Magic kill cams got to go!

That is the whole point. The game has been watered down beyond recognition. Less guilds. Boring quests. Less armour. Less Playspace. Less Weapons. No spell making. Less spells. They are just catering for babies.

Seems appropriate, given all the crying on the forums.

Report me? For the insulting remark? Are you actually being serious? It is a statement. I'm sure you haven't played previous ES and so you don't have a clue what I am talikng about. The game is not perfect despite you claiming it to be. If people don't want things changed we will get a cod elder scrolls that is EXACTLY the same and comes out every year. To be honest there wasn't much competition to game of the year. If it was released in 2012 it wouldn't win. Oh, and sales don't matter. Look at cod. Loads of people play it, but it's still awful. To be honest why are you even participating in this thread if all you can do is moan about people wanting a toggle. END OF CONVERSATION.

Yeah, the generally hostile, insulting, and argumentative tone isn't worth a report. But it's ironic that you call out people for moaning.

Dude. You have no idea what you're talking about. My first TES game was Morrowind... loved it. Oblivion, not so much. Skyrim... love it. So, in me, there is a person who has in fact played other TES games and doesn't stamp his feet and spittle all over his keyboard in anger because there is a quarrel over the differences between Captian Kirk and Captain Picard in a parallel universe. I don't have dorito crumbs on my t-shirt that have been sitting there for two days and the blinds on my windows are open. So, maybe you are correct, we are different. But, unfortunate for you, you've pegged me wrong.

And this quote is hilarious: "Oh, and sales don't matter. Look at cod. Loads of people play it, but it's still awful."

I'm no defender of CoD, but what a statement. One way to tell if someone is insane is if they create their own little world closed in by their own definitions of truth, then they spend their life in that little claustrophobic world. 10X10 padded cells are only an external manifestation of what really exists in their own minds. When obvious subjectivity becomes objectivity to a person, it's time to get help before he ends in a 10X10 padded cell. For example, just because you believe vanilla ice cream with walnuts is the greatest and only dessert one should eat, doesn't mean that it's true. Just because you say that someones chocolate chip cookie is horrid, doesn't mean that it is... especially when those chocolate chip cookies are selling off the racks. Your view of reality is simply deformed.

Magic and Archery killcams could not realistically be made to always hit, unless you want arrows which can change course mid air. During the time it takes your arrow to fly, an NPC can choose to move out of the way or cast a healing spell, which would stop it from killing them, but the killcam needs to trigger on firing or it'd look wrong.

So let me get this straight.

Enemy killcams stop me from moving and I die 100 percent of the time.

But my own Killcam with archery and magic only gets a 10 percent chance of actually working.

Makes sense.

Quote for the damn truth. So glad someone see's the series for where its heading.

Bethesda are trying to be COD, when they dont need too, theyre ****ing Elder Scrolls! They're playing sheep when they should be leader.

Well at least it appears I've aged past infancy. I take it as a compliment that I seem to be maturing at an extremely quick pace in the eyes of the perpetual malcontents.

I don't use magic, but twice in a row, i shot arrows to kill some bandits, and both times it slowed down to show a "kill" shot and the arrow missed by a mile... it's odd, i enjoy it, when it works and when is hows a good long shot, but sometimes it's just annoying.

I am not the one who started off being hostile. The few people against a toggle started it by calling people are idiots, complainers and malcontents simply for wanting a toggle. They can say they don't want a toggle but they shouldn't just spam up and basically troll the toggle threads by saying anyone who wants a toggle is a complainer. This is the one thing I would like I don't care about any of the other stuff. I just believe we should have the freedom to say we don't like the killcams. They claim that if we get this we'll just spam up the threads by complaining more. I doubt anyone would, I certainly wouldn't. I haven't made a single 'complainer' thread. They also say there are 50 threads about a toggle when I believe there are three. Hope that clears things up a bit. :)

Nobody is taking that freedom away from you. Just don't be a grandstanding, condescending, [censored] and everything will be fine. Oh, and about there being only three. Are you counting all of the threads where Earthlinger continually repeats "killcam toggle" even when it's irrelevant? And all of the times he links to his previous condescending threads that people have long since started to ignore? He wants to be the William Wallace of the killcam toggle... which is fine, I guess. But yeah, that dead horse has not only been beaten, it's been dismembered and each of it's pieces taken to the far corners of the earth where they are further tenderised just before being attached to a pod on the tip of a rocket that launches into space... ad infinitum...

Ah, the stupidity of this statement is astounding, matched only by those seconding it.

Without "noobs" or "newbies" a game dies. I have seen it happen, and it happens to all games that fail to replenish their ranks with fresh numbers.

It happened to soo many "muds" when the graphical games came into competition. No more noobs, a game full of hostile veteran players, and the population stopped expanding. After a while, an old player drops off here or there for life issues, family, death, job/no job. The population shrinks and shrinks. A 15,000 strong MUD I played in the 90s has shrunk to about 120 members today. I play L4D2, without a constant supply of "nubs" to deal the with people moving on to other titles or just getting bored the gaming population would shrink, and VS games would become unplayable. Thank god we do have fresh nubs constantly and that some in the community help them, or us VS players would be high and dry. I can think of 3 more examples off the top of my head, but for brevity I'll stop it here.

Saying new players are not important to a game or a genre is shortsighted and woefully ignorant.
Obviously a small increase is good, but you don't want to do a battlefield and cater completely for cod players. It doesn't need to increase that much. It can still be a good game even if it doesn't have cod amounts of people playing it.

same here! and then it starts missing because - holy [censored] - the enemy is not going to stand there and let me burn them!

so the most interesting part of these killcams is now wondering if I am going to get killed while trying to finish off an enemy...

This.

I haven't had any instances of the problem that the OP describes. Every time the "Kill Cam" has kicked in on my Mage, I've always had the enemy die. I haven't had one kill cam where the enemy lived.

I love the magic kill cams. I think they look great, and it's fun to see my Mage greasing an enemy from a cinematic angle through magic. I like the addition.
Killcams are great and i've had no problems with them the OP is wrong ,good work indeed Beth.

True, but there will always be the good with the bad. Good noobs bad noobs, no one can pick and choose, but the good ones usually stay, and the bad ones usually leave. Saying you dont need noobs on the other hand.. I summed that up earlier.

Ive never played cod, but it seems to be the standard for everything despised, least it keeps popping up in all the examples of disdain.

Count me in with the malcontent over no spellmaking, and lack of depth.

To be honest that is what you have been doing a bit of too. Some others have been doing it worse but there you go. I'm not a complainer and I don't like being called one. That's all I am going to say. People for and against the toggle have been flaming too much so I'm going to stop arguing.
