Yes it does work! On the Project Purity Mission (right before you head indoors) Save often as Sara may not follow you and or into the inner chamber breaking the quest.

Thats all

So a list of what you need

-Fallout 3 1.00 (stuff)
-Fake patch 1.40 (stuff)
-Water fix.

Missing anything?

Yu can't patch backwards. Reinstallation takes about 20 minutes, just say 'No' when asked if you also want to delete your saves.

Very funny....But I accept! Just because I had problems with Project Purity (you know who following me) does not mean everyone else will experience the same problem. I just wanted to let everyone know so they don' end up throwing their computer out the window.

What about unofficial patch? still needed?

Heres what I wound up doing to shmoove out my game:

Installed game
ran game 'normal way' to gen the .ini
patched to 1.00.00.15 and however many other zeroes belong there :P (stupid patch names)
installed 'little boy' (for its BSA utility)
renamed all vanilla and DLC .bsa files to shorten them and renamed the archive invalidation .bsa as well
ran little boy's bsa util to update the .ini (lifesaver!)
dropped fakepatch and unofficial patch into the data folder
installed the version of FOSE recommended, including the older .dll file (Question about this after this section!)
ran FOMM and rearranged load order.

Did I forget anything? any other 'patches' that might be useful?

Im still having occasional pauses on certain mass events, like the speech and enemy generation phase at the end of the supderduper mart 'were back, wait a minute, somethings not right here' (I get a pause there of about 4 seconds before it all 'pops' ), and I get random (rare) crashes, but everything seems 100% better in some undefineable way than it was, especially the fact that VATS now works right!

---------------------------
First question: Load Order. I read it, but it was a bit confusing, so I thought I'd plop my load order here for a critique and any suggestions on other good mods to run:

Fallout3.esm
FakePatch_v1.4.0.6.ESM
ThePitt.esm
Anchorage.esm
HouseBot_v9.esm
Mart's Mutant Mod.esm
FOOK.esm
CALIBR.esm
Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esp
Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Operation Anchorage.esp
Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - The Pitt.esp
RRR+ANCH+PITT 1.0.esp
eye_hair_en.esp
Path_of_the_Gunslinger.ESP
Auto Aim Fix v1.0.esp
DK_BulletTime.esp
FOOK.esp
FOOK - Test Container.esp
FOOK - Anchorage.esp
FOOK - The Pitt.esp
FOOK - Additional Power Armor Training.esp
FOOK - Free Play After MQ.esp
Mart's Mutant Mod - FOOK.esp
Night Strike Armor 2 Vanilla PipBoy.esp
Phalanx-MainFollowerModule.esp
DarNifiedUIF3.esp
DUIF3Extras.esp

Total active plugins: 27
Total plugins: 27

Any thoughts?

--------------------------

2nd question: FOSE.

The newest version of Darnified UI (10) wants the latest FOSE, but I had to revert to use all this stuff. Is there any plans to make this all compatible somehow with the newest FOSE.exe and .dll's? The problem is, as an editor, Im concerned whether my team's mod is going to work right with this mix and match setup.

Did you update the http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4635 (updated yesterday.) Download and install everything there (not the steam exe unless you have a steam copy) you MUST install the RemapWaterType esp that is there too or you won't be able to play.

You cannot have a custom race when you activate the purifier or BS won't start. You also have to have Sara in the same room with you or everything goes wonky (in the room not next to you in the purifier).

Here's http://download836.mediafire.com/i6mn55nmzweg/vzmtg2ugmuz/RemapWaterType.7z Plug it in after you enter Jefferson Memorial but before you activate Project Purity. As it turns out, the new function is necessary for it to be done w/o a separate plugin editing the worldspace records, activated in a timely manner.

Also, here's a http://download635.mediafire.com/45e2o54zd1cg/gmzkbfwvjqe/BS+Deleted+REFS.7z which undeletes, adds/removes "initially disabled" parent markers to/from the 34 "deleted' REF's in BrokenSteel.ESM. Just in case they cause anyone grief.

so if i just use these plugins i can play broken steel on 1.4 without any problems?

As much as love the concept of the fake patch, i had lots of crashes when i first got the game and 1.4 is totally stable for me so i'd much rather just stick with 1.4 and the laggy vats+slow motion mod.

I've had terrible luck with the 1.0.0.15 exe as well. It isn't stable compared to 1.4's. I've even had Megaton NPC's disappear like someone said earlier in the thread. I'm tempted to patch to 1.5 but can't wrap my head around what exactly is wrong with the patch in terms of how it affects mods.

Question... have you used the tesla cannon yet? it seems you might need 1.5 for that to work too...

Is there a way around needing v1.5 to dl the DLC's ??

If not, is it possible to just copy the fallout3.esm file, then patch, then dl the DLC's, then replace the new .esm file with the previous one (my current v1.0 .esm) ??
Or is more than the .esm changed when patching...? ..Can I just copy whatever other folders/files that might be altered-- so I can just replace them after I get the DLC's ?

Yes, there is. Look for the GFWL stand-alone client. You don't even need FO3 on the machine you DL with it.

When I downloaded the other day (redownloaded a few hours later for the fixed DLC) I did not have the 1.5 patch. It works fine right now and if there are any issues with the Tesla cannon I will let everyone know. (Been too busy today with answering the same question over 4-6 threads about patching and DLC)

Running newest FakePatch with BS and I can't gain any more exp. After the Purifier events I got out and got the main quest picked up, but it still shows MAX as my experience in the PipBoy. =|

Suggestions?
