So how many people had their PC versions run without a hitch

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 7:21 pm

After reading all the complaints on the tech issues sub-forum, I was bracing for the worst. However, as it turns out, almost everything worked fine. Mouse works on the menus, no crashes so far, no texture issues or sound issues. It's not completely bug free, though, because my left hand (magic casting arm) sometimes stays extended even why I'm not casting anything.

Who else had their game run near flawlessly? Are we that lucky?

I get my copy tomorrow...and to be honest after reading the onslaught of PC issue-related complaints...I'm absolutely terrified. This forum can really get one's morale down...

Lucky here, no issues at all. Happy for Skyrim. And those who aren't playing yet - you're going to play the best game of the year.

Bethesda's games are always buggy. I expect CTDs and other funky issues. And I'm still gonna love this game.

Don't worry, the issues are mostly to do with the UI and textures, the actual game runs fine for most people

I played for about 11 hours. I had 4 or 5 CTDs, and there's a certain location in Riften where characters frequently have no faces. It's still better than FO3 or NV. Upgraded engine is so much better.

Now, just need to get the creation kit released so we can start tweaking things.

Add me to the list...

Bought from Steam, pre-loaded, decrypted and unlocked without a hitch. I'm running the game at Ultra and it runs smoothly. The game looks beautiful and I couldn't be happier!

No problems for me...smooth as butter actually (on ultra too, yeah!). I'm sure there'll be bugs later, but I love the graphics on this setting. Even without em, damn...I love this game's potential. I don't know how they make me feel overwhelmed every game...haha.

Running perfect with all display settings on "High", I will see if Ultra workes as perfect.
Only glitch I saw was the archer without a body and just head arms and legs,.
I hated the UI, until I learned it.
No crashes.

The game suggested Very High settings for me. When the game started, I was going at 9 FPS. Switched to low settings. 12 FPS. - _ -

No problems for me. There was a huge download - 173MB that I had to get before it would let me play, but it only took 10 minutes or so. Other than that everything is moving well.

Add me to the list. I've had one crash to desktop in 16 hours of playing, but that's it. So far I've had no bugs, crashes, or wierdness, and the game is running on High with a silky smooth framerate on a computer that's over two years old.

I've had to CTD's and three instances when pushing the collect all key made the sound for collecting equipment but did nothing. Beyond that perfection.

I know run away.... for the love of god run away :bolt:.

In all honesty though I have only had one crash so far and although the textures on ultra look a little naff I'm sure that will be fixed with the next patch/driver updates. The menu system is imo naff but I suppose you'll get used to it.

I haven't encountered nearly as many problems as some people which makes me think their install went wrong at some point and they should reinstall it as well as checking drivers are up to date.

I'm sure you'll have a blast don't worry

I experience very rare frame drops, but aside from that the game runs fine.

Had the Lefty Numpad problem, had some issues with textures popping in and out and people becoming transparent. Sorted it out, though. For the most part the game is now running fine, but I do get occasional random CTDs.

Q6600 3.2 GHz, 8 GB, HD5850. Running the game @ 1920*1200, High settings with FXAA and 16x AF, shadows killed. Outdoors framerate is generally above 40, indoors is usually 60. Vsync enabled (I can't stand tearing).

game runs fine :)
some minor bugs (and one annoying one that seems to happen to a few on PC were you cant examine the items in the items menu, making some quests impossible to complete without console commands)
