Drinking

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 12:40 am

Girly or not I like the taste so I drink it.

Dont really drink often, dont drink anything other thn spirits nymore, to me beer tsted the sme, and was never that great. Bought some cheap mead from Morrisons the other day (only place I saw it), wanted to try it... I think I will try making my own, becuase it tasted pretty weird and seemed weak (I dont care about strength, but expected it to be stronget than it was 13% iirc). Still want to try Absinthe and Benadictine spirits, havent found them yet.

This post makes me sound like I drink alot, I dont I swear.

That's because, assuming you're an American, old school style absinthe is illegal to sell or import into the United States. It's classed as a drug IIRC

Could never stand the taste of most beers.

Brandy and whiskey is what I tend to stick to.

I had Absinthe once, but I think it was only a tiny amount. They were selling it in Paris, I wanted to buy a bottle so much.

I drink about three times a week, maybe 30-40 drinks a week? I'm in university and we live in a drinking town.

Nope. I'm straight edge. No drugs, no alcohol, no smoking, no six.

I go to college and all we do to have fun is drink. Legally, alcoholic levels of drinking, though I don't do it that much outside of college and I have no reliance on it, so I'll be fine.

I'm a beer man myself.

I love a glass of red wine in the evening. :) I also bought some Baileys recently - that stuff tastes of Christmas to me, especially in coffee.
If I'm on a night out I'll usually drink either beer or vodka, although if it's cheap cocktails night then make mine a mojito!

I drink quite a bit- not enough to get trashed, just enough to get slightly buzzed while enjoying some quality drinks. For hard alcohol I prefer single malt scotch, such as Macallan and Aberlour. I'm also a big fan of good beers, particularly Belgian style ales, along with good, heavy stouts.

I try not to drink much anymore. I never know when to stop after I hit that first buzz, and end up humiliating myself for the rest of the night after I've blacked out.

However my favorite drink has to be Captain and Coke. :foodndrink:

Nope can't get past the alcohol taste of the beverage it's just straight up nasty to me. Worst thing i've done so far is burned my tongue tasting straight up vodka which tasted nasty. Only time I even use stuff is when i'm cooking then it's a matter of burning off the right amount of alcohol to get a fruitier flavor.

I do drink. Lesser amounts lately than before, but I do enjoy to pour down some good whiskey (or vodka) and good beers couple of times in a month (only at weekends, though, I hate working in a hangover).

When I'm at parties I usually drink vodka, rum (captain morgan fishy stick lol lol) beer etc.. I've got a few beers in my fridge (Carlsberg ofcourse) that I drink sometimes in the evenings while gaming/watching football on the TV and stuff like that. Other than that I wouldn't say I drink that much.

I will never be able to drink red wine again.. For a couple of years ago I was silly enough to drink a whole flask in 10 minutes or so, making me so sick that I never got the craving for red wine again.

Also I'm a lightweight when it comes to alcohol, im only 130 pounds so I'm not too heavy on the alcohol, and when I do I tend to black out with the worst hangovers the day after.. I remember when we celebrated the end of high school (norwegian tradition) I drank a single glass of Vodka red bull with something like 60-70% alcohol or something and that was enough to get me somewhat drunk.. :whistling:

I also bought some Baileys recently - that stuff tastes of Christmas to me, especially in coffee.

I love drinking that in the winter when we gather our family on christmas parties. And nothing beats a glass of brandy, makes me warm inside on a otherwise cold day. :)

Yea, I drink. But I have an Irish background and my father is an alcoholic so I don't drink often. A nice dark beer after a tough night at work is always welcome, though.

Maybe like a glass of champagne and a glass of magners on New Years eve, don't like the taste of anything else.

I can appreciate a nice ale or lager from time to time, but dranking isn't my favorite past time.

I do love mead though... It's a bit hard to find but it's just so delicious... I can't imagine why the nectar of the gods isn't more popular! :P

I do drink, but not regularly, unless it's just one of those stretches where I'm going to parties every weekend. I can't turn down a game of beer pong.

Anyways, my favorite drinks, hmm. I really like Jager Bombs, Vodka and orange juice, Captain and coke, Jack and coke, Vodka and Rockstar, ect. I usually like mixed drinks, I can't drink straight alcohol. As for beer, not really a preference, but normally drinking Bud light.

Yeah, and normally for the taste. Mostly a real ale man, but also a fan of mead, wines, lager - whatever basically (except spirits, I only ever have them while drunk). Really does depend on the situation though. But I'll lean to an ale if I can find a good enough excuse for it. :P

I've liked most drinks I've had except what I guess would be called "commercial beer(?)". Busch, Budweiser, Heineken, etc just taste so awful to me.

I'm a big fan of rum and whisky - Seagram's and Captain Morgan are my favorites - though Malibu sometimes for something a bit different. I detest all beer - and I've tried a lot - I will happily have a white wine instead.

I used to drink a lot of vodka, but had a bad experience one time and I still can't stand the stuff.

As for stupid things I've done while drunk... many of those stories cannot be told here. :P

What impresses me is the awesome power of stupidity. I remember one night we thought it would be a good idea to take as direct a route from the pub to the chip-shop*, which involved scaling the wire fence of some allotments. We went back the next day and in the daylight wondered how the hell we'd managed to climb a 15' high obstacle. I've really no idea; all I remembered was falling off and landing in a patch of nettles on the other side. I guess they cushioned my fall, but not very comfortably.

* as in the chopped, deep fried potatoes: it was a Chinese eatery that served this fine British example of French-named Belgian (or is it American?) food, their own twist on it being that they were never fully cooked. So we'd order the rather more Mediterranean-themed doner kebabs instead. "No salad?" the chap behind the counter confirmed as he shovelled heaps of the revolting wilting stuff onto my pita stuffed with dead animal. Sigh.
