DLC Suggestions #3

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 9:52 pm

i really like the referencing from the other fallouts that vegas did, it was stupid that fallout 3 neglected alot of the history.. The mention of New Reno, and Marcus the Mutant gave me some comfort... even though I dont see how marcus survived..

Anycase I think more areas like vegas in dlc will make it great, yea vegas wasnt as lively as New reno was.... it had lots of stuff going on and Vegas should of had more NPC fights and Raids going on. Seemed a little less lively after you ran some tasks on vegas. The Kings should of had competition, I noticed some ppl made a mod where they fight the Tunnel Rats.

I think it also needs more lively vaults with little communties in it, not always monsters... I like the idea of the overseer refusing to allow a breach in the vaults society.

They also really should of put "Kick" in the game too, Man I miss being able to punch and kick... Stomps cool though. Maybe someday they will master the ability to throw and do melee combos making the game more unarmed friendly... I really like the boxing in fallout 2 as well, seeing the golden boxing gloves really got my hopes up. Little touches like that make the game awesome, not just a bunch of random arenas but Boxing, gambling, drinking contest.... Peer influeince.. Gang Initiation... Imagine a gang making you overdose on jet to join... A lot of this rpish flavor was missed a little in vegas, the quest seemed very straight forward.

You have the right idea about making freeside and vegas a more better place. Under ground drug dealings, dog fights, high stakes boxing matchs. Not just the death arena outside of vegas. Alot more useable houses in freeside with people just sitting in the dirt. Im thinking early 1900s slum life. In big citys. And people will sneak up from behind u and pick pocket ur most valuable items istead of charging at you with a knife hoping to god they can pirce your power armor with it... After level 3 nothing can kill you besides maybe a bunch of kings. Make freeside more messed up by making a new gang in town show up to up root the kings by adding sewers under freeside and all the other small districts around vegas. You need a gang that the ncr or who ever else cant get rid of or cant blame them for anything. And I think their main wepond should be the lcr the thompson looking thing. Like pre world war 2 mobsters had. Freeside is called a ghetto it doesnt seem like one. The kings wanna help everyone. Silver ruah doesnt do anything. Freeside needs to be turned on its head. I want to feel more safe in the wastes then in freeside.

And it's time for some trait suggestions for the DLC's again:

Bruiser
You get +2 STR, +10 melee and unarmed damage and are less likely to be knocked down.
But you get -30 AP and -20% stealth field.

Quick Learner
You get a 4th tag skill, 2 additional skill points per level and +10% in exp gain.
But you get a perk every third instead of every second level.

Skilled
You get 4 or 6 (depends on balance) more skill points per level.
But you get a perk every third instead of every second level.

Twisted Mind
You have a certain charm less moral people find very appealing.
But more moral people don't trust you as easily and can downright attack you out of fear.

Gunslinger
You get a +10% damage and accurcy with pistols and revolvers (EW and Guns) and reload them quicker than before.
But you get -10% damage, reload speed and accurcy with rifles and larger weapons.

Greater Metabolism
You get more health from eating and drinking and limbs are stronger.
But you don't heal as fast or as effective with stimpacks.

Rat
You get a +10 to your stealth field and your sneak skill and +10% sneak attack critical hit damage.
But merchants in towns are very suspicious of you and won't let their eye off you for a single second and will practically stalk you.

Jinxed
You have a chance with all combat styles to knock down an opponent, automatically knock their weapon out of their hand and break their limbs more easily.
Downside is, they have the same chance on you.

Chem Reliant
Chems give a better bonus. (Jet +10ap, psycho+10%dmg, Mentats +1 INT etc)
But you are more prone to addictions and the bad effects are enhanced.

Healing Rate (hardcoe mode)
You heal faster.
But limbs break more easily.

Here's a trait for you:

Old Fashioned

Revolvers, Rifles, Brass Knuckles, and Dynamite do more damage, are more accurate, and degrade more slowly in your hands. However, all other weapons take a penalty in all three fields, plus energy weapons and powered armor are impossible to equip.

Fallout is restrained to games in the U.S. no matter what or something like that.

Source?

But for a DLC?
Nah, too far away to travel.
Rather have something interesting close by.

You don't visit Anchorage. You enter a training simulation.

OT: Florida, because it's the only American state I've been to, plus there's some potential for new bugs and reptiles (I wanna see some mutated alligators and more lizards).
Or just some two-headed bears to hunt. That'll do me.

