Game crashing to desktop Golden cat mission.

common guys, why don't you just stop burdening this topic with these useless complaints. They ARE working on this issue and there will be a fix available as soon as they're able to fix it. All this baby whining isn't going to help them fix it faster, nor does it help us. Just let them work on it.

Why don't you read comments 1st before criticizing them? We're complaining about lack of any information, not about the bug.

I have read all the comments because I too have experienced the bug. Now I don't know about you but hearing from them that they're working on it is information enough for me. Not everything is black and white you know, maybe they won't give any information because they don't have any information

Yes, exactly, that's the problem. If they don't have any information they should write "We don't know anything yet - don't expect patch this week".
One sentence of comment and everybody is happy. Guess Bethesda prefers simply to ignore us...

I have played many scenarios around this issue and it appears to be related to entering Hogar Square

Mine crashes every time I enter and then exit the Doctors House - regardless of whether I have been to the Distillery first or not and regardless of whether I have encountered the 3 assassins yet or not.

I then reloaded and skirted around the square and got the key to the Art Dealers house - I could still enter and exit the Disterillery without problems. However, after entering Hogar Square the game crashes if you try to enter/exit the Distillery as well as if you try to enter/exit the Doctor's House.

You have now been asked many times when the patch/update will be available and singularly failed to answer

You also imply this is not urgent by saying that "some of us are experiencing issues" - This is a fundamental flaw in what could otherwise be the GOTY - and it is not feasible to "play around the side mission" as you miss so much.
I am more than happy to provide more detail and/or play through various scenarios to help as I am desperate to get back to the game !

For info, I did the Granny Rags side mission and did poison the still - for this I got 2 runes - I "stole" the one from her garden and then she rewarded me with one in her front room.

Please can you give us some indication as to when you hope to have a patch ?
Apologies for any confusion in my previous post but I meant Clavering Boulevard rather tha Hogar Square - not that anyone is listenring or responding !!!

What's so difficult to understand?

The game cost me £30 and with that I expect a £30 gaming experience, if instead I get a totally broken experience then I'm not getting my moneys worth. Hope you're with me so far.

So, it is then my job to seek out information regarding this problem, however, there is very little of no information at all on the matter.

Bethesda are aware and are "planning" to resolve this problem in a future update. It's NOT good enough. Simple as that.

I preordered the game and only got to play 4 hours on the first day before experiencing the bug. I haven't been able to play a game I paid for because QA didn't catch something. I like knowing they were looking, but at least give us an estimate or something to go on. Tell us what's going on. Keep those affected by the bug informed. We were all cool at first, but now we're just frustrated with the lack of information.

So I restarted the mission from automatic save that was created on start and it seems to work. I already passed the moment when it crashed before. I don't know what caused the difference. The only think I remember is that this time I sleep darted both guards in front of Galvani before they were able to enter the house. Maybe that's the way to go for you? Wish you luck!

EDIT: One more thing - I entered and left Galvani house through 1st floor balcony door. Hope that helps. I sleep darted one guard outside and knocked the other.

EDIT2: One more thing I did differently: this time I haven't collected ANY Skull Amulets available on the level (except one in Distillery) before going to Galvani.

I did as Mathew said - restarted mission - went stratight to Galvani's using possesion of a rat (did not touch the guard pissing) - sleep darted both guards out front of Galvanis (one on balcony one on front steps) - hid the one downstairs (ie. was not detected anywhere) - entered by the first floor - attempted to leave and ...you've guessed it - CRASH again !

WHEN ARE WE FINNALLY GOING TO GET A PATCH FOR THIS ??? - PLEASE HAVE THE DECENCY TO LET US KNOW WHAT THE PLANS ARE !!!

Yep, we're looking into some of the issues you're reporting, and I might reach out to some of you via PM to get more information.

A few questions for you...
1. What is your chaos level? (High/Low) How do you tell? I'm guessing high because I've killed a lot of people.
2. Did you sleep dart or kill an NPC just prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery? Yes, Galvani. The two guards by the body, first one I sleep darted, second one I killed then I killed the sleeping one.
3. Did an NPC notice and ‘alert’ on you prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery? Yes.
4. When this issue was experienced, what were your powers and their level? Darkvision I, Blink II, Vitality II, Shadow Kill I.
5. What was in your inventory at the time of the issue? Bones: Robust I, Twist of Fortune I, Falling Star, Fleet Fighter, Sustained Rage, Scavenging. Inventory: Incadescent Paste Blueprints, 2 Runes, 6 Rewire Tools, 502 Coins, 10 Sokolov's, 10 Piero's.
6. How many hours had you been playing when this issue occurred? 2.5 that session, 5 all up so far.

Upgrades - Crossbow Acurracy I, Mask Optics II, Bone Charm capacity II, Bullet capacity I, Bolt capacity I.

I tried restarting the mission and putting all the guards to sleep outside the office (including the one on the balcony). I entered through the second floor balcony, put all the guards inside to sleep and exited from where I entered. It crashed again. My chaos level is low, I've been playing for about four hours. I have the teleport thing level two, see through walls 1, possession 1 and increase health 2.

