6'1". Not much of an advantage, unless you play lots of basketball.

Ironically, my 5'6" cousin is probably the best basketball player I've known.

I'm quite short and have lots of trouble picking up chicks. They always start fluttering and flapping and I end up panicking and dropping them.
No, lenny, that isn't how you 'pick up chicks', and you DON'T pick up baby chickens, either. How about... how about, you just keep working like a damn mule, and let me talk to people. Just keep your mouth shut.

When I was 13 I was taller than some of you... I'm a pretty tall guys, I guess.

I'm 6' 4" and it s a mixed blessing. Its easy to reach high things, I can see over crowds and long legs and arms made me a better swimmer, but there are many minuses:

1. Stylish clothes are much harder to find.
2. I like smaller cars but can't fit in many I would like to own (not enough leg room).
3. The Cattle-car economy class seats in airplanes are a form of torture for me.
4. I hit my head more times that I care to think on doorways and low hanging light fixtures no one else gives a second thought.
5. Napoleon types with the "little man complex" try to goad me sometimes.

Basically, be happy with your stature. The grass is always greener, etc...

5'8" at 41years, I think I'm done growing. Do I wish I were taller, of course, but I may have no one but myself to blame for that since i started smoking at such a young age. It all started with stealing the butts from my mother's ashtray as a child (approx 8-10). Fortunately I quit at 27, but it was far too late by then for me to reach my full potential.

A friend of mine only reached 4'11". I suspect that was because of her smoking: she didn't actually start until her 20s, but I think it had a retroactive effect. :hehe:

Statistically smaller people live longer, don't know if that helps...

Methusaleh gene. It helps your lifespan, but it also depends on family history.

You poor kids are always hung up on looks instead of your personality or improving your character.
you can thank years of Hollywood and TV for that.
Here's the important lowdown:

Tall people make good basketball players and are useful in checking the dust levels on refrigerator tops.
Short people make good jockeys and can sleep comfortably on small sofas.
Tall people hide things on the top shelf of their bedroom cupboards.
Short people hide things on the floor at the back of their bedroom cupboards.

Those are the only differences I can think of.

Oh and by the way when you are 75 that living another 10 years may seem like a good idea.

As long as we're wishing for unrealistic things, I think it'd be far better for us all to be beautiful with great personalities.

6 2, i'm fairly tall, (upper average maybe?) Any way all that happens when your tall is that people ask you reach stuff, and you hit your head alot, also shoes are much harder to come by. No, i would not trade it for being short

I was always short and skinny as a kid, and hated it most of the time. Then I put on half a foot in high school and wound up pretty much average at 5' 9''. I wouldn't really worry about it much, I think you can keep growing until you're 22 or so in some cases. Plenty of time!

Not all short people are angry.

However, I have an acquaintance who is very short (about a foot shorter than me) and he reminds me of an angry dog snapping at it's leash. He's constantly on edge and gets angry about the slightest little thing. Perhaps joining the army wasn't the best occupation for him to choose. It seems to have made him angrier than ever. I told him he had a small man complex once and I thought he was going to knock me out!

I'm 5'9...with heels I'm over 6'. I don't know what its like being short... I've always been tall. I was taller than most of the boys in elementary school and I reckon I'm taller than a few of them now. :P
