Hearthfire Discussion Thread #6

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 11:38 am

The new Skyrim DLC 'Hearthfire' has been announced. Watch the trailer on http://www.bethblog.com/2012/08/28/hearthfire-coming-to-xbox-live-on-september-4th/. There's some more info http://gamesas.com/en-us/games/hearthfire.

As with Dawnguard, the DLC is a timed exclusive release for the Xbox 360. PC and PS3 releases will follow later.

Well, I hope there will be more than just the "Whiterun" style.

I hope I can build a house in the woods with a secret lair like Batman. Then marry Serana and adopt Babette. I also hope there are a few werebears surprises for us in this DLC.

I really hope I can build a Breton style home.

Say NO to the " ONLY NORDS IN SKYRIM " crap.

Yeah, maybe there will be a werebear in the closet.

But seriously, I hope Bethesda adds werebears in the next DLC, since they're pretty much the last thing left in the gamejam that hasn't been included.

I am wondering if DG will be released with HF DLC. If so, that could mean another month for PS3 users after the Sept. release to Xbox.

Incidently, that would stink.

Back on to HF though.. I hope there is something extra other than housing with the DLC. However, considering the low cost, I rather doubt it.

Well, first impressions from me are very positive.

Something that isn't combat-focused, but providing a much-needed break from all the fighting (yet still providing some self-defense action to protect my new family) - something to help build my character and provide a fuller role-playing experience.

Well not like Nordic for sure.

This is pretty much Bretons from my knowledge.

I kind of like this idea, but I was more looking forward to being able to build a FORTRESS/CASTLE rather than a HOUSE, but this is still cool.

I know werebears and freaking spears. I think they will be in the next DLC if not in Hearthfire secretly. Now all we need is HINT HINT BETHESDA lunar transformations.
Well not like Nordic for sure.

As a PC player i may buy the DLC, i don't like the location of the House mod,it depends on the location(s) and themes.

There was a redguard and a few bretons, but they had the same model, only with a different skin.

It'll be great when I try and put a dragon claw on a shelf and it migrates across the room onto the floor by the time I come back.

I'm really coming to hate Bethesda. Can you please stop working on new DLC and just put Dawnguard out for PS3 already? Stop screwing us over. Launch was bad enough, and now this. Come on.

From the description, it sounds like this place will have everything, including Smithing facilities (not named as such, but the addition of a smelter and armory would imply such facilities exist). I especially like the addition of a carriage driver.

The lack of carriages in Winterhold and Falkreath have always infuriated me, especially when I played a mage who visited the college a great deal. Hopefully, we can build something close to the college, which would make it a huge bonus to a Mage. About time Mages got a little love in this game, IMO.

Everything in one place, plus a carriage. Can't complain.