Sorry to hear that. There must have been something else that was different and I didn't noticed. In case any of you wants to try again - here's step by step all the moves I made:

Spoiler
1. Knocked down guard at the harbor - hid him next to the trash
2. Went straight to Distillery
3. Talked to the guy there.
4. Collected ALL the items available at the Distillery area - including Skull Amulet (I stoled the key from one of guards)
5. After exiting Distillery area I took 1st turn right. Slowed time and sleep darted all 3 killers there. Also, I sleep darted man in the last building on the left-ground.
6. Climbed onto the cliff. Sleep darted guy in front of the main Galvain doors and one on the 1st floor balcony
7. I think I knock one or two guards there, which noticed what happened.
8. Entered through ground door.
9. Left immediately.
10. Entered through 1st floor balcony door.
11. Went upstairs.
12. Sleep darted one guard. The other got alarmed - run away.
13. When he calmed down I sneaked and knocked him down.
14. I collected the note and Rune and left through 1st floor balcony.
15. Went back to Distillery.

I HAVEN'T USED POSSESSION DURING SECOND GAMEPLAY - please try not to use it this time - maybe that's the problem?

Please share if you succeeded.

Thnaks for the detail

Unfortunatley, just tried doing exactly as you say and the first time it crashed on ENTERING Galvani's - first time it has done this ! Tried again and it crashed on EXITING Galvani's (as per many times before !) - this implies that its nothing to do with what we actually have or do but something more random - maybe location or action of guards outside ???

Thanks for the info anyway - at least this way we may get there through a process of elimination whilst we're waiting for the UNRESPONSIVE developeers !!!

Ah so it's cool to pay for a game that you can't play???? The fact that all this crazy detail needed in what's going on means they have 0 clue as to what's going on. People just want updates that's all. It's called Customer Service. People paid $60 for a game they only got to play for 4hrs. Me being one of those. The game is unplayable passed this mission so it's basically unplayable.

Lets please keep this topic at the front of the developers minds by ensuring that people continue to post

I'm a director for a multi-billion dollar IT company and 1) I find it hard to understand how they can have missed such a fundamental flaw and 2) of course there are always bugs but it's how you react to your customers and address your errors that's important.

So far, the response has been absolutely pathetic (and, quite frankly, unbeliveable for a professional software development company) !

Please acknowledge the seriousness of this issue and provide us with at least some assurance that a fix is coming soon - otherwise, as others have said, I will forget about the game and I certainly wont be buying any Bethesda games in future.

You are really letting yourselves and your customers down in a big way.

1. What is your chaos level? (High/Low) Low
2. Did you sleep dart or kill an NPC just prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery? No, rendered unconcious before entering, have sleep darted before leaving and left without sleep darting. Also have entered starting the mission and turned around and left with out doing anything and the game still crashes.

I just got Dishonored today. Played for about 3 hours and then ran into this exact same bug. Whenever I try to leave Galvani offices from the second floor balcony door the game crashes. The only mission I had completed in this area was the one for Granny Rags where you kill the guys demanding rent money.

1. What is your chaos level? (High/Low) I avoided most enemies so I guess it was low.
2. Did you sleep dart or kill an NPC just prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery? Nope. Snuck past them all.
3. Did an NPC notice and ‘alert’ on you prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery? Nope.
4. When this issue was experienced, what were your powers and their level? Level 1 of Dark Vision, Blink, Vitality, and Slow Time
5. What was in your inventory at the time of the issue? 100+ gold and a mixture of collectibles
6. How many hours had you been playing when this issue occurred? Around 3 hours

I've been lurking this thread for a few days now, I am usually loath to sign up for an account of my own but like others I am pretty shocked by the minimal engagement from Bethesda, this is a game breaking bug for me, I realise it may take a while to fix but a little information would be nice.

So we are going on 2 weeks now and we haven't gotten anywhere. At this point I'm putting this game in the will never finish pile. I'm not even upset anymore. I'm just angry.

Sadly I think i'm going to be doing the same, I really enjoyed the game until this point.
It makes me angry that I spend my money on a game and can't play it the way I want, it's crazy that it hadn't been picked up during the QA.

Hi I'm new here and am a fan of stealthy games!

Anyway I met up with the exact same problem everyone did pertaining to the SLACKJAW side quest... therefore I moved on to the main story instead.

*Spoiler* (Sorry but I met the crash here again)
After which I came across this scenario of a choice to save a woman from 2 guards by the alley, a key to the art dealer place was given as a reward.

I went ahead into the art dealer's place and there are 2 exits to this place. 1 is a door beside the safe leading to clavering blvd and 2 is the door which i went in from that leads back to bottle street. The one towards Bottle Street works perfectly fine, however the door that lead towards clavering blvd crashes every single time without fail.

The crash appears in 2 ways.

1: after selecting to go to the blvd, the screen will turn black as if it is changing screen but crashes straight from there
2: after selecting to go to the blvd, the screen changes but crashed straight after the screen shows a glimpse of the place.

*I've tried to run around clavering blvd by foot (not by any map crossing) and everything is fine (By stealth or kills or alert and hide).

Hope this helps the devs to solve the problem
