Lizard Lovers Unite!

For those of you Argonian Fanatics like myself.

Since Morrowind, I have never even STARTED a character that was not an argonian. Not even edited back to argonian, never opened the door to the census and excise office as a non-argonian.
I have never been poisoned or seen my breath meter go down (until they took that away in skyrim, poison is weak to the point of pointlessness anyhow).

I always try to avoid killing argonians by any means possible. Khajiit too, out of sympathy. But I relish in the deaths of dunmer. I freed every slave I could in Morrowind, me and Haj-Ei are old friends.

I kill anyone who I can kill that dislikes argonians, or steal from them if I can't kill them.

I am Argonian, and I am proud! Long live the An-Xileel!

(waits for anti-argonian comments)

They are a pretty cool race. It wouldn't be TES without them.

I couldn't play the beast races in Morrowind or OB because of how bow-legged they walked in third person. I'm -so- glad they've fixed it for Skyrim.

As a Nordic Dragonborn, I frequently mistake argonians for dragons in my travels. What? They all look a like to me anyways...

I used to have an Argonian character in Morrowind, he killed Dunmer and freed his fellow argonians from slavery. I have yet to play as one in Skyrim but maybe soon.

But yes Argonians are awesome.

I'm the same way. I have a soft spot for Argonians and Khajiit, and I don't like hurting them. I don't care much for the other races.

I'm playing a lizard. I was originally sold as a slave to a merchant who used me to tend the beasts and set up the tables, and other menial work. When our caravan was attacked, I managed to club two bandits to death with a stake from the wagon bed. We got away from that fight with all our wealth and only missing a little blood. My "prowess" (manic energy and luck) impressed the caravan master to the extent that he signed for my freedom and had me trained to be a guard. I made a show of being interested in working for this man, but I could never forget that he is the kind of person who believes it acceptable to buy another thinking person. I accepted his money and his equipment, and guarded him per my word, but waited for a good time to leave. When it came, I left in the night without a word to anybody, with only my clothing and equipment and went north, thinking that this is the least likely direction for saxhleel and thus the direction I was least likely to be found. I'm not entirely sure why, but when an Empire patrol found me crossing into Skyrim, I was taken prisoner. Events have proceeded at a breakneck pace.

As a matter of curiosity, does anybody know if Argonians are supposed to be cold-blooded? This might have some impact on roleplay in a frozen wasteland.

Hey, just found something that those in this thread might appreciate! This page gave me some unique insight into the Hist language:

What Argonians? There is probably a grand total of 8 argonians in Skyrim.

Argonians united!
The lesser races can't even taste the Hist sap without suffering side effects...

I've played 100% Argonian since Morrowind like you, OP. TES wouldn't be the same without them.

I avoid killing Argonians and Khajit in Skyrim simply because there is *maybe* a grand total of 20 non-hostile, beast race NPCs in the game.

While I personally like both the beast races, I've never started a character as one. I prefer RPing with the more familiar human or mer races.

I always play Argonians myself, although I did have a couple of Khajiit characters in Oblivion and will probably have at least one in Skyrim. I tried to play the Human and Elf races, but they've been done to death in fantasy works and I found them boring as hell. I was kind of bummed when I saw the lack of Poison Resistance (I plan to mod it back in ASAP), however there haven't been all that many occasions when I was actually poisoned so it hasn't been the disaster I thought it might.

I was actually drawn to play the race by their water-breathing ability; I love to explore every nook and cranny I can possibly get into, and as a large number of same are underwater I wanted a character who could stay under indefinitely. Yeah, I know you can do this with Alteration, but I prefer to not need to spam a spell while exploring and Argonians can do that, so they were the natural choice to play. I knew their poison and disease protections would be useful while exploring old ruins, and they also allowed me to concentrate on anti-magic enchantments on my armor.

They're also good fit for my preferred play style of sneaky archer, even though they're not the best fit for it (that would be Khajiits, which is why I also play them), as it's a natural extension of their predatory reptilian heritage, so it's relatively easy for me to come up with good RPs for them.

N'wah scum, crawl back to your little marsh!

I actually don't have a problem with the lizard folk, though they are pretty gross looking. I'm actually starting to develop disdain for these local Nords.

Considering that there are Argonians actually living in Skyrim suggests that they are warm blooded. You can even find Argonians way up in Solitude wearing no shirt. If that isn't confirmation, I don't know what is.
