Hearthfire PS3 Release Date - Thread #2

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 3:03 pm

Very, very few games are 1080p on consoles. Skyrim is not one of them. It's 720p at most on both the Xbox and PS3 as trying to run at a full HD resolution would murder frame rates.
According to my TV, the 360 version runs at 1080p and the PS3 version runs at 720p. There is definitely a noticable difference between one and the other. However, it does seem to stertch the 360's GPU to it's limits. It doesn't seem to run optimally on the 360 in that aspect.

This would be possible if there weren't base code support for Hearthfire written into Dawnguard. Hearthfire won't play if Dawnguard doesn't come first AFAIK.

How do you know that there's base code from Dawnguard in Hearthfire?

I wonder if you would be that happy if someone gave everyone $1,000 dollars and they gave only you a quarter, and that quarter didn't even work in any vending machines.

When I bought Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for my PS2... I didn't get mad that there wasn't any DLC for that game. Because there wasn't any...

...why, then, should DLC change my opinion of Skyrim as a whole game? I believe there's tons more content in Skyrim than ever was in any PS2 GTA game (never played GTAIV, heard it svcked).

I'm surprised that no one has posted yet, these threads had so much activity. What happened?
Everyone is over it I'd say. It's been over 6 weeks since we have had a official update on their progress. Their loss honestly, bring on AC3 and hitman.

This is not true, my brother has hearthfire, but does not have dawnguard. And hearthfire works perfectly fine.

Hearthfire is the DLC I personally want. If we never get Dawnguard, I'd be fine with that. But Hearthfire appeals to me a lot - I've watched countless YouTube walkthroughs, I stalk the UESP for new information and I'm making in-game preparations for the DLC.

Surely it couldn't be that hard to get Hearthfire working on the PS3, considering its smaller size? I think Bethesda need to focus on getting whatever they can out to us, rather than trying to follow the pattern they established for the other platforms. Releasing Hearthfire would cool down angry PS3 users a bit, at the very least.

Same here. Dawnguard would be nice, since it would add new quests, but HF makes the overall experience more immersive. Of the two, it's the one I want more.

I'll consider Dishonored once my PS3 has Hearthfire downloaded into it. Until then, Bethesda will have to do without my money.

Well thats a bit harsh, I mean I'm agitated by Bethesda that they can't get DG or HF to work well enough to be released, but I will still get their games

And I can buy the games used. Call me vindictive, but if I have to pay as much for vanilla Skyrim as other gamers did for DLC-friendly Skyrim, Bethesda can do without my money. I don't lick the hand that shafts me.

Which is what they're counting on. If you show them that you're not willing to put up with them treating you this way, then they'll be forced to treat you better in order to attract your business.

One way or the other, I wish they'd hurry. My Nord is getting tired of wandering around Skyrim with all the iron ingots she's hoarded.

1. Express our disappointment here.
2. Refuse to buy Dishonored, or any future game. At least, not new.

Not much else we can do, assuming we don't want to get arrested.

Agreed. If Bethesda only cares about money, we need to act with our money.

There is speculation that that's been happening. "Dishonored" sales are below expectations, and it's rumored that DLC anger may be the reason.

Nah, they can program using a different space, but Dawnguard and Hearthfire both take place in the same place as the vanilla.

if they are going to make us wait this long it should be free. you only need to reprogram a little it a little bit. the only difference betwene the Xbox DLC and the "soon" to be released PS3 DLC is the console and about 5-10 lines of encryptions! i am not tring to be mean or anything like that it is just annoying that Xbox already has it. all of my friends play skyrim on Xbox and torcher me because i cant get the Hearthfire add-on and i dont want to buy skyrim again and start over again i have already started over multiple times om the PS3 and i am not going through that again and if they are not going to release the DLC any time soon then release the next Elder Scroll game in the series befor i giveup on the game all together and i almost NEVER go back to a game after i gave up on it. it is unfair that Xbox already has it. and dont even try to say that life is unfair to me i was homeless when i was born and put in to foster care for 13 years before someone brought me home right before thier home was foreclosed and i went in th foster care for a few months before having a mental break-down then i got a new home and my step dad and step sister were MURDERED infront of me. and i am telling the truth. after you go through that then you can say life is unfair. most people are suprised that i have not killed myself yet, like most people would. so try puting yourself in my spot and think of how messed up you would be! sorry i went off topic so much.
