Height

5'9" here, and even though I'm the shortest guy of my friends and family it isn't a big deal since I can still post up and my jump shot is awesome.

Agreed. I have a friend at University who is 6'7". One more inch would grant him disability benefits, which although sounds kind of neat really must be quite annoying. We're used to his height, but he probably gets a lot of strange looks and especially as he's rather skinny too. He claims that it's hard to gain weight being so tall.

I'm glad I'm not that tall.
I dunno, I had a friend back in high school EASY taller than the door frame, and he was probably close to the width of them as well >_>

@Pelion- You're still an inch taller than me ;-;

Nope, but I didnt see much a reason for each of us to lie about our heights since it wasnt really a contest xD. Anywho, I'm pretty honest about my measurements, when someone asks what measurements I am for anything, I'll pretty much just give a straight answer.

Well, I don't know the people in question, but these threads do seem to be a target for some people to exaggerate with pretty wild abandon. Either that, or gamers are a very unusually tall bunch! Or that some people possibly use a different measuring scale to the rest of us, since it's pretty incredible that the person who at an alleged 6'4" claimed he was "short" in another example of this discussion...

I must admit I'm also perplexed as to why people would lie about their height, but it happens.

Lol, I dunno, maybe it's just my self conciousness. I got rejected by a girl I asked out because I'm 'to short', despite being like 2-3 inches taller than her. I think it's just because she was 15 years older than me

Edit: or is it 'too'? I always mix the two up >_>

I can't help feeling you probably had a lucky escape! (It's "too", for the record.)

You two are too tall to go.

In order:
Spelling of the numerical value 2
Comparative term
Preposition (locational expression)

My problem is I always see 'too' as 'as well' or 'also', and 'to' as a property to or of something. IE 'That mail goes to Pelion'

I'm 6'1" and a big fan of my height. I'm taller than most people, which absolutely is an advantage, but if you see me you don't just think "tall" when you look at me. My height isn't a factor that sets me apart from other people. I wouldn't want to be any other height, but it really isn't all that important in life. I'd gladly trade my height for, say, artistic ability of any kind, or good co-ordination, or heightened awareness (I'm not very observant). If you think your height is your worst quality, and it isn't a medical issue (you're not a dwarf or a giant) you should feel proud.

I'm 6'7. I'm the kind of guy nobody likes to be behind at sporting events, but I always got there very early to get very good seats, thus dooming the people rows behind me (especially because I was in the student sections at MSU football and basketball (more commonly known as the Izzone for b-ball) and we all stand in those sections).

I'm also at that height where if I see anyone taller than me, it's very weird.

5"11 and growing... you don't want to get too tall. I find it impossible to talk to small people in noisy environments.

I'm 5"11 and still growing.

I am expecting something like 6 feet tall or six one maybe if I am lucky, I still have a few years to grow. Most of my friends are smaller than me, one of them is really bothered by it. He is probably 5"6 and comes up to my nose or something.

Thing is, most girls are about your height dude. Do you want to hug them under your chin and bend down to kiss them or, since you brought Hollywood up, kiss them with only a small height advantage, like they do in the movies?

My best friend is 6' 5", and he's pretty skinny. People stare at him wherever we go and usually when meeting new people the first thing they will comment on is his height, and he sometimes gets depressed about it. He said once he likes hanging around with me so much because I've never made a big deal about his height.
He also can't get in my car very easily unless the seat is pushed back. So being tall isn't all good.

I'm the same height people don't really stare at me but maybe that's because everybody in holland is a bit taller than the average person. I bet if I go to japan people will stare at me all the time. Sometimes people comment on my height but most of the time like old relatives. They are always like; OMG DID YOU GROW EVEN MORE?! and then I'm like...no i've been this tall for like forever you probably just forgot how tall I look in person. It's funny cos I never really feel super tall compared to other people. However if I meet people who are just a few inches taller than I am I'm also usually like OMG. But whatever. Your friend shouldn't get depressed about it. Sometimes I like being tall...I guess it adds something to my six appeal I feel like an elegant gazelle from time to time....he should do 2.

Cars are a bit annoying sometimes. Or subways can be a bit claustrophobic sometimes. Oh and hotel beds are usually made for midgets, even average people barely fit in those so things like that are a bit annoying sometimes. Flying drives me crazy. I hate flying in general because I have an attention span of 10 seconds and get bored really easily. So whenever I have to fly for a few hours I go a bit mental due to the small seats...what else is annoying about being tall?

I guess it doesn't say very much about being tall I guess fat people have the same issue not fitting in their cars and stuff. Anyone with a body type that is not average runs into these things. The world is designed for average people...:(

But seriously tell him he's a sixy gazelle that'll boost his ego....

6'2''

It's ok being tallish but slightly annoying when you happen to like things such as sports cars (I wouldn't mind a few more inches of headroom in my car) and motorcycles (both tend not to be designed for people of my size... I sit around 200 - 210 (210 cause I'm a tad outta shape atm... I need to start up skiing some more again) pounds too so I'm not exactly a stick... I just hope I don't get fat when I'm old or I'll never be able to enjoy a car again >_<)

Also walls and signs just at head level but above the eyes get annoying...

I would not want to be taller. (Nor shorter I suppose honestly)

6'4'' My head touches the ceiling in my RX-8 sometimes even with my seat all the way down. I have to either buy jeans and pants online or go to certain stores and pay extra essentially for convenience. I am the tallest person on my line at work and one of the tallest my in unit. I have to duck more then I would like to in my own home and every now and then I hit my head on a edge coming down my stairs sometimes really hard. However I have long legs and running is easy for me.

6'4"
This says absolutely nothing to me.. (goes for wikipedia for answer)

So, according to wikipedia you'd be.. 6x12+4 inches long. (x2,54 and we get cm).. 193 cm.

Meaning I'd be like 6' 0'' or something with this weird way to measure things.. :D
