Game is Horrible

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 6:05 pm

I think you over exaggerated.. I will say that there is a few minor bugs with the game even for the ps3 I'm sure the Xbox has some as well.. But it's really not that bad.. As far as the game being horrible I don't agree at all..

I understand that you don't like the game and you are entitled to your opinion. I have friends who have the PC version and X-Box version. They are very satisfied with the game. I've been playing Skyrim on my PS3 for the last 4 days. I have had a couple issues, but none enough to prevent me from enjoying it. I think this game is amazing and Deserving of a 9 or Higher. The best thing I can say is sell the game at 80 percent of what you just bought it for and hope someone buys it off of you. Next time go with your gut feeling if you think it's going to be bad.

It's obvious to me that the supposed 360 version that's been shown before was a lot of smoke and mirrors, because the gameplay they showed is far prettier than most of the stuff I've experienced thus far. Just being honest.
It's lame they pulled a Crytek. "It's the x360 version but only we were running it on PC with x360 specs.*" lol I'm guessing this will be a new trend instead of bullshots.

To be fair the mouse is really awful in this game, the delay is very frustrating, and it is clearly a console port. ALL of the menus and interface are clearly built for consoles and thats frustrating to PC players as well.

All that said, the gameplay is great, the story is engaging, the graphics are unbelievable. I see where the OP is coming from but the positives outweigh the negatives.

Sorry your dissappointed maybe try it on xbox if u have one? idk I love it on Xbox, best part so far is I found Maiq just now, I think his location might be scripted with the main quest so the first time you find him can be somewhat at the begginning.

This game is horrible. Ignore the reviews, and the fake metacritic ratings.. I knew this was coming Bethesda, i knew you'd consolise the [censored] out of your game to flog it on hardware which should be in LANDFILL.

First is the mouse lag, yeah, its software accelerated, it floats and takes an age to be accurate. Then there is the constant re-use of textures and poor effects (game is 5.2GB, smaller than oblivion, and it shows). Im not lying when i say that my first 3 hours of this game after getting into the world were literally in black and white, and it became oppressive very quickly.

Adding to that oppression is the field of fiew, again, designed for consoles with no thought for PC gamers. It must be about 55 Degrees - rather than the 80 or even 90 it should be, so even if the game were pretty, you can't fit it into your screen. And you have to endure motion sickness like playing the game through a port-hole.

Next up, the menus are fiddly as hell. Nothing is made for the mouse, you have to click through the menus with wasd and even then they often bug out. No explanations are given for controls either. 4 hours in and i am still trying to find out how exactly to use my "control animal" spell which i got 30 mins into the game. Its effing cryptic. Again, if it were designed for the PC and not a consoles then they wouldnt have such a backwards system for equipping and using spells/weapons etc.

Fighting? Its awful. Due to the unresponsive mouse and the god awful hit detection and swing times for weapons you may aswell be flailing around trying to tickle them to death with a 3ft feather. Tell me Bethesda, how long does it take to swing a sword? Does it take upwards of two seconds?? NO, IT DOESNT. IT TAKES A FRACTION OF A SECOND. WHY IS THE COMBAT IN SLOWMO??

Just avoid this. Even if you really want to play it, dont buy it, rent it, and youll be glad you didn't buy it. Bethesda have to be shown that us pc gamers WHO MADE THEM will not allow them to lower the standards to cash in on these consoles that shouldve died years ago. Personally i am SICK of it and i am insulted and dismayed when i see them flogging such crap for the PC. The game is a joke bethesda, i knew it would be, months ago, watching a preview and listening to your little minion talk about how beautiful the world is, when i could SEEEEEEEEEEEEE that its ugly as sin. I HATE it when developers/previewers do that, because its BRAINWASHING. It is a CRIME. You think that people wont notice that it looks like dirt, aslong as you pay some chimp to tell the camera 50 times that its "beautiful".

Seriously take a fricking step back Bethesda.

