Hardest enemies I've run into so far (level 2) was a room full of necromancers. Even then they weren't all that difficult to dispatch.

Giant frost spider in fort above Riverwood, opened a door and managed to say OH SHI.... before my ork lay dead, and the frost troll on the way to high hrothgar is a mofo. Ran past him after he gutted me the first time.

Apart from Giants (who are rediculously overpowered), I would say Frost Trolls. Two swipes and I had about 10 HP left, took all my potions to win a fight against it. >.<

only lvl 10 here but the toughest thing I've faced is a troll. Literally could not kill it. Dragons are easy but trolls [censored] me, lol

Spoiler
Vokun in High Gate Ruins. The reward was brilliant, though. Storm Call Shout and a very powerful helm/mask.

That Ice Troll was definitely a rude awakening on High Hrothgar. I eventually scaled the slopes above it and then rained about 40 arrows upon its head. Very difficult as it's health regenerates quite quickly, but I also had a fireball scroll which helped a lot. The troll hid under a shelf and as I tried to position myself better, I slipped down the slope and back onto the steps in front of the beast. Its health was waning though and I was able to fire the last two arrows into its eyes as it charged me, ending the fell beast.

What combat style is everyone using that is struggling with frost trolls?
Obviously not sneak-attacking with archery. I've killed multiple trolls so far with ease using that style. I might've found the trolls hard, but they've never reached me yet before they die doing an impression of a pin cushion.

My hardest enemy so far was a blood dragon. It randomly surprised me out on the volcanic marshes and we had an epic duel as I splashed around in the mud trying to avoid its breath weapon. I finally wounded it enough to get it to land and between me and the dragon we slaughtered at least half a dozen goats and deer in the cross-fire between us. I ended up using all my healing items - I had nothing left. Me and the dragon both had a sliver of life left and it was rushing me across the ground as I raised my bow. It was agonizing pulling the bow string back to full power, because I knew I only had one shot before the dragon shouted again and killed me, and I couldn't take the chance the arrow wouldn't kill it. L released just as the dragon started to open it's mouth. Luckily my arrow reached it first and it fell. I spent the next few minutes terrified a squirrel or something was going to leap out and kill me before my health regenerated.

It would have to be the of the dragon priests i encountered at shear point. Just killed the dragon that guarded the word wall and then headed over to find the priest. Shots the most devastating fire ever that killed me in two strikes.. think i died like 8 times before i got him ;)

Came across a 'boss' in a dungeon that was duel wielding enchanted swords. He would take me down about 2 seconds. I switched it to the easiest difficulty and I still died in about 4 seconds.

Hardest hitting guy I came across is a fire mage. Casted one fire spell and 3/4 of my life dissapeared.... and this was at lvl 17.

And... giants.......

I pretty much just started since I got the game way late lastnight(Thanks UPS -_-) but I before doing anything else I set the difficulty on expert(The hardest setting probably would have destroyed me) and set off.

The first hardest enemy was a "Restless Draugr" I saw him laying there, and thought "Is he an enemy or decoration *fireball* Oh boy, I made him made" He was joined by 2 other regular Draugr that just completely owned me. So next time, I kill the 2 regular draugrs first, then went back up to get revenge on the Restless one. He was still pretty hard though.

Then, the boss of that dungeon. Dragonlord or Draugrlord(don't remember) he was tough. He owned me in 2 shots a few times. I was forced to use my shield. So I started off by pulling out two fireball scrolls I had and used them, switched over to Sword and shield, then stunned him with a power attack, and sent a flurry of attacks his way. After another power attack, he finally went down.

F***ing giant. As a new character, full of hope and excitement for delving into the world of Skyrim, I was eager to explore the world. On my way from Riverwood to Windhelm, I came across one of the Giant territories. They seemed friendly enough, so I approached... cautiously, with my sword drawn. As I took a few steps closer, he brandished his bone and stomped right in front of my face (probably would have been on my face if I hadn't taken a momentary step back).

I was like "Whoa, alright, lets see what you're made of." I ran forward and before my weapon could even clear the distance between us, the giant's bone came rushing downward into my skull and (I s*** you not) my character went flying into the sky... Literally! I rose upward and continued rising for the entirety of the character death camera.

I felt "crushed."

I just beated the frost troll and figured out to share my tactic. ;)

Equip flames in both of your hands and make sure you have magica potions with you.
*Start casting at it (with both hands) from the maximum range you think the flames will hit, keep walking backwards all the time when it`s approaching you. When it`s just about to attack you, stop casting and use the relentless force shout (it will stop the attack and stun it for a few seconds), run a few meters away from the troll and maximize your magica with potions.
Repeat from start, if you can use the environment to your advantage it will make it easier.

I needed to cast all of my magica to it for about 4 times.

Possibly a Wispmother. But she might just be incredibly weapon-resistant, I feld. The Hagraven fireballer was a pain until I found a stealthy dark tent in the night and turned on my night vision to snipe her. Mammoth probably had the most health. Yet to meet the Ice Trolls. I'm level 17, and on my way there now.
