most of them want you to be able to know what they do or don't like with out being told, as some kind of proof of affection.
I don't know about that. Maybe you mean what they do and don't feel comfortable about, but as for their likes/dislikes that's why you have to say words, right? I just hate ending up in situations where people give you TMI. I look at them and am think "Mike, try to pay attention and not look bored." Then my eyes glaze over and my arms become these weird foreign objects just dangling next to me. I start to swing them around and shove them inside pockets, sometimes not even my own. My posture becomes the focus of my attention and I don't know which is the correct one to be in anymore. Then, out of nowhere, comes the end of their speaking, or even worse, a question like "what about you?" or "right?". Usually I just turn around, shoot my web at the closest roof, and get out of there.
