I recommend. Renegade is my favorite style.
Really. I'm the exact opposite. Though I will admit certain renegade options are generally hilarious and I can't resist doing them.
I believe in the greater good. Renegade basically represents Status Quo - wiping out Rachni, preserving the Genophage, taking no risks. When the Reapers die I want that the Galaxy returns to the state it was before - the form we know to be good - instead of having talking bugs or psycho Krogan waiting to abuse the power vacuum.
However I do always net Paragon points when I help common people and when I'm polite to squadmates. Being Renegade shouldn't be restricted to shooting people and being an ass. It should be simply as "whatever it takes" strategy.
Fortunately, ME3's reputation system has been massively improved. Along with the better level design, this is the greatest improvement over ME2 IMO.
You are finally free to simply select the dialogue choices you feel your character would choose, rather than "always rude" or "always nice guy."
In ME2, the only way to unlock many of the interrupts was by choosing renegade 100% of the time or paragon 100% of the time, even when some of those choices were absurd, or didn't feel appropriate for your Shepard character. For ME3, it's simply your total reputation that unlocks interrupts, calculated by tallying total paragon, renegade and neutral reputation points.
