 100-150 hours into the game. I still need to finish all the mayor quest lines in the game, my assassin is level 45 not yet entered Dark brotherhood, not yet finished thieves guild story line or any other faction storyline.

Did you become bored of Skyrim and feel like you have "finished" all that you want to do, in a quicker time frame than previous Elder Scrolls titles?

Simple answer, yes.

I played Skyrim long enough to realize I wanna go back and play Oblivion. Don't get me wrong, I liked Skyrim, but it doesn't have the same staying power with me as previous TES games. Actually kind of bummed I bought it and didn't just Gamefly it which is not my usual reaction to a Beth title.

Yes, yes, YES! I remember when I first got Oblivion, I played it for two months straight and I didn't even know about mods back then. After that I got morrowind and played it pretty much the whole summer.

Now, Skyrim is out and at first it was really awesome... but it's just so small compared to previous games. I'm not talking about the size of the game world. Both Oblivion and Morrowind had longer and more interesting main quest, much longer guild quests and I believe much, much more side-quests (those random copy-paste quests Skyrim has, don't count). Also the character development is meaningless in Skyrim, no matter what you do, you can become really good at everything really fast.

Also, I really miss the good soundtrack previous games had. Skyrim only has this awesome opening song, but I can't even remember any other music from the game. In comparison, I get shivers every time I hear the morrowind or Oblivion soundtrack.

I really hope the DLC-s will add a lot more content to the game.

Im just getting into the game.
I've got 65 hours in and it still feels like I haven't even done anything. I don't play for 5+ hours straight anymore like I did in the Morrowind days, but Skyrim is still fun for me.
People who play Skyrim as there first TES game will probably be more "addicted" than veteran TES players...

I think it depends on the order you play them in. The second thing you play in any series is never going to be as fresh because much of the lore and so forth is already familiar to you.

I played them in the Oblivion, Morrowind, Skyrim order, with diminishing returns. Although I think if Skyrim was my first TES game that would be at the top of my list because it would have been during Skyrim that I immersed myself in TES lore.

this is because the game was stripped of rpg elements, streamlined to please a widier dumbier audience , and simplified to a mere hack and slash pushing buttom consolle game ... I hope they understand the lesson and start fixing it back to what shoudl be like a ES game a RP game , not listening to all those false praises from the blog Reviewers ....

Nope, no-where near bored of Skyrim yet, though I have 'only' clocked up 70 hours.
I never get bored of morrowind.

I can't believe it... 'bored' and 'Skyrim' in the same sentence?

I've been playing hundreds of hours now and finished the main quest (I don't like to see this as 'beating the game') but every day (yes, you could call me addicted) I discover new places, new quests, new people, new situations, ... I feel like I'm never getting tired of this... I'll probably still be playing it when I'm retired. I LOVE this game: the atmosphere, the music, the world, etc. And no whining nostalgic will ever take the fun out of it for me. Because it's all about enjoying it, right?

I always go to bed with the idea: "I still want to buy this house and do that quest and try this follower..." and I get up with similar thoughts in the morning...

The creators did an awesome job! It's something that should be emphasized more often...

I don' know how you defeated your enemies in previous TES titles, but I distinctly remember hacking and slashing by spamming the attack button as the only method that ever worked for me. I must have missed that part where I laid down the fury of stand-up-comedy on my opponents... I also never found any other solutions to most of the central plots in the previous TES titles, than to simply kill something. TES games requires extremely little intellectual capacity for success, they've always been that way, don't pretend that the previous titles were any "smarter".

Yes I've become very bored with bugrim.
its always played good on my xbox, the only problem i ever had was the patch that broke magic resistance, the last 2 patches have fixed a lot of stuff and most of the bugs though inconvinient were still easy to work around....so i doubt you really played it much of must of had a crappy system to play the game on...lol ...as a matter of fact, the day it came out it played really well....the first patch was a good one and it ran smooth with it..i never had a problem with continuing any of the quest chains...even the forums don't have that many complaints since the bad patch back in december and as of today, the game is working good for most people and so maybe you need a new system to game on.