Your job is to make games, and make them as good as you can. ELSE ITS NOT WORTH IT.
No Artist devours their own art to flog it to more people - you devour your own games to flog them to more people, and that is soul-less and sad. It must be heartbreaking to work for such a sell-out company.

This game is amazing. Ignore connermcdougle, and his fake whinning.. I knew this was coming Bethesda, i knew you'd awesomize the [censored] out of your game to run it on hardware which continually impresses.

There, fixed it for you.

I have to agree that this is a let down from Oblivion and the Hype. I'm runing twin GTX 470s on 3 monitors and I think they fell asleep from under use. The three monitors, well that is useless. I was expecting a great surround experience, nope. I'm forced to only use my main. RIFT does the surround thing wonderfully, and it has color. I appreciate the comment about the first 4 hours being in B&W. To say the pallate of color is limited is a gross overstatement.

Once post asked why they did the port to PC as an afterthought. I am puzzled there as well. Perhaps I need to pick up a 360 version of Oblivion to see how a console would make it that much better. The GUI and logic is bad at best. There is so many examples of lazy and uninspired that this game could be a course unto itself on how to do things wrong. I feel compelled to play in order to justify my $ spent. Though for entertainment I am really ready to dump it. I don't think I will feel at a loss if I don't complete this one. Perhaps there will be some vindication for PC in the comming weeks, but for now I'm not blown away as I had hoped to be.

Sad but true - we have console port. But at all - this is one of the best RPG of 2011 year.

jeez there is no such thing as "pc elitist".
there are PC gamers old enough to know better, and PC gamers too young to know better. thats it.

Older = smarter?

Yup, logical...

I never understood the whole consoles ruining PC games thing (Morrowind work just fine on consoles). Maybe with Skyrim's UI, but that is more beth's fault for not making a different UI than the console's fault. Just wait for mods to fix it. I for one really like it.

Older = Wiser, in general. Look at the ages of the majority of the Occupy Wall Street people.

Well I play on xbox, installed it to the harddrive, had absolutely no problems whatsoever, no texture issues, nothing. The game is brilliant IMO, a few things they could have done better, when buying items for example they should do it like fallout, plus a few other small things. But not really that bothered to be honest, maybe you need to sort out your priorities ha.

This game is far from horrible yes there are a few bugs but to say its horrid is exagerating a bit. I bought stronghold 3 last month on its release day and it was the only 50% finished and the 50% that is finished is so full of bugs its not even funny. Even after 3 patches it stil needs major major work.
I think you need to file this in the "be thankful"category.

You need a better PC, game runs great graphics are awesome the sound effects are a bit svcky in places but mobs and people and dragons look great. I think they missed an opportunity to slip some sixy women in and Its true its that its not trouble Free and needs some work on the Menu system. You are in cloud cuckoo land if you think PC gamers needs will win over consoles, sadly the money dictates who's needs come first.

Well the man speaks with passion, I'll give him that. However, I have seen enough vids, posts and critiques to convince me to pass on this one for a time until it is fixed up and modded properly. Like the poster, I have been svcked in waaaay to many times in the last couple of years by companies trading on their good names and then delivering squat to their PC customers simply because they can get away with it. No DX 11? Seriously??

Game is stunning... 6 hours in, zero complaints so far. :celebration:

Same here, I'm about 12 hours in an loving every second. I'm always excited to see a dragon cause I know I'm gonna learn a new shout after absorbing it's soul. The game was made for the Xbox 360 and your obviously experiencing that right now. I would suggest purchasing the 360 version and playing...I imagine the enjoyment you'll receive by playing on the console will make up for the disappointment you've had to endure on the PC.

Other than Dark Souls though, this is my favorite game of all time. I can't wait to keep playing so if you'll excuse me I have dragons to slaughter!

Most of the PC complaints can be solved by simply using a 360 controller on PC, which is a better option since you'll still have better graphics, shorter load times and mods.

I doubt it, it's well known that Bethesda is a console-focussed company.
