Game crashing to desktop Golden cat mission.

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 11:16 am

I've got this issue and my specs are:

Intel Core i3 550 @ 3.2 GHz
4 GB RAM DDR3 Goodram (1 piece)

Windows 7 HP x64 PL
DX 11
No overclocking, tweaking and such
Dishonored Red Hot Chili Peppers

It didn't crash on the first visit to Galvani's, only after meeting with Slackjaw.

So still not patch....

What a waste of money. this sort of [censored] happens in most bethsida games, I would have though it would be patched by now though.

Congratulations on lowering gaming industry standards.

Even though bethesda posted a workaround, it still glitches, the workaround does nothing.

How far into the game is this? Is it an optional mission or required?

not sure how far it is into the game. it's an optional piece but if you complete it then you are suppose to get an easier mission for the golden cat. that said, the error happens for me once i have completed the mission and am walking out the door to the street... blam, crashes to desktop after all that work.

I don't understand why Bethesda/Arkane have these forums set up if they aren't going to help their customer base. it's pretty frustrating.

I think i've had enough with this.. i'm filing a complaint if i dont hear a response for this within the next three business days.

I've paid for a product that does not work as it should. Typically I can understand this as sfotware is a tricky thing and give it time to sort itself out. However, no one from gamesas or Arkane Studios has made any attempt to contact me nor acknoledge the problem and what they are doing about it for some time. While I do have a life outside of this, I paid good money for this game and I don't feel like I or any of you with this same issue are getting any sort of attention on this matter.

I've tried every solution on the boards including reinstalling the game from scratch and still the same issue. Your bedside manner, Bethesda/Arkane has ruined what I had hoped to be an excellent experience in this game. Enough is enough.

I dont think its an ATI issue, Ive got an nVidia card and have the exact same problem. Tried reloading different saves, and the second I leave the door to get back outside from the Docs house it crashes...

I have an nVidia too but I have no problems. My game hasn't crashed once (I've had a couple of strange minimised-to-desktop instances, but no actual crash). Wondering if it might be a soundcard issue? I have a common ol' Soundblaster.

I'm also getting this issue, game crashes when leaving Galvani's house during the Golden Cat mission.

Asus M4A89TD PRO
AMD Phenom II X4 965
8GB DDR3
ATI Radeon HD 5770
Asus Xonar D2
OCZ Vertex 2
Win7 Home Premium

I'm waiting one more week, and if a fix hasn't been released I will be applying for a full refund on Steam, as per my rights as an EU citizen.

Apparently there's still NO word on a patch? So at this point the people having these issues have literally paid money for something to just occupy Hard drive space..

Title update is still in the works. We'll release it as soon as we can.

Good to hear. Just knowing that this issue will be resolved puts my mind at ease. Can't wait to play again.
