Perhaps people have given up hope?

Seriously though, these threads use to be some of the most active. Countless threads on the subject would pop up every minute. That's why these official threads had to be created. Now they seem kinda lonely.

Anyway, I actually figured Hearthfire would be released before Dawnguard and sometime either this month or the next. However, I don't know what the issue is so I don't have anything that backs up my assumption.

Not only have people given up hope on this game ever coming out, they've lost their faith in Bethesda. Why should we respect a company that spent months belittling our concerns about the PS3 memory problems, that then decided to delay patch support throughout the whole process, wait until 2 months after the release of Dawnguard to admit that something was wrong and then top it all off by declining to respond to community concerns or keep us updated as to what is going on.

If Bethesda wants us to trust or even respect them as a game developer again then they are going to have to earn it. That starts with them communicating with their fan base. Until then, I see no reason to support them.

i miss everyone I have to agree these threads got really slow after the pc release of hearthfire I don't blame them. if Bethesda can't release a HOUSE dlc then what hope is there for any dlc on the ps3

I agree, they needed to keep us in the loop. And it's a bit obnoxious of them to pop out a second DLC, then have it available to PC, with nary an update for us. But in fairness to them, it sounds like they're trying to resolve the problem.

I think we should be talking to Sony. They are not to blame, but they are the only folks involved who have any clout. It is pretty obvious Beth doesn't give a crap about what they issue the ps3 owners. Sony can put pressure on them though.

Sony are not going to be putting pressure on any game developer to release something on the PS3 that does not work, if anything Sony would have been the ones to knock it back if it did not run to their standards on all versions of the PS3.

They way I've come to see it is...

We say that we haven’t given up but...... We’re still working to see how long it is possible to string ps3 users along.

From what I hear, they are taking responsibility for the issue, and working with Sony to resolve it. At this point, all that we can reasonably ask of them, they are doing.

I will be devastated if I cannot get the DLC I want for my PS3. It may affect whether I continue to play Skyrim, as well as whether I will ever purchase another Bethesda game (at least new) or DLC. But I am satisfied that what can be done is being done.

Then again... I've always wondered about the "the PS3 is a powerful machine etc..." line in their last (antediluvian, ancient, etc...) update. It would have been an odd thing to say to their PS3 customers, as if Beth. were somehow attempting to address some kind of console inferiority anxiety that I had nowhere noticed. It would seem more likely to have been included in an attempt to mollify an irate Sony-corp.

The likeliest explanation is that Beth's previous veiled implication that they would try but probably fail to bring promised added content, on account of the PS3's deficiencies in resembling an XBox, probably did not go un-noticed in Tokyo. I imagine, given the extent of the customer-base for Skyrim, and the negative speculation about their console hardware that this DLC delay has brought about, Sony are almost certainly starting to apply the thumbscrews. In that respect, needling Sony might have a more salutary effect in shifting [censored] at Beth. than simply beseeching Beth. themselves.

Ummmm.... because they're still in the Dawnguard thread?

You don't demand the hiring of a particular waiter in a restaurant while the actual restaurant struggles to even get built in the first place.

Well the PS3 managed to play the main game OK for most, after a bit of patching, it seemed to be able to manage as well and still slightly better than the Xbox 360 version. They said the DLC would work fine for most, but not for some, I wonder if that pissy little super tiny 12 Gb PS3 is some how the cause of the problem. Has anyone tried to play Skyrim on one of them yet?

I wasn't really expecting a delay when it comes to Hearthfire considering, by the looks of it at least, it's simply three new houses with interchangeable extensions.

Wow, Dude, please don't be "devastated"! There are lots of great games out there without all the drama. Disappointing yes, but really you'll get over it.

I know I shouldn't be, but I'm a RPer. And I want to end my character's journey right. Otherwise, it's like a 180-hr. movie with a real crappy ending.

My comment about Sony was to start asking Sony to pressure Beth into fixing their stuff and making it work right. Not to pressure Sony into making Beth issue another piece of poop. That would be assinine.

Ooo, Skyrim dreams. You ever have the one where you're walking through Solitude naked and everyone's looking at you? Me either, but it's funny to think about.

I check for updates a lot, but there's nothing new. There probably won't be until either the problem is solved, or declared unsolvable.

I still feel for you, PS3ers. Well, most of you anyway. I don't have a lot of sympathy for the people who feel it necessary to rant and cry in the comments of the Dishonored posts on the Bethblog. Those idiots are making the rest of you who can still have a reasonable discussion in the proper place look bad.

Yes, they can be annoying, but I understand why they are doing it. Bethesda has a history of leaving their games for the PS3 broken. They wave a new shiny game at everyone, promote it heavily on their blog, and then everyone forgets about the previous, broken title. PS3 players get so enamored over the new game they immediately go sign up for pre-release and wait in line for the midnight release. Still, forgetting that they just spent money on a game that doesn't work. Fallout: New Vegas is flat out unplayable, especially if one downloaded any DLC. Bethesda knew this, but waved Skyrim at everyone, blew up video game blogs and websites with trailers and an ad campaign I have not seen the likes of in years. People completely forgot about Fallout: New Vegas and it's problems and lined up in droves to buy Skyrim, just to have the same experience all over again. I think the posters in the blog comments are keeping the issues with Skyrim on the forefront of everyone's mind. I think this time, the broken game will not be forgotten or ignored. This is truly "put up or shut up" time for Bethesda and their paying PS3 customers. If Beth does not make ammends for Skyrim, they are done on the PS3 console whether they planned it or not. Even if they release the next Fallout on the PS3, I think the number of people buying it will be so small they will abandon the PS3 for future titles.
