I've listened to the Nyan song while reading the adventures of Numinatus and it was quite fitting. Imo it's nice that we're finally exploring this other area of the lore.

Yup. Ideal scenario is the crashing of your browser and/or computer.

I was reading this thread, and I got a BSOD. Just karma acting weird, I guess.

http://9gag.com/gag/4032428Seriously, Nerevar should conquer 9gag. I'm confident I spoke for all fans in that post.

And oh, lovely drawings.

I've got a stupid question: in which "right now" is this all taking place?

Yeah. I'm not sure if it's taking place in the Reman Empire or in the distant future.

Yeah. I'm not sure if it's taking place in the Reman Empire or in the distant future.

It's most likely during the Void Nights.

After all, the moons are still orbiting Nirn while all the continents fled to a different planet, which could be enough like Nirn to fool people into thinking it's Nirn.

In Void Space, time is geometric. So, I'd ballpark it with terminus post quem in the cubic half-volume of the current egg.

I for one welcome the effort you two are putting into the expansion of the more fantastical, spacey side of TES. This is great. And I think it would be awesome if our good Professor (and company?) made even just a small cameo in the next Elder Scrolls game. After all, it is a bit odd that all of this lore hasn't made any sort of a meaningful impact on the games yet.

You're certain that this is the same Jauffre as http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Jauffre?

Oblivion's Jauffre is a Breton, whereas this Jauffre is referred to as an Imperial. Although, this could simply mean "of the Empire" and not a Cyrodiil.

I took it to mean the latter. Its probably too tough to discern the race of any of the mananauts anyway because of those helmets they're wearing. Besides, they're all described as "Imperial Mananauts".

The Emperor is there too.

There was this one time when we were a buddy-cop duo in 1980s Los Angeles. She was a strictly by-the-book blue squirrel fresh from the academy; I was a cynical, alcoholic series of stills from old b&w films just three days from retirement.

That actually sounds much more interesting than you and her as a couple.

So tell me, where's the movie "Hellmouth: Renegade Cop." that I saw a poster for oh so long ago?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=td62Mo5BlVA, I do so love your work. The cognitive descriptions of advanced Dwemer techno concepts are genius and I always get a kick out of it. Morrowind sort of changed my life!

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1366156-a-new-break-is-upon-us/ that I’m down on the lore in some way, but truthfully it has been a constant source of inspiration. Love, and gratitude. That's what my dad always says :)

While I rather like what you're writing I understand precisely none of it. Sigh. Just when I think I'm beginning to understand lore some egg-metaphysicist comes along and fishsticks (read: [NUMINIT]) my zero-sum authority (read: [NUMINIT]).

I actually think this is one of MK's more straightforward works. When he writes scripts like this he seems to decline the use of made-up words and confusing sentence structures, and that really improves reading clarity. So I haven't had much trouble understanding it so far.

Mmm, I love it. TES...it has everything, just about, and not just fantasy, and that is what I love. I want to attempt to draw this for fun, though I admit my drawing skills aren't very good. But...I may try. :3

So very excited about this thread! <3 Can't wait to see more!

Why is it always spaceships and time travel these days? Why can't we stick to gods and demons and heroes and myths? What's wrong with chaos versus order, or the cultural evolution and mutation of ancient principalities?

I mean, I'm sure this is going to be good. It just doesn't feel like the Elder Scrolls. I know, I know, alright? Mananauts and Sunbirds and all that, they're technically canon and so on. But you can't feel them. They aren't what you think of when you think of the Elder Scrolls. You think of primal antitheses and dead gods and recursive worlds and mythopoeia and spliced godheads. You think of CHIM and Vehk and Towers. But you don't think of digital communication and space travel. Operating systems, internets, artificial intelligence, these don't fit with what you can see and know. Not outside the Dwemer, at any rate.

Eh. Ugh. I feel like a heretic. I know its bad form to disrespect the work of MK, and I'm not, really. This just...doesn't feel right, to me. The Fights and Shor Son of Shor and, sure, the entirety of Morrowind. All these feel like they fit. A time-travelling spaceman whose cousin's brain has been transplanted into his spaceship...doesn't.

*Hides within fireproof bunker*

i've got to agree with this guy. If someone just dropped a Sci-fi bomb on a Lord of The Rings forum would it be ignore? Probably. Trolled even. But not here, why? What about a medieval jedi story in a KOTOR (star wars, i used KOTOR as it's a an RPG just like TES)but forum? i doubt it. (unless the LOTR one was written by a Tolkien, and the KOTOR one was written by an old member of the KOTOR team

MK and LN are both talented at remember lore. i honestly can't remember a thing. But i'm interested in TES because of it's Genre and i'd much rather see their skills involved in the Genre that something else, i don't have any interest in Mass Effect for a reason.

But that's just my opinion, i still like the story, but I'll just think of this as Fan Fiction rather than Canon. (even if it's in the wrong forum. :P )

Yeah, was starting to think this was beginning to venture into the fanfic realm myself. Is this cannon?

Why bother differentiating between sci-fi and fantasy? We can talk to genie-bots in the AYEMIYAMEHT and offer love prayers to our greatest prophets with a few strokes of a keyboard even in our own world. So which genre are we?

We were looking for the control core of giant stompy robots that raised hell by simply existing and thus attracting world refutations from the planets themselves even as far back as Daggerfall. And we found the silly thing by shooting ourselves out of a crossbow, among other things. That doesn't even include the huge dimensional fortress and training facility that got invaded by a bunch of space aliens, including the requisite Alien Hotties that we were so not allowed to woo with our dashing good looks, rugged Tamrielic charm, and irrepressible human (or mer, or beast-folk) spirit! You want to complain about genre, complain about the missed opportunities!
