In other words, you have no actual knowledge of how it works and gave an answer anyway.

Please refrain from doing that in the future.

if you gonna be pissy about it.. here is "proof"

"While wearing armor, the strength of any spells you use are reduced."

nobody can check the math until the game is unlocked so they can check the editor.

Um,you do realize logic actually works in skyrim's case right?that heavier armor influences the magic effect or makes it less efficient. Why would they make a heavy armor have same results as a squishy cloth mage after all?

It's definitely true, not like he just made it up. Until the game is released, the specific formula used to determine how much mana regen is depreciated per pound of armor (or pieces of heavy armor) is near impossible to know, but that doesn't mean that the correlation isn't obvious. The same is true for fatigue.

That said, heavy OR cloth, you'll still want to find gear with mana regen on it if you plan to cast often. All cloth appears to come with a mana regen increase while only some light and heavy do.

That info is outdated, we already know that wearing armor does not reduce the strength of the spell, but magicka regen instead. Uesp is not a proof, especially with the giant disclaimer up top. A lot of the info up right now is wrong...give it a few months and it'll converge on a correct solution. ;)

In OB there was a higher penalty for heavy vs. light, but the actual percentages allude me. I'd expect the same in Skyrim, but honestly I don't think it'll be that much...we'll see soon. :)

That "proof" has already been proven wrong.

Are there castles for sale or Frostcrag Spire-ish unique types of homes? Like your own personal fortress sorta deal? And what sort of house upgrades have you seen? Anything interesting?

Here's the skinny.

We know for a fact there's no 'magic effectiveness' concept anymore. We also know for a fact that wearing all cloth armor increase your mana regeneration.

What we DONT know is:

Whether the type (light/hvy) or the weight of any armor you're wearing affects how much of a penalty you get to mana regeneration (its possible a single piece of light armor could be just as bad for all heavy, even if not logical), nor do we know the magnitude of the penalty(ies) levied to mana regeneration. Also, we don't know if perks that negate armor weight could have an effect on this penalty.

Hard information on this is not available yet, and though we can all make assumptions, it's important to label them so to avoid mistaken information with educated guesses.

You don't need all ranks of the first Level perk. Spending one perk in for instance Overdraw (Archery) leads you to Eagle Eye and Critical Shot (two paths) despite Overdraw having 5 ranks.

As such, you can only spend perks higher up when u have the lower perks. So this way you HAVE TO learn Steel Smithing and Dwarven Smithing for Ebony Smithing to become available. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Smithing

Ah i see many thanks! :goodjob:

I guess you're just joking now. But incase you're not.

Armor has no effect on spell effectiveness.

Armor does penalize mana regeneration.

Both of those statements are true.

Can the daedric artifacts be acquired without partaking a daedric quest? Can I just wander into a dungeon and find an artifact without beginning the actual quest?

My question is:

I have the game as well. I am experiencing a minor graphical bug (I think) where when I pick up an item the text that says item added is too far too the left so gets partially cut off.
For instance, when I pick up a purple mountain flower, it says: ple mountain flower added.
It is the same on all the settings my tv has for arranging the screen.

Are you experiencing this as well?
If not, any idea what I can do to fix it?

Thanks :)

Edit: fixed it, I needed to change the settings of my xbox, not my tv :)

I thought you weren't gonna buy it 'till it was on sale? Where's the whining? I don't recognise you anymore. :nope:
