I hate Royal Mail

That's why I like to pick up the game at the store. :D I can just go home with it.

Yep thats just what I'm going to do next time. Waiting around like this is just a waste of time.

It's 2:20 now and my post man just delivered some normal letters and left. Still waiting for my CE when Game.co.uk had told me that my copy had been shipped days agos. I pre-ordered this game weeks ago when Bethesda first told us about the CE.

Edit:
Two of my friends have pre-ordered copys of the normal edition from Game.co.uk also and they are also still waiting on there copys. This is ridiculous.

I'm not sure whether it comforts me or not that its not just Amazon UK messing this up.

No, it's Royal Mail, they're hopeless when it comes to getting post out on time.

Its quite amusing given the tests you have to pass to work at the sorting offices haha.

Huh, guess they're making exceptions, otherwise they'd never get their quota of immigrant workers filled.

EH? Think you've been reading too much Daily Mail.

My postie has now been and gone and that sinking feeling has set in - no game.

Well first and second post has been and gone at work and no Skyrim - so I have sent Amazon my second very strongly worded e-mail of the day asking why they desptached it First Class when I paid for Expediated and I could have chosen First Class if I had wanted to (but didn't as I knew it would be too slow) and would have saved myself money in the process.

It just seems to be luck of the draw. Some people have received theirs and others haven't. As long as mine comes tomorrow I will be able to deal and get over it. I feel bad for the people who are having it sent to work though :( Is there no way you guys could go and pick it up over the weekend?

My work is not open over the weekend. It's amazon.co.uk I am really angry with. I could have chosen to get it sent First Class. I didn't because I knew it would not get here. I chose to have it sent Expediated (which to my mind means not First Class which is £3 cheaper) and they go and send it First Class anyway. I am still waiting for a reason why apart from "the system chose it". Well someone programmed the system and it seems logical to me that you don't make one of the dispatch options for Expediated something that the customer could have chosen themselves (and paid less for) and chose not to!

Amazon should have known how to handle this properly to ensure people got their preorders. They've through this before. If they can't trust their carrier, they shouldn't promise release-date delivery.

On the other hand, Amazon does have very good customer service. Those of you who did not receive your copy should contact Amazon and politely express your outrage. They should find some way to compensate you.

I might do that if it doesn't arrive tomorrow. Amazon love giving out free gift codes to disappointed customers.

Ok, so let me get this straight. You got the free delivery and with an expected arrival of the 14th, you got it today.

I payed extra for quicker delivery, with an expected arrival of today. I don't have it.

Well played, Amazon.

I suspect it is my distance to the sorting office? I don't know how it works, except that I live very nearby a Royal Mail sorting office. Even still post only comes after 13:00?

Filed a complaint with Amazon based on the assurance I was given when I ordered that I would receive the game on the day of release. Today.

Response, in a nutshell, was "Tough"

Never again. I wrongly penny pinched trying to save a fiver rather than buying on Steam. Never again!!

Well I got a refund of slightly more than the postage from Amazon (£7.15) but that still doesn't make up for a whole weekend without Skyrim. My work are not open over the weekend so earliest I could get it would be Monday - if it even arrives by then.
