Height

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 5:26 am

I am 5'3". Recently, I've been feeling really down about my height. Tall guys don't care about their girlfriends' height, and they are manly. Me? I'm gonna grow to be 5'7", if that... I hate it. Actors are usually always tall. It's just better. I know the Methusaleh gene in short people lets them live longer, but I'd rather be 6'2" and live for 75 years then 5'7" and live to 85. I've heard that tall people have a hard time getting clothes and such, but still...
Can someone tall tell me what it's like? Am I missing out..? :(
Thanks.

Well, others' bald spots are easier to spot. That's about the only advantage I can think of right now.

I'm kind of on the short side, but I'm taller then all of my friends.

Just hang out with shorter people!

Wait, how old are you?

Also I'm only 5'8", damn hispanic genes. I mean, it's alright being this height, wish I could be like 5'11" instead (wouldn't want to be too tall) but I don't worry about it too much, can't do anything about it and would just add unwanted stress on me.

So just forget about it man, there's not much you can do unless you resort to expensive surgery (which wouldn't be worth it at all IMO) and just do the best with what you're given in life.

Being short is awesome. You live an amusing life constantly looking up people's noses.

I was 5'4" in 10-11th grade. Doctor said I passed my growth spurt and probably wouldn't grow anymore. Now I'm 5'8" and still growing, WTF IS HAPPENING

I'm fairly short as well, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I don't see actors or celebrities as something to be idolized though.

My 17 year old cousin is about a foot taller than me and I'm 23, to be honest I prefer my height to his.

I had this awesome kidney disorder when I was born and had to have a pretty big surgery. The doctors said it would stunt my growth which kinda svcks because I'm 22 now and only 6' tall. I could have been a basketball player!

On the plus side, the funniest commedians are short guys.

I'm 17 and about 6'3" tall. The best thing I can think of about being tall is, I can see over most people at things like sporting events.

The worst, I hit my head on stuff alot.(like low doorways) You'd think I'd be used to ducking by now, but I'm not.
Also, I don't fit well in some cars.

But I do have to say, that I like being tall, although it would be nice if I were a little shorter.

I'm 5'11 and I almost wish I was shorter. Granted, I also wish I was skinnier and generally more feminine as well, but the world's not composed of fantasies, eh? :P

Really, though. The short people who hate being short? You're not missing out on anything. It's such a trivial physical characteristic. If you're THAT worried, start wearing platform shoes; bring disco back!

Nonsense you only live until massive amazon women kill you by snu snu

And since you're already tiny you're likely to succumb to crush pelvis sooner than your larger male counterparts

You're missing out. I crush tiny people with my size 25 shoe, being a 6' 10" basketball star and all.

I've been with a girl who is 5'11", but don't most girls not like shorter guys?
It bummed me out because she kept saying "if only you were taller..."

I guess it's not all bad though. Having short genes hasn't stopped my family from becoming rich.

I'm currently 6 foot tall, I love being taller than all but a few kids in my school, (and most of the teachers). But I'm not intimidating because I only weigh 125 pounds :stare:

My girlfriend is a good 7 inches shorter than me, but I've always liked short girls.

I'm not exactly tall at 5'11 but 5'7 isn't that short either.

Firstly, just like there will always be a rather populous amount of men attracted to women with bigger boobs, there will be plenty of women who are attracted to a taller man. Aesthetics generally play some role, for some a bit more than others. Those who put too little emphasis I don't think will be attracted to their partner enough, and those who put too much emphasis wind up with a [censored] bag with a shoddy personality.

Secondly, one of my best friends is a gal who is 6'1, and while she has done a pretty fantastic job at not excessively worrying about her partners' height, she's run into countless issues with dating short guys, none more prominent than insecurity. Wonder how you think this makes tall women like her feel? She's married to a 6'6 guy but certainly not without trying shorter guys. Unfortunately shorter guys tend to make their problems far "bigger" than necessary.

Thirdly, you can't really do much about your height, and there's an enormous population of short and medium height women. As yet another general rule, you're going to attract more women with your attitude than with your height.

Whenever I see a guy with a girl that is taller than him, I always wonder about that man. Yeah, it flys in the face of what we are taught to think, but what it's really doing is conveying a sense of power. Short guys with a tall girl means to mos people that the guy is powerful in some way. Just food for thought.