I remember when i played Fallout 3 on pc, I loved the Settler mod, but I got New Vegas for PlayStation 3, and then i thought: Oh, no mods, huh, well maybe I can hope for some funny DLCs.
Well, I really want a DLC thing that is very much like the Settler Mod in Fallout 3 (PC), so we console players also can have fun with things that looks like great mods :)

Oh, oh and a DLC that would somehow brought you to Norway, where you will meet the powerful TROLLS :D

Its Kind Of Common Sense. Fallout Is Set In A Universe Where The World Has Been Bombed. If Americans Were To Make A Game Where Another Country Was Bombed..... Get The Picture. Its Just Kind Of Like Americans Making A Game About America And Iraq Going To War. Dont Bash On Me Please. You Might Think This Is Stupid, But Its Just The World We Live In. Trust Me... I Think Its Pretty Dumb Too. Just Like Resident Evil 5. Capcom Almost Got Sued Because A White Guy (Chris) Were Killing A Bunch A Black People. The Only Reason They Didnt Was Because Sheva Was In It.

I wish they would somehow implement talking Deathclaws into the game. They had them in Fallout 2 it would be nice to see them in New Vegas. Goris was a talking Deathclaw that you could take as a companion in Fallout 2 maybe a run in with him like Marcus would be cool or maybe a possibility to have him as a companion again.

They kinda die.
The only two known to have survived were Goris and Xarn.

I know they die I just want them back. ): Goris is the only one that could actually make a return either in New Vegas or another Fallout. I think Xarn wouldn't be able to come back because there were different choices involving him he could either live or die if I recall correctly.

I want a DLC on the PC. Seriously, it's the platform the series started on and Bethesda is leaving us in the dust. I imagine they'll still release it, I just don't think it's fair to their fans what they're doing. So for God sakes Bethesda, stop being a [censored] for Microsoft.

You got the GECK correct?
Funny, I think it's really "fair" to the console users to get the DLC's seeing as how PC users can have unlimited mods.
Besides, I'm sure they'll release them on the PC later on anyway.

That was a terrible point. Seriously. Why should we not get DLC just because we have other mods? I see where you're coming from, but it would be just as easy for them to release it for all platforms. What about the PS3? They're getting screwed even worse. But I guess this thread isn't for this so if I wanted a DLC, I would want something featuring the BoS more.

I'm sure you'll get the DLC's at some point as well, if not, then yes, I don't like that either. (That would be unfair to never give PC users them)
But if you get them, just a year later than us on the console then you still have the mods to keep you occupied. ;)
PS3 gets screwed worse? I thought they were going to get them just a bit later than xbox.

Or the option to tell them where to go and wait, so that if I bought the place in Novac I could tell them to go to the motel room and if I've unlocked a safe-house to be able to tell them to go to BOS safehouse etc.

Legion Gladiator DLC

It’s a bit of a Gladiator / Spartacus thing. The Courier is captured during a Legion raid for slaves and is taken to a Ludus (gladiator school) in “Legion City”. The Courier has to survive gladiator training then work out how to escape in between fighting in the arena.

For convenience I am calling the Courier him, please no “your being sixists” comments.

The Courier is approached by a temporary companion (TC) to help him with a problem near the Mojave / Legion border. When they get there the Courier falls ill and TC takes the Courier to an abandon shack. During this time the Courier is falling in and out of consciousness so the Courier only remembers a few things.

- TC telling him that he needs a doctor and that he is going to get help, there is food and water beside you and I have stashed your equipment under a hidden trap door under your bed.

- Some crashing (the door being broken in) and a legionary standing over him saying “It looks almost dead should I kill it?” With an unseen voice saying “Check with the slave master first”

- Unseen voices talking Medicus / Slave “Dominus I think he will live, he’s over the worst of the fever and we should be able to move him in two days.” Dominus “Why bother he looks dead anyway?” Medicus “He’s a fighter. That fever should have killed him, when he recovers he will be worth a lot of money to you. Plus we are using this place as a base camp so me getting him on his feet will not inconvenience you.”

- Medicus crouching over him talking softly “I have bought you a couple of days so if you have friends coming for you I hope they will be here soon, and I hope there is a lot of them for there will need to be if they want to rescue you.”

The Courier comes to but is still weak and has his hands manacled and a slave collier put on him. The Medicus comes up to him and says “If you want to live do not fall down, if you do they will kill you.” The trip to the ludus is all a blur mostly looking at the back of the slave in front of him.

This plot would have appeal to both players that like to play a melee / unarmed character and players that use ranged weapons. For melee / unarmed players there will be a lot of that style of game play in the arenas and for ranged players there is the challenge of mastering a different style of game play. Also in the arena the Courier will be given different types of weapons and armour for each bout.

Note – as the character’s equipment is hidden in the abandon shack the equipment will not be lost and can be retrieved after the character has escaped the legion.
- As the plot takes place deep in Legion territory and Caesar is at Fortification Hill it should not interfere with the main plot.
