Height

Whenever I see a guy with a girl that is taller than him, I always wonder about that man. Yeah, it flys in the face of what we are taught to think, but what it's really doing is conveying a sense of power. Short guys with a tall girl means to mos people that the guy is powerful in some way. Just food for thought.
That's great for those few lucky short guys, but still I almost never see a guy with a girl taller than himself so I guess it doesn't really work for the majority.

I'm about 190cm myself, maybe a little shorter, (6ft something?) which is taller than many guys here but definitely not exceptional. I'm still a lot taller than almost all the ladies, so that's not a problem I run into much. It's not that I have a problem with dating taller women, I just never meet any :P.

That's like 6'2", you lucky bastard. Although I usually get taller women, I wouldn't say I'm powerful in that regard. Most girls I've encountered don't care too much about my height.
If there's one reason I'm glad I'm short though, it's because it's so much easier using phones. My 6'6" friend can barely use a smartphone because his fingers are too big!

Just curious... what's your shoe size (either US, UK, Japanese, etc. sizes, don't care which)? I'm roughly about the same height as you and my feet are, as far as I know, surprisingly large for my height... 11's men, US.

6' dead on. A pretty averaging height around here. All I can say is it helps me blend in well. Seriously, spot the 6' guy, oh [censored] there's like a zillion of them. Mediocrity to it's finest stealth applications.

It's not how tall you are, it's how you carry yourself. There was a guy at my high school who was 5 '3 but acted like he was 6 '3. Perfectly confident, smart, and athletic. He went out with the prom queen, and was the captain of the soccer team. Had a bunch of friends who respected him, and was great with women too.

Tom Cruise was the highest paid actor for several years, and he's only 5 '6. He's been in relationships with Nicole Kidman (5 '11) and Katie Holmes (5 '9).

It's all in your head, bro.

P.S: I'm 5 '8 and I'm a bau5.

I'm currently 6 foot tall ...
My girlfriend is a good 7 inches shorter than me, but I've always liked short girls.

5'5" isn't short, it's about average. Likewise about 5'9" is about the average height for a man in Europe and the US, from what I recall; I suspect it won't be the average here as these threads are magnets for exaggeration thanks to unverifiability. The number of people claiming to be over 6'6" in a similar one on the Bioware Forums was really quite something!

For the record, I'm pretty average. :P

I'm 6'5...

I dont think it's more difficult for me to find clothes that fit me than anyone else. You just have to know your size and know what looks good on you. The only thing is that because of my length I need clothes that are nicely cut which usually means expensive clothes. But I think this just counts for everybody, I mean fat people shouldn't wear tight clothes...I have a "normal" body type [meaning I'm not muscular but also not skinny but I'm also not fat...lol in between or something like that] so I shouldn't wear clothes that are too big. However most L size t-shirts or sweaters fit me perfectly.

Also I don't think my height makes me more manly. It's funny you say actors are really tall because I always get the impression that everyone in hollywood is quite short...especially the men.

But you're not missing out on anything if you ask me, the only benefit is that I can easily scare people off when I'm angry and I always have the best view at a concert no matter where I stand. Other than that I guess there's nothing really special about it.

Mine? I have a 45, which would be an 11,5 men by US standards, according to http://www.i18nguy.com/l10n/shoes.html That's a normal shoe size for someone my height.

@OP- You're 15, you still have time to grow

Anywho, I'm 5'8. That's supposedly average, but most of the people I meet here are super tall. I was one of the shortest guys on the BGSF Minecraft server T__T

I think that is a bit larger than normal for your height; I'm 5'11 and I take the same size. Maybe it means you'll grow into them :P.

OP, you'll be amazed at how fast and tall you can grow. I was only about 5'6" when I was 14-15 and I grew within a year or so to be 5'9" or so. Now I'm around 6", maybe 6'1" which I think is a great height, taller than average but not by a lot, so I'm still comfortable.

It's hard to predict how tall you're going to grow to be, so don't write off being 6' + yet, you never know. ^_^

Nonsense you only live until massive amazon women kill you by snu snu

And since you're already tiny you're likely to succumb to crush pelvis sooner than your larger male counterparts
At 6'2 I'm tall enough for any woman! Theoretically...

If terrorists attack, you can fit into smaller spaces and hide, while the tall people are discovered and shot.
But the taller peope will just go all die hard on the terrorists' asses.

Nope, but I didnt see much a reason for each of us to lie about our heights since it wasnt really a contest xD. Anywho, I'm pretty honest about my measurements, when someone asks what measurements I am for anything, I'll pretty much just give a straight answer.

My best friend is 6' 5", and he's pretty skinny. People stare at him wherever we go and usually when meeting new people the first thing they will comment on is his height, and he sometimes gets depressed about it. He said once he likes hanging around with me so much because I've never made a big deal about his height.
He also can't get in my car very easily unless the seat is pushed back. So being tall isn't all good.

[censored]. It's a good thing 5'2 isn't short, then.

I don't think you need to worry about it just yet, OP. 5'7 is a perfectly okay height, and even if you are a bit shorter than other people in your immediate surroundings, who gives a [censored] anyway? Just think positive, at least you won't hit your head on doorways and stuff.

EDIT // Then again, I have a second cousin who's almost 6'9 (I was I was kidding). He doesn't complain about much, just cars and doorways being too small. I think it's just about the attitude you have towards your height, really. An extreme in either direction can cause some unpracticalities in your daily life, but that doesn't necessarily mean you should be unhappy about it.

Agreed. I have a friend at University who is 6'7". One more inch would grant him disability benefits, which although sounds kind of neat really must be quite annoying. We're used to his height, but he probably gets a lot of strange looks and especially as he's rather skinny too. He claims that it's hard to gain weight being so tall.

I'm glad I'm not that tall.
