I consider MK and LN's works canon. They're the White Stripes of TES Lore.

More like the Strunk & White Stripes.

If Professor Numinatus's hand is a bunch of keys, then what do they unlock? I bet they unlock parts of himself.

They're scientific apparatii, something useful when you are a mananaut. I can imagine piloting a ship across radio frequencies is hard.

But he accidentally got him when he pulled Cousin out of vaporization. Them being mananaut tools would imply he intentionally had them implanted.

Holy [censored]. Just saw this thread. Unfortunately I don't have the time to read through all of it right now, but I'll say this anyway: The story looks [censored] awesome, can't wait to read it.

10 years of Morrowind. Beautiful.

I disagree. But, then again, I think you and Haute would have made for a more interesting couple.

There was this one time when we were a buddy-cop duo in 1980s Los Angeles. She was a strictly by-the-book blue squirrel fresh from the academy; I was a cynical, alcoholic series of stills from old b&w films just three days from retirement.

EDIT: Also, Leyendecker Leyendecker Leyendecker. Does this mean that the comic will look like TF2, or do you crazy kids just have a thing for old American illustrators?

If the latter, then can we some Rockwellian tableaus (tableaux, pour mes potes) of nostalgic Tam Rugh idyll? Like say, http://img3.etsystatic.com/il_fullxfull.50098175.jpg, or http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lqrqj9gvW11qde9vzo1_500.jpg being escorted into public school by Imperial Marshalls, 'cause that would be awesome.

Ok. Ok. That last page got me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9YMU0WeBwU I think I'm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMzIBNlXLwc for Cousin myself.

Then I shall be at my desk, hunched over rubbings of ancient engravings, trying to puzzle out the teachings of the ancients by the light of a guttering candle. Or perhaps you'll find me deep in the void of Oblivion, scrying the ebb and flow of a Prince's will. I might be examining the foundation of a Tower, or the alloys within a Dwemer ruin.

But I'll leave you to your spaceships. May they bring you pleasure. Just try not to spill too much sci-fi on my fantasy.

Chill, man. We got this.

Incidentally, though, Eyesore, you might want to call up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Keltiad and get her recipe for fantasy-flavored sci-fi. Because if lore forum peeps are turned off by this, then you haven't sold it well enough.

Oh cool, more of it.

@SeriousFace: I, too, noticed that there's a lot more of the space stuff that's been only mentioned peripherally since Battlespire, but I think it's a good thing. Why does fantasy have to be all trees and bows? It's fantasy in space with lasers and psychic balls of souls. I'm only saying this because mistakenly calling anything that happens to be in space science fiction is a crazy pet peeve of mine.

@general: Personally, I hope/want to hope that the disappearing continents being on strike is a mistake, and it's really a slapfight between two foreign aspects of Lorkhan going and messing up spacial placement because they aren't paying attention.

Tsun blew his tusk far into belief. This fell Esbern's batter-splatter carving-my-days walls into Rift Street out above, and all the Solicity rejoiced with him! Ulfryke and his thunderclad witnessed Olaf's Lies of Old burn with challenge, which earned an "Ahp ta Mownt'ins," and so they went like Orkey's folk. Hemp-lit Olaf sagged an eye of dash, as Esbern's draw chanced an orange adieu.

I promise I'll add sound later.

Actually, about the space stuff, I'm not sure which of these questions I should ask so I'll ask both and leave answering to you guys' discretions:

A: Why exactly are you deciding to suddenly start expanding the lore on the Mananauts and Tamrielic space exploration now, to such a degree, when your previous lore expansion was more Nirnbound?

B: Why the hell did you wait so long to start expanding the lore on the Mananauts on Tamrielic space travel when it's been sitting around almost entirely unused since Battlespire? It's good stuff and an almost entirely untapped area of story potential.

I would gleefully watch Jack White and Ole' Eysore fuse into one being.

EDIT: Also want to say I'm loving the blurring of the lines between fantasy and sci-fi. Really makes everything feel...complete. Its like a Redoran Guard wearing the flayed skin of Darth Krayt.

To clarify my position, I recognize the appeal and validity of blending science fiction with fantasy in some circumstances. Some worlds lend themselves to that fusion. The Elder Scrolls, however, is pure fantasy as far as the games and most other sources are concerned. Interesting, new, dynamic fantasy, but without a trace of science fiction. That is why I feel dissidence.

I'll grant Serious this. Redguard flirted with it, airships and what have you, and Battlespire I suppose. But even alien Morrowind is two-feet-on-the-ground. It's high time the mananauts stepped out of the PGEs and into Ludic Tamriel.

Although I like Prof. Numinatus concept very much, I have to agree with SeriousFace: In one hand you have mythics, swords, plate armors, magicks, a total incomprehension of the already advanced Dwemer steam machines; and on the other hand, we've got the Empire in spaceships and the like. Altough I'm pretty sure that this is happening in a really advanced era, it feels to me like a huge split from what I've come to know about TES: It's all illusions! There is no spoon.

P.S: Can't wait for more Prof Numinatus adventures

What a strange coincidence (or is it?) that ET is on AMC right now.

The truth is, I always found it odd that Vivec and Nerevar could do laps around the cosmos, but that everyone else seemed overly terrestrially-bound. As far as gamesas TES goes, the Empire flying about in mothships is a stretch. As far as Elk TES is concerned... its just filling in a gap that was curiously empty in the past.
