I guess the difference is that I don't expect companies to behave that way. When it comes down to it, if a company thinks that damage control when they behave badly is cheaper than behaving in a more consumer-oriented way they'll go ahead and opt for damage control. Fight Club comes to mind here.

I fully expect companies to act in their best interest in every situation, and when that happens to also be in the consumer's best interest I'm pleasantly surprised.
I don't expect it, either, really. Ha ha. We consumers barely make a dent when we do anything to fight back, s'why I laugh happily when I see things like Spore being downloaded in its millions, it makes an impact where it hurts: The Corporate Coffers. *dun dun dun* They pay attention then. lol
TBH when companies act in the best interest of the consumer, I'm just too busy not noticing I think, lol. I expect something, and if I get it I'm pretty uh, unaware that it should have been otherwise. Meh. Money = promised product. If something fails, is lacking, picks my pocket... then I notice. lol
