Journey to Coldharbour - New in-game trailer

Post » Sun May 05, 2013 5:59 am

Yes. It's not hard. But the question is will they bother to do so? I've seen many games(usually mmos) that just recolor mobs and then say that it's some completely different creature.

They aren't just going to have on it's name tag just say "Spriggan" on it. Come on. ZOS knows what Coldharbour is suppose to be, twisted and corrupted version of Nirn. So obviously when we see the mob in Coldharbour it's name won't be just "Spriggan." I expect it will have the affix Fel, Twisted, or Corrupted on it. Or hell maybe another name, because Molag wants it that way. And why not it's his realm he can call it whatever the hell he wants to.

To be fair, I kind of agree with their decision not to make the sky in Coldharbour not on fire. Why? Well, because if you think about it, it'd be boring as hell. It'd make Coldharbour way too similar to Mehrunes Dagon's Deadlands, which I think everyone has had enough with from Oblivion. Of course, any time something in the lore changes/is ignored it's important to bring it up and dissect it, but I honestly don't believe they deserve to be criticised so heavily for making minor lore changes for the sake of the game not svcking.

As for Lawrence calling him the Daedric Prince of schemes, yes, I agree, if that reflects into the actual game, Mara (Mephala?) preserve us. But don't discount the possibility of it just being a slip of the tongue on Lawrence's part. Given the amount of lore has has to keep track of, not everything he says will be 100% accurate.

This last little bit you said here is possible the right thing. People make mistakes here or there. I think this is the first time we have ever heard them call Molag Bal the "Prince of Schemes." So I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he just made a mistake there and that's not actually his title.

They aren't going to call him the Prince of [censored]. Yes they should use his other titles of Domination or Enslavement, but like I just posted it could have been a slip of tongue when he said Schemes. People do make mistakes, after all we are all human right?

So we should have a M rated game purely to keep to the lore for such a small name? Lore shouldn't be restricting ZOS in anything other than the game content/plot, it's certainly justified to make a change like that. Still agree that there are more lore friendly + child friendly ways of going about it - Prince of Domination still is lore friendly.

Well not that I care, i mean they could call him the Lord of rainbows and kittens for all it matters to me, but on the page for the video on the main site they use Lord of Schemes as well.

Didn't read that at all, just watched the video. Well them maybe they messed up and used the wrong name then. But, who's to say that they don't use his other titles while in game?

Looks great like the story. It is a little too much detail of the game in my opinion. Also that gate looks like something out a previous TES game if you played it you know what DLC and game it was but it makes sense to use that and it is an nice touch. Don't mention it for some might not have played it but should play it. As for the lore most of it is right but he is not the "God of Scheming".

what the hell? Did he say something like that? Nice way of insulting someone who happens to dislike the trailer. Let him have his opinion.

What would be the point? Some people like the way this game is turning out... others don't. Trying to convince each other would be futile.

This is what I was going to say more or less. Why didnt they just call him the daedric prince of enslavement? Does this help prove it will have a teen rating?

So you can run to the rescue, fact is some will like the vid and others won't. I found it to be just another typical vid from ZeniMax, another lore vid but showing nothing of the actual game mechanics.

Is that elaborate enough for you?

It... It looked like home.

That's it, once I get to Coldharbour, I'm not coming back out ever again.

No need to be facetious. But they could have left that out.

Personally I find it poor that everything nowadays has to be kiddy friendly. I know why it "has" to be that way, sales, but sometimes that sword just swings back to bite the developers in the behind.
