Game crashing to desktop Golden cat mission.

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 3:12 pm

I'm not that guy, but I hope my feedback also helps.

1. What is your chaos level? (High/Low)

I'm not sure how to check this, I'm fairly sure it high though because I didn't know about it until this mission.

2. Did you sleep dart or kill an NPC just prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery?

It is likely I did this too, but I think I blinked past the enemies right outside.

3. Did an NPC notice and ‘alert’ on you prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery?

An enemy was probably on alert because i just blinked past and quickly entered and he probably noticed me. Everyone inside was asleep or dead.

4. When this issue was experienced, what were your powers and their level?

Dark vision 1
Blink 2
Bend time 1
Vitality 1
And 5 runes left over

5. What was in your inventory at the time of the issue?

An incandescent paint blueprint, a few rewire tools, a few runes, a few health and mana potions, and about 800 money.

A whole lot of keys

The pistol, crossbow, sword, and heart.

All the normal ammo I could use at that point

Bullet capacity, crossbow capacity, Mask optics upgrade 2, and crossbow accuracy.

6. How many hours had you been playing when this issue occurred?

According to Steam, 4.

Yep, we're looking into some of the issues you're reporting, and I might reach out to some of you via PM to get more information.

A few questions for you...

1. What is your chaos level? (High/Low)
2. Did you sleep dart or kill an NPC just prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery?
3. Did an NPC notice and ‘alert’ on you prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery?
4. When this issue was experienced, what were your powers and their level?
5. What was in your inventory at the time of the issue?
6. How many hours had you been playing when this issue occurred?

Hey, cheers for the response. Answers as follows:

1. Low

2. No. Choked pretty much everyone in the building (Galvani's), but that was a few minutes before I tried to exit.

3. No - no-one was left conscious

4.
Powers - Dark Vision I, Blink II, Possession i, Agility I
Bone Charms - Whirlwind I, Unnerving Target I, Tough Skin

5.
Resources - Sokolov's Formula blueprint, 3 runes, 830 coin, 4 rewire tools, 7 Sokolov's Health Elixirs, 3 Peiro's Spiritual Remedies.
Keys - 2 Galvani Lab keys, 2 Galvani Building keys, Old Port District sewer key, 2 Back Yard gate keys, 2 Interrogation Room keys, Granny's front door key, Dunwall sewer gate key, Yard Walkway key, Corvo's cell key
Gadgets - The Heart, City Watch Pistol, Corvo's Crossbow, Corvo's Folding Blade
Ammo - 10 regular bullets, 10 crossbow bolts, 9 sleep darts, 3 incendiary bolts, 5 springrazors, 5 grenades
Upgrades - Mask Optics Upgrade I

6. Three or four hours, I think... I've since restarted the mission, ignored the side quest to Galvani's and played through, so can't be more precise. Sorry bout that.

Incidentally, just some more info that may or may not help:

- Had no issues with the Distillery, only Galvani's.
- I've just finished the game (after skipping the Galvani's side quest) and no other issues or bugs cropped up - everything else ran very smoothly
- I have 2 gaming-capable PCs, and trying the save game on my second machine got the same crash. Both PCs run Win x64 with ATI cards.

Other than the one problem, fantastic game - looking forward to a second playthrough once the bug's fixed! Let us know if you need any more info.

I did notice about the NPC that was standing on the Balcony - I entered the office he followed me inside - I exited the office - He did not follow me outside - I Re entered the building- He was searching for me then Exited to the balcony. i went outside again and he is just gone... So it seems like the NPC is stuck loading, searching for the main character. Later on I do not encounter the crash until i try to go into the DIstillery after finding the informant

- Update - I did not allow the guard on the balcony to be alerted and immediately put him to sleep so he did not follow me into the building - That was the only thing i did differently - Slept the same guards and bypassed all the rest just like i did prior to restarting the mission. As long as that guard does not notice you and try to / succeed following you inside there is no bug - will update again when i finish mission.

Hi,

I'm having the same issue when trying to enter the distillery.

It's definitely an ATI issue and I'm pretty sure the 360 carries ATI hardware.

I have tried all the fixes, no luck though. I hope they get a fix out real soon, I'm really enjoying this game. :)

1. What is your chaos level? (High/Low)
Low

2. Did you sleep dart or kill an NPC just prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distiller?
Sleep darts, at the distillery

3. Did an NPC notice and ‘alert’ on you prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery?
Yes, one.

4. When this issue was experienced, what were your powers and their level?
On trying to enter the distillery, I'm using:
Dark Vision I
Blink II
Vitality I
Agility I

5. What was in your inventory at the time of the issue?
Rune
Rewire Tool
Coin
Health Elixir

All equipment up until that point

Ammo for each weapon including grenades

6. How many hours had you been playing when this issue occurred?
About 2/3.

I'm also having the same issue, tried verifying, installing from download, installing from disc & each time it crashes.

1. Chaos level is low
2. I sleep darted 1 guard & stabbed the other by Slackjaw's man's body.
3. The guard I stabbed was alerted.
4. On trying to exit Galvani's I have:
Dark Vision I
Blink II
Posses I
5. I had runes, rewire tools, money & both elixirs in my inventory. I also had all equipment up to that point, with full ammo inc. grenades.
6. 3 to 4 hours playtime up to the time of the crash, but I have since reloaded a earlier save and skipped this mission.

I have a screenshot of the error message, but I don't have permission to post it.

Got exacly the same problem on my Dishonored RHCP (RHCP  ). I just left Galvani home and now game crashes when I try to enter it again or enter Distillery.

1. What is your chaos level? (High/Low)
Low
2. Did you sleep dart or kill an NPC just prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery?
No. I put 2 guards to sleep in Galvani, but not just prior to exiting.
3. Did an NPC notice and ‘alert’ on you prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery?
Don't think so.
4. When this issue was experienced, what were your powers and their level?
Dark Vision I
Blink II
Posses I
Bend time I
6. How many hours had you been playing when this issue occurred?
About 5 hours.

Windows 7 x64, GTX 560 (306.97), nForce 750a chipset.

I'm looking forward for patch or some workaround so I can continue playing!

1. What is your chaos level? (High/Low) - Low
2. Did you sleep dart or kill an NPC just prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery? - Choked out the enemies. Also restarted mission and didnt touch the enemies (just entered Galvani's and tried to leave immediately
3. Did an NPC notice and ‘alert’ on you prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery? - Nope.
4. When this issue was experienced, what were your powers and their level? - Blink 2, Dark Vision 1, Agility 1, Vitality 2,
5. What was in your inventory at the time of the issue? - Full ammo, some runes, and elixirs.
6. How many hours had you been playing when this issue occurred? - I'm about 3-4 hours into the game now. I also tried doing it after restarting my comp - same thing.

To add an additional detail to my answers above, i tried restarting the mission and doing things in a different order. The first time I went to Galvani's first, and got out fine. But when I had to go back at the request of Slackjaw at the Distillery, it locks up every time. it seems to be a bug with exiting Galvani's while doing that particular quest. Just my 2 cents. I also tried ATI 12.7, 12.8 and beta 12.9 drivers.

Chaos level was low at end of last mission and I had only killed weepers in this mission

I sleep darted a guard immediately before entering Dr Galvani's house. Before that I made my way to the auto cannon thing and removed the whale oil.

I don't think there was an alert on entering Galvani's, but I did dart the guard on the balcony.

Golden Cat Level
Dark Vision I
Blink II
Posses I

My inventory was very full, full grenades, full bullets, bull full bolts, almost full sleep bolts, full traps, 1+ rune, 6 bones.

I had been playing about ~4 hours.

I have a high end PC with and NVIDIA 660 Ti, running in 1080p with every graphical bell and whistle turned on.

Please fix soon, If I cant finish this game before Assassins Creed 3 comes out I will never finish it... And consequently never buy DLC.

1. What is your chaos level? (High/Low)
High
2. Did you sleep dart or kill an NPC just prior to exiting Galvani
No, only strangled a few.
3. Did an NPC notice and ‘alert’ on you prior to exiting Galvan
No,dont think so.
4. When this issue was experienced, what were your powers and their level?
When leaving Galvani's house.
5. What was in your inventory at the time of the issue?
Arrows, granades, traps etc.
6. How many hours had you been playing when this issue occurred?
4 hours

Tried to go the start where i go to galvanis building.. and then get immediately out and still it crashes...so im guessing some script is messed up or missing. Usually it gives me the error report dishonored has stopped working yada yada yada.. but a few times it gave me an message saying Fatal error address = 0xb3ee60 filename not found in steam -&--#62; gamefolder etc.-&--#62; win32-&--#62;dishonored.exe
More of those same errors with different numbers and in the end it says filename not found kernel 32.dll and ntdll.dll.

Edit: and it doesent seem to matter if i kill, strangle, leave the enemies be etc. or which door do i exit from. Gives me the crash anyways.

Edit #2: i restarted the whole mission..didnt go for the brewamster jaws guy and went straight to golden cat. So no crashing at all.. pity that i could not do the side mission ;'(

I'm doing a second playthough but this time I completely ignored all of Granny Rags' missions. I go to the doctor's office at Slackjaw's request and I can leave without it locking up.

The difference between my two games are that the second time round I've only killed 1 person (a weeper I pushed away ended up drowning) and I didn't put plague in the still this time.

same,

chaos level is probably high, i like a bit of chaos.
lots of stuff in my inventory, i dont think that is a problem, but it could be,
it does not seem to have anything to do with system specs, but AMD/ati for both. 8gigs of ram and 64 bit
installed to c, obviously, because its steam.
and its a really really inconvenient issue...this is completely game breaking.

1. What is your chaos level? (High/Low)
Low - I'm going for kills

2. Did you sleep dart or kill an NPC just prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery?
No
3. Did an NPC notice and ‘alert’ on you prior to exiting Galvani/entering Distillery?
No
4. When this issue was experienced, what were your powers and their level?
Blink 2
Possession 1
Dark Vision 1
I believe I had the heart equipped, though

5. What was in your inventory at the time of the issue?
A few sleep darts, some bolts, runes, money, elixrs. Not much ammo/grenades/traps

6. How many hours had you been playing when this issue occurred?
Maybe three hours?

Game is not installed in the programs folder (or even on the C drive at all...). Game cache validated just fine. I was playing in windowed mode from the beginning.
Something strange I've noticed, too... a couple times I get the "performing first time setup" popup when I start the game, going through the whole "installing Microsoft DirectX" and so on... even though it's not the first time I've played it, and I haven't done anything to alter the game files.

Note- I did modify the INI file to set the FOV to 110 and hotkey removing the HUD. I don't think that's the issue, though, since I did that days ago and ran into this problem for the first time just now.

By skipping it you have to give up your non-lethal playthrough, one of the games biggest characteristics.
