As a first step, would it be so difficult to just tell her that you don't feel comfortable with fire alarms and bondage? Maybe, just maybe, she likes you enough to adjust her behavior. If not, the reason why you want to break the relationship off should be pretty clear to her.

Just let her know that you don't feel compatible with her. But honestly, she doesn't sound psycho, just a little crazy and unpredictable, and that sounds exciting to me. I'd let her tie me up, knowing full well she'd probably leave me there for a while.

But yeah, it sounds to me like you just don't understand her and she doesn't understand you. It doesn't sound like she's a psycho.

I don't think we're into restraining order territory here.

Don't try any "get her to dump you" tactics - they will inevitably backfire and leave her feeling hurt and bewildered but still with no intention of dumping you. Watch How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days for that one. Just tell her honestly that you feel suffocated and freaked out by her behaviour and that you don't want to be with her any more. Don't let her down gently, don't fudge the issue or try to be oblique about it. Yes, it will be hard, but much easier in the long run - the more honest you are about how she makes you feel, the more likely she'll take a step back and think about her behaviour.

So right now before there is time to become overly emotionally attached just tell her straight up and honest that you don't think it will work out, that you don't want to have a relationship with her and that you most especially do not want to be tied up. Drop her like a hot potato and don't even get into the "if's, and's and but's" of the matter. It's enough just saying "I am not ready for a relationship with you now and doubt I ever will be so let's just cut any ties now.

Boom...no games, no promises and no problems.
