Hearthfire Discussion Thread #6

I'm sorry, but I fail to see how this is like the horse armor, which basically did nothing. Your getting multiple NEW features for $5, and good amount of content. It's apples to oranges. Only thing that is comparable is that it's small and cheap. Which doesn't mean it will be bad.

Well it just comes down to opinion, doesn't it?

That's all I've got. I won't get into the back and forth. My original point was unless official word is released... a person can't sit there saying it is. Because until the information is released, we don't know.

It doesn't take the whole team to build a DLC. I would imagine a few designers are working on this, maybe one or two artists, maybe a programmer. But the rest of the team is probably hard at work on the next DLC.

It does really svck for PS3 owners that they still don't have Dawnguard, but designers and artists are useless in that regard, and it doesn't help to have them sitting around doing nothing. Not good business.

Whole heartly agree, even if it won't come on ps3 and i will never have chance to play I will be dissapointed if ther won't be any elf( mainly dark) or beast races children
why? if your so worried, buy a budget gaming pc.

No. Be wasted in this game, tho' - the horses spook and run if a rabbit farts.
most do, but Shadowmere doesn't. And the horse from riften will fight for his master rider

As with Dawnguard, the DLC is a timed exclusive release for the Xbox 360. PC and PS3 releases will follow later.
http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1406389-hearthfire-thread-5-merged-topics

Is there ANY news about how this one will function on the PS3, or will it also be unsatisfactory?

And if you don't know, find someone who does.

Honestly though, I'm glad this is the 2nd DLC that MS bought exclusivity for, because now there won't be any excuses left for Bethesda on the next one other than "sorry, we're not smart enough to code for the PS3 even though many game companies figured out how to put large scope games like skyrim with terrific graphics and no lag and few bugs."

While I love the idea of finally being able to adopt children and raise them, trying to find some sort of balance between raising a family and adventuring sounds like a tough thing to do, one wrong move and your whole family could potentially fall apart at the seams.

Awesome, was kind of hoping it would be a big DLC involving magic but that's not saying I'm unhappy. I've always loved the idea of building my own stuff on Bethesda's engines, it's why the only mod I've ever really played is Fallout 3's RTS mod. Can't wait to see what this is capable of.

Yup, more coming. I had optimism at one time. Today was a disappointment though. I probably fell for some of the speculations about how big Hearthfire would be. There's also some disappointment for the PS3 crew. All the jokes about Hearthfire coming out for Xbox before they even get Dawnguard.

But as I always say.. I still love my :tes: .. it's just a little raw right now.

Well, it was always said that between big dlcs they wanted to do small stuff, which is more normal.

However, how can you all be surprised with a name like Hearthfire? Even the name has a "homey" feel to it. Duh.

Three wishes:
1) Dogs will STAY at your house.
2) Children of all races, not just human. Khajiit and Argonian esp.
3) Enough bookshelves and display cases.

Are we allowed to infect anyone else? I thought we couldn't do that unless I have missed something. If we can infect other people, then I doubt Bethesda would let us infect children with Lycanthropy.

No, but that doesn't mean I won't keep hoping.

I want all of these myself, but I'm not really counting on any of them, except for maybe number 3, since you can customize decorations and whatnot.

Looks like a great gold-sink. Edit- So it looks like we can have multiple homes. That is fantastic. I now have a lot more reason to care about looting bodies and chests. I've stopped looting a long time ago, time to make some gold.

Hm.. Just watched trailer. Sounds like fun! I do hope we get to like, idk, make* a Castle! And maybe hired Guards and what-not!..

And I'm hoping for Argonian Children!... Two Argonian males raising a Nord will be highly strange and questioned...

~Edit~

Oh.. This extremely made me happy cause.. YEAH! house building! One of my favorite things of RuneScape was building my own house... Spent millions on my house in RuneScape! I shall do the same in Skyrim!!! Well.. Maybe not millions..

More on this adoption thing!

Is it possible that we could train the little ni?os y ni?as for various builds and roles and then enroll them in a faction, like say... The Dark Brotherhood?

That'd be cool. Creating a nice little home out in the wilderness that is supposedly a home for those without parents/guardians, but secretly trains them as assassins.

Hmm, it says "impress your friends", does this mean the in game friends, taking pictures of your house and showing it to friends or a possible hint that friends (other skyrim players) can play with you to see the house?
