One of the problems with the DLCs, are the patches you must install as a prerequisite to obtain them, which is why I am, for now, waiting and hoping for the GOTY edition.

Fake Patch was never intended for Broken Steel. At the moment, Justinother is attempting to get out a hot-fix while either he makes a new and more stable version of fake patch, or Bethesda creates a new official patch.

@Nero25
That is what was supposed to happen. Unfortunatly the 1.5 patch adds a function that is used in the quest right after the last mission in the game. The new fake patch was supposed to edit that out so that we would not have to use the buggy 1.5 patch.

@oblivious user
The other patches for OA and Pitt were just to add the achievements to the game that is all they really did. The fake patch dealt with the first DLC no problem, however it seems like it may not work for the last one.

@Everyone
I am going to install the patch (groans) to see if that makes everything better. ><

There is a possibility (remember not absolute) that the fake patch may not cut it. Remember the 1.5 patch adds a function that Broken Steel needs, not has to have, or maybe ect.... Needs. Hopefully we can cross our fingers and FOMM and or FOSE can come up with something that will kick our need for the new patch. I could be wrong and my version could hate me.

I'm hoping the fake patch can be updated to include the parts of 1.5 that DO work, similar to what was done with 1.4. Then we can all thumb our noses at these sorry excuses for official patches..

Going to start a new game and cheat the whole way to see if the same thing happens. I hate blatent cheating but I must see if after removing the patch I can get stuff done.

You MIGHT have gotten a bugged version of Broken Steel. It's still not "released" so there's a chance that there are bugs that we don't know of (mostly due to the lack of widespread feedback)

Question does FOSE support the new 1.5 patch
Yes, version 1 beta 6 of FOSE does.

What mods are you using? That sounds like when I tried to complete it with a custom race a while back. Custom player races don't complete the main quest correctly.

Think that's the issue? Try just with a vanilla (just use showracemenu)

I just reloaded a past save and it was a custom race bug. Only races within Fallout 3 work. The Fake Patch DOES work!!!. I still would strongly suggest that when doing the last mission to save OFTEN or you may have to reload a far off save. You know who sometimes does not follow you to the end thus breaking the last quest before Broken Steel.

I wish to apologize for overlooking the custom race bug that would come up instead of using one of the general races.

12/10 to the fake patch!!!!!

Is this default fake patch (no BS script edit), or is this with the addon to comment out/replace the RemapWaterType command?

Just so I'm not confused no more :P

The fake patch was updated today. Just download everything cept the steam exe (unless you own the steam version). Plug everything in and play. That's it!
