Let's kill Molag Bal !

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 4:10 am

Oh come on !
Aedra CREATED THE UNIVERSE !
You want me to believe they are weaker than Daedra ? HA

The Aedra used to eb just liek Daedra, but they gave up their penultimate powers to create the universe. The Daedra stayed out of creation so they got to keep their power. It's in the lore, I understand the logic in the idea that they created the universe, therefore being teh most powerful, but the lore is a little different then common thinking.

The people in solitude wanted to charge me 25k after I saved their bloody town from an undead queen and if I wanted the whiterun home I would have to start the MQ so yes I am quite grateful that bal gave me a free house lets not forget the house is safe to store stuff in. Plus it has a shrine of molag bal which is a bonus! :bunny:

He can take his [censored] house and shove it. I'm rich [censored]! I'd have odaviing [censored] on that lame ass house just to spite him.

Whose to say they're not building their power up? Dont Aedra gain power through the worship of the mortals? I read that somewhere in Oblivion.

Why do u say that? Kyne, and Akatosh seem to want to help mortals at the very least.

I do believe that there is some truth to those words, but the difference here is that the Aedra are tied to the mortal plane. the Daedra are not. I do believe there is no way to get back their true immortality by being worshipped. Also I would think "gain power" through owrship is poor wording, a better way to describe would be "have power" through worship.

There are 3 ways you could destroy a Daedra/Aedra/Immortal being

1.) Attack the daedra ect. but don't kill. When close enough rip it's heart out, then equip kargenacs tools and destroy it. Henceforth taking away the divine essence from the being.

2.) Summon Durenvhir, and have him swallow the target. Go back to soul cairn have Durenvhir spit up the target, and then leave and close the portal behind you. This will leave the divine being trapped their forever. The Ideal masters would probably kill the divine being to get his/her soul.

3.) In one of the loading screens of Skyrim it say Daedra are god "like" beings. Which could mean they are not truly, just very difficult to kill.

The book in question used the words "gained" which sounds like an advantage and a disadvantage for Aedra, meaning that they can die and lose power but they can also gain more power whereas daedra dont gain more power, but cant die either.

In this instance "godlike" beings just refers to their quantity of power. There are no "gods" in TES. The Nine Divines largely considered "gods", are actually Aedra.

Gained as in past tense? Could you post a link to say UESP or Imperial Library page with the text in question so I could read?

EDIT: Double Post.

True
Let's also not forget the only reason Akatosh intervened in the Oblivion crises was because Martin gave his life as a offering.

Doesnt make him bad, maybe that was the only way he could since aedra apparently cant manifest themselves on nirn.

Mara seems to be the only "true" nice one, also even "Talos" did ALOT of bad things during his time.

Yes there seems to be thsi idea that Daedra=Bad, Aedra=Good. That's really a huge misconception, and really a matter of opinion. The Daedric Prince Peryite for example is pretty nice in Oblivion. And Sanguine isn't really evil, he just likes drinking and brothels a lot.

Talos is quite the badass.

I found the book, but it sounds as if its theory, not true canon, but here it is.

Question. do Aedra represent the evil of a sphere, like as mara represents love, can she also represent lust?
