I HATE the thalmor...

I am completely loyal to the Empire, and I have no qualms about killing Thalmor, or taunting them with an Amulet of Talos.

It is your civic duty to kill every mer loyal to the dominion and the Thalmor because if you're not willing to kill 'em you're one of 'em.

I walk the roads of Skyrim freeing my nord brothers I find from the bonds of the justicars oh and then I cave their skulls in  (the justicars not my fellow nords).

I often end up killing both. Not necessarily on purpose, mind you, but I also don't shed a tear for the Stormcloak.

Then you aren't loyal to the Empire. Amulet of Talos is part of the Talos worshiping which is illegal. Also non-cooperative acting with Thalmor and killing Thalmor are both against the principles of the Empire. After the white Gold Concordat the Empire has chosen to completely follow the Thalmor. If you are loyal to the Empire you serve the Thalmor just like the Thalmor justiciars in Skyrim calls themselves "Your Elven masters".

ok , that little synod man ...when he is showing you that map of tamriel he makes a very deliberate brake in a sentence about the reason behind why the empire want it....seems to be like the empire are trying to find immensely powerful objects ...this adds up because the synod are more of a political branch than a guild
I got the impression the synod is collecting its magical chotchkis out of rivalry with the Whisperers and not for some grand plot against the Dominion. Rather like children playing with bombs if you ask me.

What I like to do is kill them and take their armor and clothes and drop them of at the empacy. I does make a pretty big pile after a bit.

Basically, this is true. He didn't know what the hell he was messing with when talking about the *spoiler alert* Eye of Magnus

My problem is, when you come into the game as a character you have no choice but to be from Skyrim, no matter where they say you come from!

It becomes too easy to side with the Stormcloaks when you have the Thalmor antagonizing you at every opportunity in spite of every effort to stay out
of the civil war. Maybe there should be an equivelant antagonist on the side of the Stormcloaks.

Yep. Im no Stormcloak supporter but I won't miss on a chance to kill me some Thalmor. Plus Olfrid and that idiotic son of his are just the type of people to sell a child into slavery. There are many time when I've wanted to kill both of them :gun:

I will support a usurpation of power against my government (as is the intention of Ulfric) under two conditions:

A. The present government is tyrannical (Is opressing its citizens through excessive taxes, by race, by creed, you name it)
B. More than 70% of the citizens desire an overthrow of the present regime

My problem, the only lazy reason why I should join the stormcloaks in this game is that the Thalmor are harassing me!

As a faction the Thalmor are a bit one-note for my tastes. It's too easy to hate them so I look for any trace of redeemable qualities instead. Keep forgetting this isn't the universe of ASoIaF where mostly morally grey characters exist. Instead the Thalmor are a transparent caricature with little actual substance.

Are we playing the same game? Because in my game it's quite clear that the PC is NOT from Skyrim. This is evidenced by a ) the PC getting caught crossing into Skyrim and b ) the dialogue options show the PC has absolutely no clue about Nord tradition, customs, history or even recent events.

In fact, there are some conversations early on that strongly suggest the PC is from Cyrodiil.

The Thalmor, have every rite to be in Skyrim. Although some of their justiciars may seem cruel, worship of Talos must be eradicated. A mere man can not simply be declared a god for his military achievements. If it where so, the heroes of the Aldmeri Dominion would already have a place among the pantheon of Tamriel.

Titus Mede rolled over to the Thalmor cause they were killing his people indiscriminately it was a slaughter, he had no choice AND if you listen to a lot of the commanders and even Legate Rikke of the Legion. NONE of them I say NONE of them are happy with one of their most revered Deity's being taken from them. The Empire hates the Thalmor just as much as the Stormcloaks, just the empire has their hands tied. I can see the Thalmor gaining a good deal of ground in the empire now due to the events of the Dark Brotherhood and assuming the Stormcloaks win instead of the Legion in the official cannon.

Well hell, the look of everything has improved compared to Skyrim's predecessors.
I suppose I'm the only one here that doesn't like the character head models and the ratty looking vanilla hair texture. The rest of Skyrim, however, I generally agree looks pretty good. (Possibly with a few exceptions, but I can't be bothered to try and think of them now.)

Lol. But its not likely to happen. The next ES game will probably take place in Elsweyr.
I sincerely hope not. As much as I love the Khajiit I fear any game set in Elsweyr will end up being a horrible disappointment given how much of the lore would probably get butchered in the process. I can just hear it now... "LOL, multiple breeds of Khajiit? Possibly more than 20? You thought we were going to give you guys THAT? HAHAHAHA. No. You get one, a human with a tail and cat mask stuck on. Now shut up and be happy. And don't even mention the word 'digitigrade' or we will come to your house and beat you down."

Embrace the Thalmor and accept the inevitable. You will be assimilated or liquidated! The future belongs to the Aldmari Dominion and the Empire will only survive so long as they remain a useful pawn.
Thanks to your avatar I read that in Stewie's voice. Which made it hilarious. Aww, how cute, it thinks it can kill me!

A mere man can not simply be declared a god for his military achievements.
If he was simply declared to be a god, and is not actually one, then why do his shrines give out a blessing, hm?

Talos worship FTW.

Fixed

I honestly could care less for your political schemes. Nations rise and fall, but divine will is eternal.

You are extremely oversimplifying the accomplishments of Talos. He wasn't just a conqueror or warlord, this man fortified the wheel of convention and mantled Lorkhan himself.

Need proof? 1: His shrines provide blessings. 2: It was his armor that was required in the ritual for the portal to Mankar Camoran's paradise. Only a relic of a Divine could work. Check the quest in Oblivion. Spin it anyway you want, a God is a God.

Besides, why would any Man (or non elf for that matter) support the Aldmeri Dominion? It's no secret that they intend to destroy not only Man, but the idea of Men. You and your Dominion have forsaken divine will. And that is a big mistake, one that may indeed lead to great peril for Alinor.
