Yeah, I care deeply about the lore and it pains me to see Zenimax use 'God of Schemes' (which is hardly mentioned in lore) instead of 'Prince of Domination' or 'King of R a p e'.

EDIT: I know about Varieties of Faith. I just hoped for something more dominating and less like an obscure title than only shows up once and has little to do with what we learned about Bal so far.

But I suppose it may be good to see another side of Bal. Maybe. Hopefully.

What is weird to me in that title (Besides that it's rarely used) is why did they chose that one for promotion? Is this some weird Avengers backlash so they could compare Molag bal to Loki? Is it because players would want to face a deity of schemes more than a deity of domination? Does "God of Schemes" sound more menacing than "Harvester of Souls" or "Prince of Domination"? What is so catchy in that title that the marketing department chose it over others?

Eh, I see it that they only said the name ONCE to promote him. I don't know why people are suddenly thinking that in-game they still won't call him the "Prince of Domination/Enslavement." Just because they didn't use his other titles in this promotion still doesn't mean they still won't ever be used.

They say it twice 0:47 and 1:49 "The god of Schemes" in the trailer. Then they use the phrase "turn molag bal's schemes against him" again and describe him on the main page(bethblog) below the trailer as the God of Schemes and again on TESO page. So it looks like they sticking with this.

Also my post wasn't a complaint, but personal curiosity. Question marks should give some indication of my intention.

Yes they are saying God of Schemes, but since that is one of his official titles they are allowed to use it as much as they really want to. But I'll say again, doesn't mean that they still won't use his other titles in the game.

How did he get his "usual" name Molag Bal in the first place? It means Fire Stone in Aldmeris, but is there a story behind this?
