So how many people had their PC versions run without a hitch

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 12:56 am

Haven't had any problems on the PC.

The only slight problem is when I alt-tab, and click on the Skyrim game, it won't load back. All I have to do is alt-tab again, and click on it one more time for the game to be full screen.

no problems at all. even on my other pc that auto detects 'low settings' it runs sweet and its very smooth.

ive forced myself to learn the control pad though and that is harder than keyboard and mouse, espcially using bow.. but ill get ther :)

Worst i have had is a few texture pop ins at distance, but thats not new to TES, and got stuck on some stairs once. Other than that its fine, but wish the textures and shadows we higher detail.

No issues at all. I'm running on Ultra settings and it looks gorgeous.

No problems here. Installed it and played yesterday and noticed no crashes, bugs or anything.

If I was being really picky (really, really picky) then I would complain that the game auto-detected 'high' settings for my computer when it runs fine on 'ultra', but I'm not so I won't.

The only crashes I had were due to my video driver crashing. That was caused by it being a teensy bit too overclocked. As soon as I dialed it down a bit, the game has ran virtually problem free. My only functional issue has been with my mouse click not always clicking the thing I thought it should which can be a little irritating but nothing to really take away from the immense enjoyment I'm getting out of this game :D

Edit.. I do have that weird glitch where you get arrows stuck in you. Hopefully it clears up before I look like a pin cushion.

I've played about 15 hours, the game runs very good and I occasionally see frame drops and lag just as oblivion had(good old gamebryo) and a memory leak after a lot of playours.
Nothing Big though, the thing that annoys me most is the HUD/menu witch is uncomfortable.

Game ran perfectly as I played for 12 hours straight.

Picked up a "Note to [insert name here]" and my game crashed but I picked it up a second time and nothing happened.

Other than that there were no issues.

After reading all the complaints on the tech issues sub-forum, I was bracing for the worst. However, as it turns out, almost everything worked fine. Mouse works on the menus, no crashes so far, no texture issues or sound issues. It's not completely bug free, though, because my left hand (magic casting arm) sometimes stays extended even why I'm not casting anything.

Who else had their game run near flawlessly? Are we that lucky?

I play on a crappy PC.

AMD 9950 quad-core BE edition (2.8 ghz)
4 gig of 5 year old system RAM
Nvidia 260 GTX
P.O.S motherboard and hard drive
Windows XP

Currently, im running the game at high settings with 4x AA and V-sync and i haven't dropped below 50 fps and I haven't crashed one time either. About 18 hours of gameplay so far. It seems like Nvidia is the way to go for this game. I have never owned an ATI card and I probably never will.

Mine is running smoothly on high with some very old hardware, an e6700 pentium and 400mhz ddr2 ram. I was shocked that it ran so smoothly.

I would like to say that everything is MAXED and running smoothly...

-Applied no mouse smoothing tweak, disabled in-game 360 controller option, disabled vsync tweak
-Enabled tree and ground shadows

Essential PC hardware: CPU=Q6600 QuadCore @ 3.0GHz, GPU=GTX560 2GB, and RAM=8GB DDR2800

(On my sig there's a link to steam, of which I threw up some screenshots too!)

All I got are:
-relatively poor textures for the settings I'm on - fixed by a mod or patch
-blue outlines around hands/weapons when in a dungeon - can be irritating, but easy to forget about when you're busy doing your things.
-sometimes when equipping spells through my quick keys, the hand doesn't pop up with the spell in it, but it is selected because you hear the sound - the most irritating thing I've encountered but it hasn't pissed me of yet.
-relative,y slow mouse controls - I can easily fix that in the ini file if I wasn't so lazy and just want to play the damn game for a while first. Maybe I'll do that in a week or two.

Note: this is 5 hours into the game having beaten one dungeon and about to talk to the Jarl of Whiterun.

Running with everything maxed, and have not run across any serious problems yet (a couple of funny "jumping wildlife", IE it bounces 250 feet into the air and lands again, etc.. but nothing major). Char is level 15 (mage).

Dont really like the magic system of this game though..

I had some pretty bad FPS issues at first due to some hardware problems. All fixed now, and the game runs flawlessly.

Game has been running fine at Ultra settings. Had some texture issues and transparent people, but turning off AA solved those issues. Quad 9450, 4GB RAM, ATI 6870 1GB, Windows 7 Pro 64bit.

Absolutely no problem on ultra high settings - I had only one CTD when I tried to save a game with the normal (ESC) Save-function, that I had formerly created via the console (to give it a unique name). I am not sure if that was a one time occurence, or if console made saves couldn′t get overwritten with the"normal" way in general.

5 hours played and not one issue - plays smooth as silk on my Core 2 Duo and GeForce GTX 460 combo on high+ settings. It even carried on playing after I forgot to put my firewall into game mode and it momentarily relegated the program to the task bar, which is something no other Bethesda program has been able to do. I'm loving every second of it and am getting ready to start a weekend marathon :D

Everything has been pretty smooth. At first my PC overheated and shut itself down. I never saw that before. So I pulled it out from under the desk and took my external drive off the top of the pc so it could breath better (there are vent holes on the top) and that problem went away. A couple CTD's but I've been putting in a lot of hours. I play on ultra and the game runs fabulous. Better than new vegas which has random locations which are choppy.

Not a single problem after the initial 'crash at loadup screen'. That was solved, on this forum within 5 mins past midnight as a sound issue, not a peep of an issue since.

Running on Ultra.

Quad core i7
GTX470
26" Monitor.

No problems whatsoever but I've only played 3 hours. Playing it on medium details at native res, and so far it feels a lot smoother than Oblivion.
