DLC Suggestions #3

Post » Mon Mar 07, 2011 12:06 am

The odds are that the DLC for this game will be off the map. In Fallout 3 all of the DLCs with the exception of Broken Steel (which was partly off the map) were off the map. This doesn't mean there won't be on the map DLCs for New Vegas, it just means it isn't likely.

I'd like a DLC that takes you to Legion occupied territory that has been fully romanized. The context is that there is a rebel faction emerging in Caesar's territory, it has the potential to be a great ally to the NCR, Mr House or yourself while it has the potential to cause a big problem for Caesar. The rebellion is not openly fighting (not immediately at least) and is well integrated into society, whatever it may be like. The reason for you going there could be one of many: You could side with Caesar, in which case he asks you to deal with a rebellion in one of his territories. You could side with the NCR in which case they ask you to assist the rebels in order to destabilize Caesar's regime. Or you could do it for yourself or Mr House in which case you are heading there to help the rebels in return for support at Hoover Dam.
The main reason I would like to see this sort of thing as a DLC is that I would like to see what it is like to live under Legion rule, in the Mojave wasteland you only see their camps and forts whereas in a place like Arizona you would see Legion society as Caesar would want it to be. Would there be imitations of Roman baths? Viaducts? Coliseums (rather than the dirty little pit you can fight in in the fort)?

I'm with you, but they should base it in Yellowstone Park. I really like how new and dangerous Caeser's Legion is to the fallout universe. I'd like to see exactly what you're talking about, only base it after the game ends. kind of like Broken Steel.

I would like to see a DLC that involves the Super Mutants and Marcus at Jacobstown. Maybe expanding the story of the NCR trying to cleanse the area of the mutants, with some moral decisions to make (think: The Pitt).

They could totally do something for a tribute to Road Warrior too. make it the first DLC where you see trucks cars and dune buggies...and you get to drive them

Well since all the bugs, glitch, and freezing in this game. We need at least 2 FREE DLC for all the troubles. I mean RockStar games gave a few Free DLC for Red Dead Rev. for all problems it had, only seems fair!

Maybe mentioned before. But.... possible spoiler people.

Sierra Madre, a poster saying Sierra Madre and some graffiti also saying "Gone to Sierra Madre" are in the abandoned BOS Bunker. No other mention of this mystery location in the game.
Edit: I looked it up and Sierra Madre city is approx. 250 miles from Las Vegas. Compared to The Pitt being 310 miles from D.C I reckon if they do make a DLC it is definitely plausible

I think that a legion DLC would be the way to go like as a reward for helping Caesar he gives you a nice house in the Captial in Arizona and you have to generally help the Citizens of the legion through side quests and a couple major ones that could help the legion get better Equipment (the Southweat has alot of military intallations) and new armor, weapons, items and all the other general DLC goodness.

My recommendation for a DLC:
issac(from talent pool) gives you a quest/path to new reno and can go back and forth from new reno and mojave wasteland and issac wants you to
go to the shark club and find Bishop or the new owner like do something about him but the owner doesnt trust you so he needs you to do something(quests)

i have one more:
A person(NCR) from the Hub lets you do a quest that lets you go to shady sands i think its the HUB ncr HQ and you can go back to the mojave and back to the hub like
my first recommend and like you get to the NCR hq and do some quests that i didnt think of yet.

I hope obsidian likes this dlc suggest.
:celebration: :fallout:
or i be :( lol joking

So no it isn't- because if you look at a map, you'll notice none of those are particularly near the northern border of Nevada, much less the southern tip where Vegas is. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.digital-topo-maps.com/county-map/united-states-map.gif&imgrefurl=http://www.digital-topo-maps.com/county-map/&h=453&w=750&sz=38&tbnid=30sVmRVijmJQ0M:&tbnh=85&tbnw=141&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmap%2Bof%2Bunited%2Bstates&zoom=1&q=map+of+united+states&usg=__BZbbEuJ9C808vtNoD6baMEIsNHk=&sa=X&ei=FlvbTIGqNYfEsAPuw_TlAw&ved=0CD0Q9QEwBA that Idaho touches Nevada's north border- but if 1% of the park is in Idaho and 96% is in Wyoming, then there's a tiny sliver of park in the part of Idaho that doesn't touch Nevada, and the part of Nevada that touches Idaho is as far away as it's possible to be from Vegas.

How about something in the http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.vacationidea.com/pix/img25Hy8R/article/arizona_map.gif&imgrefurl=http://www.vacationidea.com/articles/arizona_map.html&h=520&w=488&sz=86&tbnid=YfN5255Q_6x41M:&tbnh=131&tbnw=123&prev=/images%3Fq%3Darizona%2Bmap%2Bgrand%2Bcanyon&zoom=1&q=arizona+map+grand+canyon&usg=__pBxLRcdVWoq6I5tkH4ANuxRBfxU=&sa=X&ei=KVzbTOOHJYPAsAO7quGvBw&ved=0CDIQ9QEwBg, that's much closer.

The Grand Canyon

Meteor Crater

Phoenix

Maybe somewhere in Mexico around Mayan or Aztec ruins...just transport the player to a (slightly) far away land.

A DLC where you get to go to a mysterious swamp filled with inbred monsters and complete a series of quests for an ornery corpse... and I DEMAND an H.P. Lovecraft reference.

I am a fan of the ideas of having the Luck7 38 be opened with the Wild Card / Mr. House Endings. Also, the Area 51 idea seems very popular as well.

here's some ideas (possible spoilers):
  • allow the player to continue playing after the main quest ends
  • raise the level cap to 35 or 40
  • a DLC set of missions that involves going to the moon--possibly throw in something about a moon base that was ghoul-ified , in case the player didn't let the bright brotherhood ghouls make it to the moon--it could be like mothership zeta, but with much more than zeta. you could be clever and add functionality to the spacesuit you find in 'fly me to the moon'! or, if you feel like it's too outlandish to send us to the moon, make it so we are in a simulation or operating a drone remotely.

In the Central Sewers (Below McCarran) there is a sealed door, Perhaps a city of survivors oblivious to the fact of people still being alive?

Or maybe another Necropolis.

EDIT: Oh! And the Simulators in the Nellis Base.

1 This makes the endings sliders pointless.
2 Didn't we learn the lesson with Broken Steel?

Fallout is restrained to games in the U.S. no matter what or something like that.

Well, Fallout Extreme was going to take place in China a little by the end.
And Resource Wars was going to be set in Europe IIRC.
And a spin-off game could always take place outside the US.
But for a DLC?
Nah, too far away to travel.
Rather have something interesting close by.

Something to do with the Enclave/Remnants, specifically Poseidon Energy and the Oil Rig.

Oil Rig would be hard since it lies in a million pieces in the bottom of the sea.
And Enclave presence has been really minimal in this area.
Would be nice with some kind of splinter faction of the Enclave to expand on their story in a different way.

Btw, your avatar creeps me out. O_o

I would like more perks and an option to get a perk every level, how about some better energy weapons.

DLC that makes the game not end and allows you to see some of the changes to Vegas

Visit Jason Bright's colony by rocket
